  • last month
Jonny Drury caught up with West Brom fans after their were held to a goalless draw against Leeds United.
Albion went into the game searching for a second win on the bounce - and controlled the first half without carving out chances.
The game went much the same way in the second period - but Jayson Molumby and Karlan Grant couldn't make the most of big chances to win the game.

00:00Jordan, point against Leeds, a couple of big chances in the second half, what did you make
00:11of it?
00:12It was alright.
00:13I thought between the boxes we played really well, just a bit of a lack of quality, precision
00:19in the final third, but it's an early game.
00:23Clint, draw against Leeds, a couple of big chances in the second half, but what did you
00:27make of it overall?
00:29Yeah, a solid point on the back of the three last week, so they've still got a lot of good
00:35players in Leeds, they're expected to finish very high up the league, Bucky's had us at
00:38nearly 3-1 to win at home today, which I don't think I've ever known in the Championship,
00:43so we've got to realise where we're at and that, play-offs will be a great season, Leeds
00:47are expected to be up there, it's a solid point, of course the top of the league.
00:51The first couple of games obviously there's been a bit of worry from the fans in the summer,
00:55a bit of trepidation, have you been pleasantly surprised by what you've seen in the first
00:58couple of games?
00:59Yeah, I think, I look at the players we've lost, Townsend is a good Championship left
01:06back but he's not great, Asante is a good striker but he's not great, Jakuslu's a blow,
01:11but I think Molumbi offers maybe a bit of better balance in the midfield, so I don't
01:16think it's been a disaster and I'm pleasantly surprised with how we've done to be honest.
01:19Yeah, happy with four points from the first two really?
01:21Yeah, it's not been an easy start to start, I mean, QPR did well at the back end of last
01:24season and I did get a win there and Leeds are expected to be up there, I was disappointed
01:29with Leeds today, I thought they weren't going to be up there, I can't have any complaints
01:32with them.
01:33I was at St Andrews, so I was pleasantly surprised last week, yeah, I know it's pre-season and
01:39you can't read too much into it but it was absolute shambles at St Andrews and the way
01:45they played last week and then they look confident today, we've lost our player of the season
01:49in QPR, probably our best player in Jakuslu and our top goal scorer of the last two seasons
01:53in Thomas Asante, others have been injured and it doesn't look much different, you know,
01:59you'd think we'd take a big step back but it's quite similar, yeah.
02:03Carlos wants three or four more new signings, so if you had to prioritise two areas, where
02:10would you want to strengthen?
02:11I think we need a striker, I like Magic but I think it's all today, we couldn't really
02:17have one, and I think maybe central midfielders, I don't think we've had a lot of senior midfielders
02:26at the moment so we'd probably want to get another one in to give us a bit of a dab at it.
02:31Blimey, I still think potentially centre-back, so I don't know how McNair's going to do when
02:37he comes in, Ajay can be a bit iffy but he was brilliant last week and he's done OK today
02:44but I think bringing in a centre-back, a cover for Furlong, if Furlong was out what would
02:50we do at Ryback?
02:51I'm not too sure apart from that, we seem pretty OK, I guess up front, yeah, so of course
02:57if we didn't have Magic, so we definitely need something more up front.
