00:05They said this after the Chinese fighter jet's flares disappeared on the Philippine's airfield.

00:17The Chinese fighter jet's flares disappeared on the Philippine's airfield on August 8.

00:23This is the first time that there's an incident like this between two airfields of two countries

00:28according to the Philippine Navy.

00:29But before this, there was an incident where the Chinese military bases

00:34lost their flares.

00:35There have been incidents in the past that the Philippine Air Force

00:38no more flight.

00:40Piloted by no less than the commanding general of the Philippine Air Force.

00:43He noticed that there were flares being fired from the bases.

00:47The Philippine Air Force now thinks that the aircraft that lost its flares

00:51also came from the base of China and not from an aircraft carrier.

00:55According to the AFP, the Philippine Air Force now needs additional air assets.

01:00On July 7, President Bongbong Marcos approved the purchase of 14 new multi-role fighter jets.

02:23while 11 were spotted in Ayungin Shoal

02:26where the BRP Sierra Madre is located.

02:29According to the DFA, there was a provisional understanding

02:33between the ROREs of China and the Philippines

02:35following the talks on July 2 in the Bilateral Consultation Mechanism.

02:40So the salient points of the provisional arrangement is basically,

02:44one, this provisional arrangement is without prejudice to our national positions.

02:51This is probably the most important provision in this provisional arrangement.

02:55And number two, this will be subject to review.

02:58The main point is, China has already accepted that the Philippines has RORE missions.

03:03There is already an agreement that our Chinese friends have agreed that there is a RORE.

03:13RORE meaning Rotation and Reprovisioning of Essentials.

03:17Are we sure that because of this provisional agreement,

03:22there will be no harassment or unevenness in our fishing?

03:31On the particular understanding, we have made very clear to China

03:36that we will honor the provisional understanding

03:39and we expect China to honor it.
