00:00My name is Anna-Marie Van Bokover-Allen and I'm the Honorary Treasurer of Burgess Hill and District Rotary Club.
00:06During the Queen's Jubilee year we decided to do a project to celebrate her Jubilee by doing 70 of something.
00:13So we decided to raise enough money to be able to buy 70 water survival boxes.
00:20Today we are here celebrating the fact that we achieved that, in fact we raised enough money for 73.
00:27And today we are going to be looking at a demonstration of how they work and a general celebration of our achievement.
00:34The water survival boxes will go out to a country where there is a need for fresh water, fresh and clean water
00:41and will work for at least five years providing clean water for a family.
00:47So it's hugely important and part of the work that we do within the Rotary Club.
00:52This is the Griffay water filter, the most important thing in our water survival box to keep a family provided with safe drinking water.
01:01As you see, very dirty water is converted into safe, clear drinking water.
01:07And here I am pumping it and the clean water is coming out and James will hold it to the light.
01:16You'll see there's nothing in it other than water and it tastes like earth from my garden I expect.
01:27Oh my god that water is amazing. It's a bit earthy. It's amazing, it is a bit earthy but it's very drinkable.
01:32I know and that's good old Somerset mud and Sussex water, how's that?
01:37Thank you, thank you very much, that's great.
