00:00Good morning to all of you.
00:02Here is our update on the storm that is being monitored,
00:06the Dindo storm with an international name, Jongdari.
00:11Jongdari is from North Korea.
00:15This means that Jongdari is a type of bird from North Korea.
00:21The low-pressure area that we monitored yesterday was a storm.
00:25It was last seen 640 kilometers northeast of Itbayat, Sabatanes.
00:32Since the tropical depression last night, this became a tropical storm early in the morning.
00:37Its strength is 65 kilometers per hour near the middle
00:41and can reach up to 80 kilometers per hour.
00:44At the moment, the Dindo storm is moving towards the Philippine area of responsibility.
00:52Its direction is northeast and its speed is 10 kilometers per hour.
00:57At the moment, there is no direct effect of the Dindo storm in any part of the country.
01:02What is continuously affected is the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat,
01:06particularly here in Northern Luzon.
01:09What we are expecting today is that there is a high chance of heavy rains
01:12at the end of Habagat and not just the Dindo storm,
01:15particularly here in the area of Batanes and Babuyan Islands.
01:19As you can see, in 11 parts of the country, especially in Mindanao,
01:23generally, we have fair weather in most of our islands.
01:26However, we are still expecting isolated rain showers and thunderstorms
01:30from the afternoon to the evening.
01:33It is possible that the Philippine area of responsibility will bring out the Dindo storm this morning.
01:38Here is the track of the Dindo storm that we last saw.
01:42It is near the boundary of the Philippine area of responsibility.
01:47Between 5 a.m. today and 8 a.m. tomorrow, it is possible that the storm will come out.
01:53At 2 p.m. tomorrow, based on our forecast track,
01:57it will be at 760 kilometers northeast of Itbayat in Batanes.
02:01Tomorrow, it will be at more than 1,000 kilometers northeast of the extreme northern Luzon.
02:07Since the Dindo storm is far away in our country,
02:10we do not have any tropical cyclone warning signals in any part of our islands.
02:16It also does not have a direct effect on any part of our country.
02:20It also does not make the storm stronger.
02:23Usually, typhoons in the typhoon category are the ones that make the storm stronger.
02:28As of now, the Dindo storm is only in the tropical storm category.
02:33That is why today, we can see that in Luzon,
02:36there is a high chance of storm showers,
02:38particularly in Batanes and Babuyan Islands.
02:43In most parts of our country, generally, we will experience fair weather.
02:47It is possible that thunderstorms and rain showers will come in the afternoon.
02:52The temperature outside is 26 to 33 degrees Celsius up to 34 degrees Celsius at night.
02:58In Baguio, it is 18 to 25 degrees Celsius.
03:01In Metro Manila, it is still a bit hot, around 25 to 34 degrees Celsius.
03:05In Tagaytay, it is 24 to 32 degrees Celsius,
03:08while in Legazpi, it is 27 to 34 degrees Celsius.
03:13Let's go to Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao.
03:16Here in Palawan, generally, we will experience fair weather as well.
03:22The temperature in Kalayaan Islands is 26 to 32 degrees Celsius.
03:26In Puerto Princesa, it is 26 to 33 degrees Celsius.
03:29A large part of Visayas will experience rain showers and thunderstorms.
03:36The temperature in Iloilo is 25 to 33 degrees Celsius.
03:40In Cebu, it is 26 to 32 degrees Celsius,
03:43while in Tacloban, it is 32 degrees Celsius.
03:46A large part of Mindanao will experience isolated rain showers and thunderstorms,
03:52especially in the afternoon and night.
03:54We hope that it will still be hot in the afternoon here in Mindanao.
03:57The temperature in Zamboanga is 24 to 33 degrees Celsius.
04:01In Cagandeoro, it is 25 to 32 degrees Celsius,
04:04while in Davao, the temperature is up to 34 degrees Celsius.
04:08We do not have high gale warnings in any part of our country.
04:12That is why we are trying to expand our marine vehicles,
04:15even small boats, to our neighboring islands.
04:18Just be careful if we have thunderstorms,
04:21which can sometimes make the waves of our ocean stronger.
04:24We will continue to follow various social media platforms
04:29on X, Facebook, YouTube, and our website pagasa.tuesda.gov.ph,
04:34especially for the update on the Dindo storm
04:37that we expect to see the Philippine Area of Responsibility this morning.
04:41And on our social media platforms, we will release our thunderstorm advisories,
04:45rainfall information, flood advisories, and heavy rainfall warnings.
