Leeds Running Festival 2024 in Roundhay Park

We meet some of the runners and attendees of the Leeds Running Festival 2024 in Roundhay Park - congratulations to all those that took part!

00:00We're here supporting our sons today. It's the first time they've done a run together, they're

00:03good school friends. They're really into their fitness and football and they just decided that

00:09they challenged themselves to do a competitive run, first time they've done it. So yeah, we're

00:16here to support them today. We brought the dogs because it's love round Hay Park, come here quite

00:21often. We're Eve Warren's barmy army and we're here to support Eve in her first half marathon.

00:30The atmosphere is brilliant, it's a real good festival of running. So Eve finished her air

00:35levels this year and she wanted something to focus on and look forward to, so she started

00:43training, so it's her first time round. My girlfriend's running today, she's been training

00:47for weeks for this, she's going to do really well. She reckons she's going to do it in two and a half

00:50hours, I reckon she'll do it in two. She's an absolute machine, bless her. That's a good shot.

00:56It's decent, it's a good day, good food, coffee, family, friends. I'm just here to support my

01:01little sister. She's running the half marathon, she's going to smash it. We're here supporting

01:07our daughter Holly who's doing a 10k. She's been training, doing a lot of training, she's doing

01:15very very well. She's doing the 10k. Yeah that's right. A warm-up event for me for the Nottingham

01:21half marathon at the end of September, so that's why I'm doing it. It's my first time ever running,

01:28my other half was supposed to be doing it with her and he broke his ankle training, so I have

01:32stepped in to take his place but I've dropped it from the 10k to the 5k because I'm more new to

01:36this. So just trying to give it a go, so I'm very excited to be here because I've never done anything

01:42like this before. The eight of us that are running are from Savvy Park Runners, so they're helping

01:46our club get involved as well. Some of us arrived back from Cyprus at six o'clock this morning,

01:54so we've not been asleep for 24 hours, so it might not be the quickest 10k.
