00:00It's only three preseason games and some of these players are only going to play in one
00:06or two of them.
00:07So every play does count every, you know, for me, it's not so much the result.
00:11It's sort of like, how did you look in the game?
00:14And let's start off with Caleb Williams.
00:15And I Caleb Williams look very comfortable, Scott.
00:20And you know that they're not going to give away too much in the preseason as far as what
00:23they're going to what kind of offense they want to run for.
00:25But I thought they gave there were a lot of hints.
00:28And it seemed to me that it was pretty USC or Scott.
00:32Like really the thing I don't really understand why some teams know that their quarterback
00:38can't do something or know that he does something better, but they don't do it because they're
00:41like, no, we want to teach them this or that.
00:43I'm of the belief like, you know, play to the strengths of your player.
00:46And Caleb Williams is not a great pocket passer.
00:50And I don't say that in a way that oh, he can't throw a football.
00:54But when he just, you know, simply drops back and he has to read the defense and it's
00:59a standard sort of drop back play.
01:00Like we saw a lot of that Notre Dame game last year.
01:03He kind of struggled a bit under this sort of standard procedures, okay, because that's
01:07where you got to break down the defense, you got to understand what everybody's doing.
01:11You roll him out, and it just creates this completely different dynamic on the play.
01:16And he's not like a speed burner, but he's football fast.
01:19And there were a couple of times, Scott, that very impressive in the pocket.
01:22He didn't panic, just a slow step up, step backwards.
01:26The great ones sort of do that, they understand, you don't have to panic in the pocket, just
01:30be calm.
01:31And I thought he was very calm in the pocket.
01:34We all know about his Patrick Mahomes sort of like plays that he can do and he does.
01:38And he did it right away on the first drive.
01:40The Buffalo Bills got to him, they had him, no, did a little shovel pass turned into like
01:44a 16 yard game.
01:47So I thought that Caleb Williams looked pretty comfortable out there, Scott, obviously, it
01:50was a small takeaway.
01:51But I also, you know, the little takeaways from the offense, I liked what I saw there.
01:57As far as Jayden Daniels is concerned, another player, Scott, guy looks like no problem.
02:02Doesn't look like a rookie, I know it's a preseason game, but scored a touchdown on
02:06his first drive, walked into the end zone, tic-tac-toe down the field with him as well.
02:11Another player that just seems very, very, I think Scott we're in an era right now where
02:14some of these players can play right away.
02:17Not all of them, but some of them are, and it looks like Daniels and Williams are more
02:21than capable of stepping up and in right now.
