00:07Mojo, absolutely horrific start to the career of a Cleveland Browns second round pick.
00:15We're talking about Mike Hall Jr., who again was the team's second round pick this year
00:21out of Ohio State.
00:23Now I say it was a horrible start to his career, not because of anything that happened on the
00:27football field, no, it's because of, Mojo, what allegedly happened off of the field.
00:35And it's allegedly pretty horrible.
00:37So this morning, Tuesday morning, Hall Jr. was arrested in Ohio after allegedly holding
00:46a gun to the head of his fiancee Monday night, last night, and threatening to shoot her in
00:54the head and kill her, Mojo.
00:56Horrible, horrible allegations here.
00:58So the police were not called until today when the mother of the fiancee, who was allegedly
01:06threatened, made the call to cops.
01:09Cops came out, did their investigation, Mojo, and ultimately found out or determined that
01:15there was something to these allegations.
01:19And because of that, Hall Jr. has been arrested, $10,000 is what his bond's been set at, and
01:27goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway, when you're talking about a gun, holding a
01:32weapon to somebody, and threatening to end their life, this is an incredibly serious
01:37allegation.
01:38And, I mean, this guy's got some problems right now, and he hadn't even stepped on the
01:43football field yet, Mojo.
01:44Oh, absolutely.
01:46I mean, this guy's career is more or less over before it even started.
01:50Let's just take the football side out of this for a second.
01:53I mean, he's probably looking at a one-year suspension, but that is the least of his issues
01:59right now.
02:00Right now, he's got himself a legal problem, but more importantly, a family problem.
02:05I mean, this was his fiancee.
02:08This is the woman that he intended to marry and spend the rest of his life with.
02:12Mojo, they have an 11-month-old child, by the way.
02:15Exactly, and that just makes this entire situation even worse.
02:19That might be the worst part of this whole thing, actually, but absolutely horrible.
02:24I mean, obviously, he's been arrested, so something is going to happen here.
02:28I mean, outside of his fiancee letting him off the hook with this, I mean, he's probably
02:34looking at some time here.
02:36Anytime you have physicality, especially against a woman, you factor in a baby with this.
02:42I mean, this is an absolute nightmare.
02:45I mean, football is going to be the least of this guy's issues.
02:50I mean, obviously, we talk all the time about how stressful and how difficult training camp
02:55can be, especially for a rookie, but that does not excuse or validate any little individual
03:02piece of this entire situation.
03:05Again, this is going to be a problem because even if the NFL comes down and suspends him
03:09for a month, half the season, the entire season, I mean, who knows if the Cleveland Browns
03:14are even going to want him after that.
03:16I mean, think about all the negative press that's going to come with this.
03:20I mean, you retain a player like this, your organization becomes those guys right from
03:26the start and Cleveland already has done that in the past with a few choice players.
03:30So you certainly don't want to build a roster around people like that.
03:34So I mean, this is going to be a mess.
03:37Obviously, this is going to play out in the legal system, in the courts for a while.
03:41I mean, things look terrible for this young man and they absolutely should.
03:44Yeah, Mojo, if this ends up sticking and it goes to court, I mean, the football suspension
03:51might be the least of his worries because these are potential charges that could carry
03:57I mean, years and years and years in prison.
04:01Probably getting ahead of myself there.
04:02We'll see what happens.
04:04As for what the Browns have to say about things as we sit here today, just a couple of hours
04:09after the arrest took place, they have issued a statement which they said, we are aware
04:13of the incident involving Mike Hall Jr. last night.
04:17Mike and his representatives have been in touch with the appropriate authorities.
04:21We are in the process of gathering more information and we'll have no further comment at this
04:26time.
04:27A bit of a cliche statement there, Mojo.
04:31We'll see what happens.
