A List of Historical Markers ["As America Has Done to Israel" by Chaplain John P McTernan] in Answer to the Question, Does God Really Still Work in the Lives of Men and in Nations?

Transcript
00:00All right. Now, if you have your Bibles, and I hope you have, turn to the book of Genesis with me tonight, please.
00:08The book of Genesis, chapter number 13 and verse number 14.
00:16Genesis chapter 13 and verse number 14.
00:24These are called the books of Moses.
00:26Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, the Torah.
00:31Genesis chapter number 13 and verse number 14.
00:36The Lord said to Abram, after that lot was separated from him, lift up now thine eyes and look from the place where thou art, northward and southward and eastward and westward, for all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it and to thy seed forever.
00:56And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth, so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered.
01:05Arise, walk through the land and the length of it and in the breadth of it, for I will give it unto thee.
01:12Then Abram removed his tent and came and dwelt in the plain of Mamre, which is in Hebron, and built there an altar unto the Lord.
01:23Father, bless this book now in your holy name, amen.
01:27You can be seated.
01:29When God placed Adam in the garden to dress it and keep it, you and I both know that he fell.
01:35And when he fell, man began his downward spiral away from God.
01:41So it was up to the Lord to make himself known to mankind.
01:46He didn't choose to do it through religions, through all the pagan gods out there.
01:50He chose to call a people after his own name, but he did that by calling one man, and that man was Abram.
01:58He called him from Ur of the Chaldees, and I'm playing words from the midst of the Babylonian power and authority,
02:04in what's called the Valley of Mesopotamia, the land between the rivers, the cradle of civilization.
02:10And he called Abram from that and began to reveal to him what God intended to do to mankind and for mankind, but he would do it through Abram.
02:19He changed his name, added the fifth letter of the Hebrew alphabet, He, added it to his name.
02:25Abram means father. He added the fifth letter, which became high father, Avraham.
02:30Abraham now is the high father.
02:33To him, he promises land, son, and also to this man, he says that I will bless them that bless thee and curse him that curseth thee.
02:42In Genesis chapter number 12, when he called him from Ur of the Chaldees, here's what he said.
02:47Abram, get thee out of thy country, from thy kindred, from thy father's house, unto a land that I will show thee,
02:53that I will make of thee a great nation, I will bless thee, make thy name great, and thou shalt be a blessing.
03:00And I will bless them that bless thee and curse him that curseth thee, and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
03:08Now that's quite a bit. That's a considerable amount when you consider that you've said this to one man,
03:13and to this man, God says I'm going to bless all mankind through you.
03:18What did Abraham, I'm sure, say to himself and said, now what have I done to earn this?
03:24Why has God chosen to call me from all these other people?
03:29But whatever the reason, God chooses, and when He chooses, He chooses.
03:33And He doesn't have to give an account to anyone, because He's the Almighty.
03:37Now what we're looking at here happened 1,900 years before Christ.
03:42Almost 4,000 years ago, God called Abram from Arithecaldes.
03:47Abraham is a contemporary of Job.
03:50The book of Job was written possibly by Job or someone around 1,900 years, we don't know.
03:58But we do know this, we do know that this area where Abram was called from, from Arithecaldes into this new land,
04:05was a land that was different from any other land,
04:08because when he got there, there was a fellow by the name of Melchizedek, Melchizedek.
04:13And his name means righteous king, king of righteousness.
04:17And the Bible tells us that Abraham paid tithe to him because the less is blessed of the greater.
04:23A lot of people have their ideas about who Melchizedek was.
04:27I'm not sure I know who he was.
04:29Some say he was Christ incarnate before the flesh.
04:32Some say he was Shem, possibly had lived that long.
04:35This one, that one, this one, that one.
04:37I don't worry about stuff like that because to me it's not all that important.
04:41What is important is that we know who Abraham was.
04:44And he said, I'll bless them that bless thee.
04:47Now think about 4,000 years, almost 4,000 years later,
04:51and here you live in a contemporary society,
04:54and you're watching a war as it broke out October the 7th last year.
04:58And this war is continuing at this moment.
