00:05that the number of cases of leptospirosis has increased in their hospital.

00:09In Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon, it was said that 148 individuals with leptospirosis are currently being treated.

00:17Eight have recovered due to leptospirosis at the age of 28 to 45 years old.

00:25This number is high because last month, there were only two to three people who were confined in their hospital.

00:34The number of patients with leptospirosis has been recorded to be high

00:38after the recent flood that caused widespread flooding in Metro Manila.

00:45We tabulated the data of our patients.

00:49In fact, it's not just flooding. They are also floating in the water.

00:53So we can see that this microbe is not only floating in the water,

00:59but most of the time, it enters the mouth, the nose, or the eyes.

01:05And that's the reason why a lot of them are those exposed to our mucosal membranes

01:12are those also the ones who developed moderate to severe leptospirosis.
