00:00I'm very grateful to SPJIMR for truly transforming my professional life because before SPJIMR
00:13I was working with the Indian railways and I was an arts graduate so the first exposure
00:17to business and first exposure to marketing and information management technology happened
00:23at this very institute two decades ago and my autumn placements with Procter & Gamble
00:31is what made me fall in love with brand building, FMCG, sales, marketing and over time I was
00:39able to kind of build a great career in the intersection of consumers, technology and
00:43brands and the foundation that I've been able to build at SPJIMR is I think added terrific
00:52value that goes way beyond the degree and the network that it actually gave me like
00:58made me two friends for life so yeah value is an understatement.
01:06A big shout out to the batch of 2002 from SPJIMR we have an incredible set of leaders
01:14right now really leading businesses across the world so very very proud of my batch wherever
01:22you are you guys rock and more than that I think believe it or not we are all very
01:28well connected even today on our whatsapp groups and during our reunion 15th reunion
01:34there are more than 50-60 people actually turned up and spent a couple of days you know
01:40together we have get togethers in different parts of the world it's not a network these
01:46are friends for life and as they grow in their own careers this is going to be the
01:53most valuable friendship and most valuable network you will ever have.
02:03It's been two decades since I graduated from SPJIMR and when I reflect the advice that
02:10I would give myself is join a tech company sooner that's that's one reflection that I
02:17have because it's a whole new era out there and I think no matter which stream or which
02:27you know which specialization that you are interested in it's really important to have
02:33to have a tech lens to problem solving to invest in competencies like critical thinking
02:38leadership and creativity I think there is a lot that you can imbibe while you are here
02:48and just do not get bogged on very clearly having a clear path to career but be open
02:58to opportunities and believe in serendipity and focus on being the best in whatever you
03:05are learning right now so all the very best.