05:01Right now the ancient Iran or ancient Persia is about ready to strike Israel.
05:07We don't know when.
05:08We don't know where.
05:09But we do know this.
05:11We do know that we may very well be on the cusp of World War III.
05:15We may be.
05:16Who knows?
05:17If it does happen, it'll be a world war unlike any before it.
05:23Nothing, nothing, nothing.
05:26So tonight I'm going to give you some, I don't know what you call them, coincidences.
05:34You might want to call it a coincidence.
05:37You might want to say, well, what you've done is stretching.
05:41You're stretching things.
05:44I'm not going to do that.
05:45But what I am going to give you are facts and only some
05:48because there are many more than what I give you tonight.
05:52But I think what I'm going to give you is enough that should spark your interest.
05:57It should cause you to begin to wonder,
05:59does God really work today in the lives of men and moving nations?
06:05Does He set up one and take another down, as He said?
06:08Is He still doing that?
06:10Let me give you some of the facts.
06:13On the 1st of August, 1914, World War I started
06:18with Turkey aligning with Germany.
06:20Under cover of war, Turkey killed about 2 million Armenians.
06:24This is an Armenian genocide.
06:26It's yet to be answered today.
06:27Turkey will not do it.
06:29But they murdered 2 million Armenians for being Christian
06:34and were about to kill all their Jews in Palestine.
06:38On the 4th of August, 1917, the U.S. declared war on Germany,
06:43but not on Turkey.
06:45Instead, threatening Turkey if they massacred Jews and Christians,
06:49Turkey, for fear of war with the U.S.,
06:52allowed the U.S. to send food, medications,
06:56and to ship over 100,000 starving Jews from Joppa in Palestine
07:02to Alexandria in Egypt via 20 trips of the USS Tennessee.
07:08The U.S. thus saved Zionism.
07:11David Ben-Gurion and many of the Israeli future leaders,
07:16the British took Palestine,
07:18and U.S. President Woodrow Wilson supported Britain
07:20to issue the Balfour Declaration on November 1917,
07:26granting Jews the right to return to Palestine
07:30to start a Jewish nation.
07:32The United States' hand was directly involved
07:36in the formation of a Jewish nation,
07:39directly involved.
07:41On 8th of November, 1942,
07:44the U.S. Army landed in North Africa to fight the Nazis
07:48who were starting to kill Jews.
07:51The U.S. Army attacked the Nazis from the west
07:54while the British Army attacked them from the east,
07:56crushing the Nazi Africa Corps
07:59and thus saving 400,000 Jews in Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, and Libya.
08:06On 14th February, 1945, on his way back from Yalta,
08:10listen carefully,
08:12President Roosevelt agreed with King Saud of Saudi Arabia
08:17to provide military protection in exchange for favored oil rights.
08:22King Saud also asked Roosevelt not to support
08:27the creation of a Jewish state in Palestine,
08:31to which Roosevelt agreed.
08:34On 5th April, 1945, we're looking at just a few days later,
08:38Roosevelt reassured King Saud that America would not recognize
08:43a Jewish state, thus opposing God's plan for Israel.
08:48On the 12th of April, 1945, just one week later,
08:53President Roosevelt died and was replaced by Harry Truman,
08:58who strongly favored a Jewish state in Palestine.
09:01Israel was born May 14, 1948.
09:06At this time, Egyptian planes attacked Tel Aviv,
09:09so Truman immediately recognized Israel and secured it.
09:12David Ben-Gurion, needing military leadership,
09:15asked U.S. Colonel David Marcus, son of a Romanian Jew,
09:20Ph.D. in law and commander of U.S. Army Ranger School,
09:24to lead Israel's army against the Arabs.
09:27He compiled Israel army military doctrine and tactics.
09:31He led Israel to victory against Egypt and saved Jerusalem.
09:36God chose America to protect Israel.
09:39God blessed the U.S. military, economy, and universities
09:43and cursed Russia.
09:51On 3 September, 1999, U.S. Secretary of State
09:55Madeleine Albright met Yasser Arafat and Ehud Barak
10:00to give land away.
