Officials from key mediators in a ceasefire deal between Hamas and Israel say that a landmark agreement has been reached to pause the 15-month war in the Gaza Strip. Israel has said the deal is in its final stages.

00:37The deal will also allow hundreds of thousands of people displaced in Gaza to return to what
00:41remains of their homes.
00:44Also badly needed humanitarian aid will be able to flood into the devastated territory.
00:51A senior Israeli official said details are still being ironed out but mediators in Doha
00:55confirmed the deal.
00:58The agreement still needs to be approved by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's
01:02cabinet but is expected to go into effect in the coming days.
01:07And this is to be accompanied by the opening of negotiations on ending the war altogether.
