00:00Good morning to all of us. This is the latest weather update for Tuesday, August 13, 2024.
00:09At the moment, the typhoon that we are watching outside our Philippine Area of Responsibility is still strong.
00:16It is in the Tropical Storm category with an international name, Sea Amphibian.
00:21The name Amphibian comes from Cambodia, which means tamarind.
00:26As we can see in our latest satellite image, the Tropical Storm Amphibian is far from our land,
00:32which is why we do not expect it to affect any part of our country in the coming days
00:39because it will continue to move north-eastward or away from our Philippine Area of Responsibility,
00:45although it will slow down its movement.
00:50Meanwhile, the weather system that is affecting our country right now
00:54is still being affected by the Southwest Monsoon or Hanging Habagat,
00:59which is affecting some parts of the Luzon and the western section of the Visayas.
01:04As we can see in our latest satellite image, we can see thick clouds,
01:09especially in the northern part of the Luzon,
01:12so we still expect the possibility of heavy rains in some parts of the northern Luzon,
01:18central Luzon, and also here in the extreme northern Luzon area.
01:22Meanwhile, in most parts of our country, we generally have fair weather conditions.
01:26We do not see thick clouds that could cause rain all day long in most parts of our country,
01:34although we do see some clouds that do not last long.
01:38So we still expect generally fair weather conditions or hot weather,
01:42especially in the afternoon, and there are still chances of isolated rain showers or thunderstorms
01:48or sudden or quick rains.
01:51And in the coming days, we expect that the Tropical Storm Amphibian will continue to move away from our country.
01:59Meanwhile, the Southwest Monsoon will continue to move until the coming weekend,
02:05and it is possible for it to rain, especially in other parts of the northern Luzon.
02:09Meanwhile, afternoon rain showers or thunderstorms will be common in most parts of our country.
02:16So let's prepare our umbrella or raincoats.
02:21In the coming days in Luzon, as we mentioned earlier,
02:26the Southwest Monsoon or Tropical Storm Amphibian will continue to move,
02:30especially in areas of Ilocos Region, Zambales, and also in Batanes and Babuyan Islands.
02:37It is possible for it to rain and thunderstorms.
02:42Meanwhile, in the northern part of Luzon, generally, fair weather conditions will continue.
02:48There are only chances of sudden or quick rain showers,
02:52usually in the afternoon or at night, or possibly in the early morning.
02:57As for the temperature, we expect the surrounding cities in Luzon to play from 26 to 32 degrees Celsius.
03:05For Baguio, it will be 17 to 23 degrees.
03:08For Tuguegarao, it will play from 25 to 33 degrees Celsius.
03:12Maximum temperatures here in Metro Manila will reach 32 degrees Celsius.
03:18For Tagaytay, it will be 23 to 30 degrees Celsius.
03:21Meanwhile, here in Legazpi, it will play from 26 to 32 degrees Celsius.
03:27There will be weather conditions in the northern part of our country.
03:30As we saw in the satellite image, we can't see anything.
03:34It is possible for heavy rain to fall in the afternoon in the northern part of our province.
03:40That is why we expect hot weather, especially in the afternoon,
03:44and there are still chances of isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, usually in the afternoon or at night.
03:51As for the temperature in the surrounding cities,
03:54here in Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao,
03:57for Kalayaan Islands and Puerto Princesa,
03:59our maximum temperatures will reach 32 degrees Celsius,
04:03as well as in Iloilo and Tacloban.
04:06Meanwhile, we expect the temperature in Cebu to play from 26 to 33 degrees Celsius.
04:13For Zamboanga, it will play from 24 to 33 degrees Celsius.
04:18For Cagayan de Oro, it will play from 26 to 32 degrees Celsius.
04:21And for Davao, it will play from 25 to 33 degrees Celsius.
04:27As for the sea, we still don't have any gale warnings.
04:30As of now, we are allowed to go as far as Katamtaman.
04:33That is what we will experience in our seas.
04:35That is why our countrymen will be able to travel far,
04:38especially those who have small sea vehicles.
04:41This morning, the sun will rise at 5.42 a.m. and set at 6.20 p.m.