10:02On 3 September, 1999, Hurricane Dennis,
10:06after five days waiting off the coast, struck North Carolina.
10:1113 September, 1999, Albright arranged another meeting
10:15in Israel to give Israel's land away for peace.
10:1913 September, 1999, Category 5,
10:23Hurricane Floyd grew with 155 mph winds.
10:28On 16 September, 1999, it hit North Carolina,
10:32causing millions to evacuate and destroying
10:3718,000 square miles of the state.
10:4111 October, 1999, the Israeli government,
10:44pressured by Clinton, evicted Jewish settlers
10:48from 15 West Bank hilltops.
10:51On 15 October, 1999, Hurricane Irene
10:56hit North Carolina, and on 16 October, 1999,
11:01the fifth most powerful earthquake,
11:047.1 on the Richter scale of the century,
11:08in the U.S., shook three states.
11:11One year later, 12 through the 26th of July, 2000,
11:17Clinton, Arafat, and Barak met at Camp David
11:21to divide Jerusalem and to give Israel's land to Palestinians.
11:26During these meetings, giant forest fires erupted
11:30in western USA, burning 7 million acres.
11:34In July through August, 2000, 25,000 firemen
11:40failed to put them out.
11:42Rain also stopped in Texas.
11:46Due to the failed Camp David talks, July 2000,
11:50Muslim riots broke out in Jerusalem,
11:52leading to Barak's government collapsing
11:55around 29 October, 2000.
11:58Political chaos followed in Israel
12:00until Barak resigned 9 December, 2000.
12:05From 7 November to 12 December, 2000,
12:08U.S. had a chaotic, hung election.
12:11Do you remember that one?
12:13The hanging tabs?
12:15On 6 June, 2001, President Bush sent CID Director
12:20George Tenet to Israel to stop Israel building
12:24in the settlement areas.
12:26On 8 June, he met with Arafat and Israeli officials.
12:30From 6 to 11 June of the same year, 2001,
12:35Tropical Storm Allison dumped three feet of rain
12:38on Houston, Texas, damaging 25,000 homes,
12:4250,000 cars, and doing $4 billion worth of damage.
12:50Why 9-11?
12:53On 9 August, 2001, a suicide bomber in Jerusalem
12:56killed 19 Israelis and injured 100.
13:00Later that day, Bush condemned it and demanded
13:03that Israel abide by the U.N. Resolution 242 and 338
13:08to retreat to indefensible pre-'67 borders,
13:13give up the Golan Heights, East Jerusalem,
13:16end West Bank settlements, and negotiate with their terrorists.
13:20Bush agreed to recognize a Palestinian state
13:24at the U.N. on 21 September, 2001.
13:28Powell would notify the Saudis of this
13:30on 13 September, 2001.
13:33On 11 September, 2001, Muslim terrorists hijacked four planes
13:39to attack the two New York World Trade Centers
13:43and the Pentagon, killing almost 3,000 people,
13:46causing $40 billion in damage and massive stock market losses.
13:5421 September, 2001, U.N. meeting was postponed
13:58till 10 November, 2001, due to 9-11.
14:02Here, Bush spoke about terrorism in two states.
14:06On 11 November, 2001, Arafat spoke at U.N. about a Palestinian state,
14:12then met with Secretary of State Colin Powell.
14:15On 12 November, 2001, an American airline jet crashed
14:20while taking off from JFK Airport,
14:23killing all 265 people aboard.
14:27And I remember that plane crash because it's associated with 9-11.
14:31Arafat's speech was 15 miles from the crash site.
14:38April 2002, after fighting Israel,
14:41restricted Arafat to his Ramallah headquarters.
14:45On 28 April, 2002, U.S. pressured Israel to lift the siege.
14:51The same day, many tornadoes, up to 318 miles per hour,
14:58hit Missouri, Maryland.
15:00On 30 April, 2003, the U.S., U.N., E.U., and Russia
15:05drafted Israel's Roadmap for Peace, Land for Peace.
