Transcript
00:00Mediators are one step closer to finding a ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas, following
00:07French Foreign Minister Stéphane Séjourne's meeting with his Egyptian counterpart Bader
00:12Abdelhati in Cairo, on the last leg of his regional tour.
00:17It is at the heart, once again, that my regional tour ends, after Beirut, Tel Aviv and the
00:26Palestinian territories, at each of these steps, just like you, by the way, I have exchanged
00:31with my interlocutors on the urgency of a ceasefire to put an end to the suffering of
00:37the Gazaouis, to allow the liberation of the hostages, of which two of our compatriots
00:45are still held.
00:47Cairo is set to host the next round of talks between Israel and Hamas, building on the recent
00:53meeting seen as positive in Doha, which also aims to reduce regional tension.
00:59This paper is the reference paper, the important one, there is communication with the two sides,
01:07the Israeli and the Palestinian, and if the intention is fulfilled, and if there is a
01:13political will, and I emphasize again that if there is a political will, then of course
01:19we can reach an agreement to stop the ceasefire, there are some gaps, some gaps, but we deal
01:35with them and think about how to break these gaps.
01:42Mediators said they expect to work out the details of how to implement the possible deal
01:48next week in Cairo.
