LondonWorld's Rahman Osman and ManchesterWorld's Michael Plant react to Manchester City's 2-0 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Transcript
00:00Myself and Rahman are here today at Stamford Bridge after Manchester City won 2-0 in the opening weekend of the Premier League season against Chelsea.
00:08A display I think City will be quite happy with, but Rahman, what do you think of it from a Chelsea perspective?
00:13How will Enzo Mourez be feeling after his first game in charge of the Blues?
00:17Well, he just told us that the performance was good and the only difference was that City took their chances and Chelsea didn't.
00:24Then I think there was a bit of honesty in that first half, I thought Chelsea were quite good.
00:30City are the best team in England, maybe in Europe and Chelsea are bold and I'd say work in progress.
00:37But there are a lot of also big red flags, there's been a lot of investment in Chelsea and last season City didn't beat Chelsea.
00:47But this season they have beaten them and so there will be a bit of question marks in there.
00:52At 90 minutes, Stamford Bridge was flat, but I have to admit that during the game, especially in that first half they were cheering on the team,
01:00they were edging on the team, so that's a bit of positives we can get.
01:04But aside that, it's literally trying to find the positives.
01:10But we'll see, first game of the season, hopefully it's just a false start and going forward we will see some positives.
01:19I'd agree with that, I think from a Chelsea perspective there were actually plenty of positives.
01:22They kept possession very close to 50-50, it actually very rarely happens against City and limited them to just 11 shots over the course of the game.
01:29So that's an encouraging sign for Chelsea, but I don't think from a City perspective they were certainly up to top speed yet.
01:36They're still very much easing into the start of this Premier League season.
01:39Obviously they had so many players away involved in the international tournament and I think you could see there was a number of players who aren't up to 100% fitness yet.
01:47I think that will come over the weeks for City and I think the important thing is that even for the opening game of the season they managed to grind out an important three points.
01:54It was hard fought, they didn't create a huge amount of chances, but ultimately all that matters is they're coming away here from Stamford Bridge with three points.
02:01I thought there were some encouraging performances from Rico Lewis who played it right back, but he was excellent going forward.
02:06Created plenty of opportunities for City to maintain possession and build attacks.
02:10I thought Matteo Carvajal was good at the base of midfield, but some good performances from City, but certainly plenty to improve on as the weeks go on.