15:09And then from 4 through 11 May, 2003,
15:12while Powell promoted this on the Middle East,
15:15a record 412 tornadoes hit the United States.
15:23Things are happening every time the United States
15:26and the rest of the world gets involved
15:27in taking that land away from Israel
15:32and creating a two-state so-called solution,
15:37which is not a solution.
15:39You saw what happened October the 7th.
15:44My, my, listen to this.
15:4616 August 2005, due to great pressure from Bush and Rice,
15:52Ariel Sharon's Israeli government
15:54sent 40,000 soldiers into Gaza
15:57to remove 10,000 Jewish settlers,
16:00destroying their homes and 21 Gaza settlements,
16:04leaving only 21 synagogues and huge greenhouses
16:08that produced 15% of Israel's vegetables.
16:12The last Jewish settlers were removed from Gaza 22 August
16:16and from Samaria 23 August 2005.
16:20When Muslim Palestinians were given control of Gaza,
16:24they destroyed 21 synagogues and all greenhouses.
16:28On 23 August 2005, just when Israel removed
16:33the last settler, Hurricane Katrina,
16:38hit and left Florida.
16:41On August the 29th, 2005, Hurricane Katrina
16:46returned as a Category 5 hurricane
16:50with a record 30-foot high storm surge,
16:53heavily damaging New Orleans
16:55and entirely devastating the 50-mile Mississippi coast.
17:0030 August 2005, some New Orleans levees broke
17:05and water from the lake flooded 80% of the city,
17:08destroying 120,000 buildings,
17:1170% of the city's structures
17:13with a repair cost of $200 billion
17:16with a 230,000 square kilometer disaster area
17:20the size of Britain.
17:23On this day, the Homo Mardi Gras was planned.
17:30I'm only giving you a small portion of the information
17:33that I've got, a small amount.
17:36After you begin to see this,
17:38you cannot say this is just coincidental.
17:41There is no coincidence to it.
17:43The Almighty is doing something
17:46and He definitely does it in relationship to Israel.
17:51Let me read a couple more for you.
17:54On 21 September 2005,
17:57Israel handed four Samaria settlements
18:01to the Palestinians who destroyed them.
18:0321 September 2005, Category 5 Hurricane Rita
18:08with 175 mile-per-hour winds
18:11hit Texas, $10 billion in cost.
18:16On 11 September 2008, due to Rice's visits,
18:20Israel agreed to give East Jerusalem to the Palestinians.
18:2414 September 2008, Prime Minister Olmert
18:28offered Palestinians 98% of the West Bank
18:32and East Jerusalem.
18:3411 September 2008, Hurricane Ike headed to Texas.
18:40600 miles in diameter, 20-foot storm surge
18:44destroyed the Texas coast and Galveston City
18:47at a cost of $52 billion.
18:5113-14 September 2008, Lehman Brothers'
18:56$613 billion bankruptcy was the largest in U.S. history.
19:02It ignited the worst credit crisis
19:05and stock market crash since 1929.
19:09How many of you remember that?
19:11Oh, yeah.
19:1225 September 2008, at the height of the economic crisis,
19:17Bush met with Abbas to divide Jerusalem.
19:2129 September 2008, Jewish New Year,
19:24Feast of Rosh Hashanah.
19:25The Dow dropped 777 points.
19:299 October 2008, Jewish Yom Kippur, Day of Atonement.
19:33The Dow Jones Stock Index fell 679 points.
19:3715 October 2008, Jewish Feast of Tabernacles.
19:41The Dow fell 737 points.
19:44Three days fall was 2,193 points.
19:50One year after 9 October 2007,
19:54the U.S. stock market lost $8 trillion.
19:58This crash was caused by many fraudulent loans
20:01to people who could not afford to repay them,
20:03paralyzing the home building industry.
20:05Many U.S. homes could not be sold for $1,000.
20:09As Obama stopped Israel from building homes
20:12on their land in East Jerusalem, Gaza, and the West Bank,
20:17now Americans lost their homes
20:20and could not build on their own land.
