Dès le deuxième jour de course et sur ses terres néerlandaises, Demi Vollering a d'ores et déjà marqué au fer rouge cette 3e édition et pris le pouvoir à l'occasion de la 3e étape, disputée sous forme d'un court chrono dans les rues de Rotterdam. Un contre-la-montre qu'elle a totalement dominé, terminant sur seulement 6,3 kms avec plus de cinq secondes d'avance sur la championne du monde américaine Chloé Dygert (Canyon//SRAM Racing). Une belle victoire d'étape assortie du maillot Jaune qui a surpris et même bouleversé la tenante du titre, la grande favorite à sa propre succession fondant en larme en interview d'après-course.
