A woman on trial for land fraud has been arrested for allegedly committing a similar offence.

Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID) director Comm Datuk Seri Ramli Mohamed Yoosuf said the suspect, in her 40s, was previously charged in connection with four land fraud cases and the trial is ongoing.

00:00A total of 15 police reports have been received since 2016
00:07regarding the act of selling and buying land
00:11owned by a person known as Siti Aisyah binti Nasib Ghazali.
00:18So far, the total loss recorded has reached
00:23547,650 ringgit.
00:28The investigation revealed that the modus operandi used by the suspect
00:32was to sign a sale-buy agreement with the landowner,
00:37supposedly to buy the land.
00:40At the same time, the suspect would advertise the sale of the land
00:45by breaking the law.
00:47To convince the victim, the suspect would show the document
00:52of the purchase of the land
00:54or claim that he has acquired the power of attorney
00:59from the landowner.
01:01Four bank accounts have been identified and used
01:04to receive the payment from the victim.
01:07Three of the accounts have been registered under the name of the individual,
01:11including two owned by the suspect.
01:14Another account has been registered under the name of the suspect's company.
01:18The suspect has been accused of four cases of selling and buying land
01:23and the proceedings of these four cases are still ongoing in court.
01:27The latest was on 12 August 2024, yesterday,
01:32the suspect was detained in Gombak, Selangor
01:35for one case of fraud of land.
01:38In this case, the suspect was claimed to have deceived a 59-year-old
01:43farmer in the matter of selling a plot of land
01:47resulting in the victim's loss of RM60,400.
01:53This means that the commission of crime is still ongoing.
01:56The suspect has been detained for three days until 14 August 2024.
02:01The case is being investigated under Section 420 of the Penal Code.