20:2611 March 2010, the government of Japan
20:32deplores the decisions of the government of Israel
20:35to give permission for the construction
20:37of 1,600 housing units in East Jerusalem
20:42and 112 West Bank units.
20:45On 11 January 2011, Japan condemns
20:51the demolishing of a part of the Shepherds Hotel
20:54in East Jerusalem with a view to constructing
20:57new housing units for Jewish people.
20:59On 11 March 2011, just two months later,
21:06while Japan was pressuring Israel
21:08to give their land to Muslims,
21:11Japan experienced three disasters
21:14causing much of Japan's land to be evacuated.
21:18The 9.0 earthquake triggered a 14-meter-high tsunami
21:26which caused a meltdown in three of Japan's
21:30six Fukushima nuclear reactors,
21:33spreading radiation over a great area.
21:36300,000 people evacuated the radiation zone
21:40and 15,884 people died due to the tsunami
21:49from pressuring Israel.
21:53And then finally this one.
21:5619 April 2010, Israel celebrated its Independence Day
22:02and their return to the land.
22:0519 April 2010, Obama announced that the U.S.
22:08would no longer automatically stand with Israel in the U.N.
22:1320 April 2010, the Deepwater Horizon oil rig
22:19exploded in the Gulf of Mexico,
22:22killing 19 and creating the worst environmental disaster
22:27in U.S. history.
22:30On Tuesday, 22 January 2013,
22:37Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Rajak
22:40visited Gaza's Hamas terrorist rulers
22:43to show solidarity and our support
22:46for the struggle of the Palestinian people.
22:50We are one Muslim nation, he says.
22:54On March 8, 2014,
22:57Malaysian Airlines Flight 370
23:01disappeared with 239 people aboard.
23:06That plane has never been found.
23:10It's still out there somewhere.
23:1417 July 2014, Malaysian Airliners Flight 17
23:19was shot down over the Ukraine by a Russian Buk-Buk missile.
23:27Source for this, as America has done to Israel,
23:31by John P. McTernan.
23:34And you can find his material on the Internet.
23:36This man is well-read, obviously well-researched.
23:41So what's all that mean, preacher?
23:43It means that you better watch how this country deals with Israel
23:48as it's dealing with its enemies right now.
23:51That's what you better watch out for.
23:53Until the Lord Jesus Christ comes back,
23:56we'd better be very careful when the Bible says
23:58he'll make Jerusalem a burdensome stone.
24:02And that's exactly what it has become.
24:04The most important city on the face of this earth
24:06is not New York, London, Paris.
24:08The most important city on the face of this earth is Jerusalem.
24:13And 2,000 years ago, who would have thought it?
24:16Who 2,000 years ago could have ever conceived
24:20the culture we have today,
24:22the technology that's available today,
24:24and the fact that the Jewish people would still be the Jewish people?
24:28They're there, folks.
24:30I'm their friend, not their enemy.
24:34I'm their friend.
24:36And we can close tonight with this from the 11th chapter of the book of Romans.
24:41This is one of the reasons that I'm a dispensationalist, among many others.
24:47There's a lot more information in this material that I have here.
24:50If you'd like to read it, you're certainly welcome to it.
24:52For the sake of time, I didn't read it all.
24:55And it's good.
24:57This is good stuff.
24:59But did I give you enough tonight to show you
25:02the connection between the way you treat Israel
25:06and what God does in response to it?
25:09In Romans 11, verse number 8,
25:13According as it is written,
25:15God hath given them the spirit of slumber,
25:18eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear.
25:21And to this day, who? Verse 1.
25:24I say then, hath God cast away his people?
25:27God forbid.
25:29For I also am an Israelite
25:31of the seed of Abraham of the tribe of Benjamin.
25:34The apostle Paul was never ashamed of his heritage.
25:38Not one time.
25:39His religion? Oh, yeah.
25:41But not his heritage.
25:43Chapter 11, verse number 25.
25:45Your scripture says,
25:46For I would not, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery,
25:49lest you should be wise in your own conceits,
25:52that blindness in part has happened to Israel
25:55until the fullness of the Gentiles be come in.
