A lorry driver was killed after being trapped in his vehicle following a five-vehicle collision at KM 301.1 (northbound) of the North-South Highway near Gopeng, early Thursday (Aug 15) morning.

00:00A lorry driver was killed after being trapped in his vehicle following a five-vehicle collision
00:07on the North-South Highway near Gopeng early Thursday morning.

00:17said ten firefighters and five fire engines were dispatched to the scene after they were
00:22alerted of the incident at 2.37am.
00:25He told Bonama that the accident involved three trailers, a one-ton lorry and an MPV,
00:31resulting in a traffic jam, stretching approximately seven kilometres.
00:36The male victim in his thirties was pinned in the driver's seat of a trailer lorry,
00:40which had collided with another trailer.
00:43Three other individuals sustained minor injuries, including the MPV driver, which had been rear-ended
00:49by the one-ton lorry, loaded with eggs.
00:52The trapped victim was extricated from the vehicle and confirmed dead by medical personnel,
00:57while the injured were taken to the hospital for further treatment.