25:58So the apostle Paul,
26:002,000 years ago when he wrote the book of Romans,
26:03said there's going to be an Israel.
26:05Verse number 26.
26:07And so all Israel shall be saved, as it is written.
26:11There shall come out of Zion,
26:13Zion the deliverer,
26:15and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob.
26:18For this is my covenant unto them,
26:20when I shall take away their sins.
26:24As concerning the gospel,
26:25they are enemies for your sakes.
26:27They reject the gospel.
26:29But as touching the, what?
26:31Election.
26:33They are beloved for the Father's sake.
26:36See the double application?
26:38Two sides of the coin.
26:40Now look at verse number 32.
26:42For God hath concluded them all in unbelief,
26:45that he might have mercy upon all.
26:48And so what happens here?
26:49Well, the apostle Paul begins to rejoice.
26:52Oh, the depths, verse 33,
26:54of the richest both of the wisdom and knowledge of God.
26:57How unsearchable are his judgments
26:59and his ways past finding out.
27:01For who hath known the mind of the Lord?
27:03Who hath been his counselor?
27:05Who hath first given to him,
27:07and it shall be recompensed to him again,
27:09for of him and through him
27:11and to him are all things.
27:14To whom be glory forever.
27:16Amen.
27:18So when does Israel get saved?
27:20They get saved when they look upon him whom they've pierced.
27:24And when they look upon him whom they've pierced,
27:27they're going to see the nail prints in his hands.
27:30And they're going to say to him,
27:31where did you get these?
27:33And he's going to say,
27:34I got them in the house of my friends.
27:37He'll identify himself with them
27:39and they will mourn for him
27:41as one that mourneth for his only son.
27:44There's a great day of wailing and weeping and crying
27:47coming for the Jew.
27:49The Jew is going to have a personal confrontation
27:51with his maker.
27:53That's coming, folks.
27:54We are about to leave here.
27:57There's too much happening now.
27:59Too much.
28:01Watch, folks.
28:02These are very unusual times.
28:04Watch what happens now with Israel
28:07in the next few days.
28:08And watch the direction
28:11that the government of this country takes
28:14as it deals with Israel.
28:16Remember now,
28:17in the scale of time,
28:20America is a newborn in diapers.
28:24Israel is the ancient people.
28:27Amen.
28:28They were old when Columbus sailed the ocean blue.
28:32Amen.
28:33They'd been around a long time.
28:35Remember that.
28:37And truth is,
28:39a lot of the smart men say this,
28:41America is an experiment.
28:44And it really is.
28:46It's a melting pot,
28:47the joining together of many cultures
28:49to create one.
28:51America is not a cultural identity.
28:53America is an ideological identity.
28:57What do you believe?
28:58What makes you an American?
29:00That's what creates us in this nation.
29:02And the foundation for that
29:03is what's called the Constitution
29:05of the United States of America.
29:07It constitutes us.
29:08It brings us together.
29:10It gives us foundation.
29:11It gives us identity.
29:12It gives us purpose.
29:13It tells us who we are.
29:14That's what an American is.
29:16All right?
29:17And that's what they should be.
29:19Wherever you come from,
29:20your greatest identity should be,
29:23I'm an American.
29:25I'm an American.
29:26But the problem is
29:28that we are fighting today.
29:30This is a fractured country.
29:33It's unbelievable.
29:34The people out there now are saying
29:35we're just a few steps away from a civil war.
29:39And I honestly believe
29:40that there's some fools out there that want one.
29:43That's right.
29:44And I don't pull punches.
29:47A man that wants a war
29:48doesn't know anything about a war.
29:50He has no idea what a war is.
29:52But I know this.
29:53Even so come, Lord Jesus, come.
29:56Amen.
29:58Father, thank you for your word, Lord.
30:00I've given out a little information tonight.
30:02I pray the folk take it and think on it.
30:04There's a whole lot more, much, much more
30:07than what I gave them.
30:08But I pray you'd bless what's been put out.
30:10Maybe it'll spark a desire inside them to know more.
30:15And that would be good if they do.
30:17In Jesus' name I pray.
30:19Amen.
