00:08And in my opinion, in the category of Golden Hero of Gymnastics,

00:12Yulo thanks those who helped him, including his friend, the Filipino-British gymnast, Jake Jarman.

00:27That's for two-time Olympic gold medalist.

00:30And a big thank you to Carlos Yulo from GMA Compound.

00:34With Yulo is the Gymnastics Association of the Philippines President, Cynthia Carion.

00:39They were accompanied by GMA executives,

00:41led by President and Chief Executive Officer, Gilberto R. Duavit Jr.,

00:46Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Felipe Estiano,

00:50Senior Vice President, Attorney Annette Gozon-Valdez,

00:53and Senior Vice President and Head of GMA Integrated News, Regional TV and Synergy, Oliver Victor D. Amoroso.

01:01And I say very proud and very grateful for the opportunity to personally meet him

01:07and congratulate him and thank him.

01:09To thank him for the inspiration and the strength he brings us all.

01:15The hope he brings to everybody.

01:17The whole company is so proud of what Yulo has achieved.

01:22So, for GMA, one of our core values is excellence.

01:28And he excelled that.

01:30So, we're so proud.

01:32For Carlos, everything that happens to him is still like a dream

01:36after the historic victory in the Paris Olympics.

01:40In the Olympics, I just want to win a medal.

01:44And the medal itself is what I've been dreaming of since I was 12 years old.

01:50I'm so grateful for this joy.

01:53Carlos told us how he felt during his floor exercise routine.

01:58Before I started on the floor, I saw that I was 14.9 plus the score of my competitor.

02:04I was like, no, I'll just focus on myself.

02:08And then, I'll show what I practiced, what I did.

02:13So, I'm so happy.

02:15But I didn't know that I would get a gold medal.

02:19It seems like it's even harder for Carlos to get a gold medal.

02:24One of the people who helped him here is the Kappa gymnast and Filipino-British,

02:29Jake Jarman of Team Great Britain.

02:31He considers him a close friend.

02:34In my second gold medal, I had a hard time.

02:37He wasn't consistent.

02:40I taught Jake when I was in training camp.

02:45His technique really helped me.

02:50I told him to teach me more.

02:52Jake agreed.

02:54Yeah!

02:56Carlos has a lot of experience in his career.

02:59He also gave a message to his Japanese coach, Munehiro Kugimiya,

03:04as well as to the people who helped him to get used to Japan.

03:08Yes, thank you very much.

03:10I will continue to teach you more.

03:16What does that mean?

03:18Thank you for your support.

03:20From the heart, I want to thank you.

03:24Carlos is very happy about his return.

03:27He bonded with other athletes from Team Philippines.

03:31I'm really excited to see AJ.

03:33I know he had a hard time in his journey.

03:37I'm really proud of what he did.

03:39I really respect our athletes.

03:44They inspire me.

03:48Carlos didn't expect the homecoming parade.

03:51Just now, they are preparing for the 2028 Olympics.

03:56If we can, we can do it.

03:58I want him not to go alone,

04:00but to have a team of four other gymnasts.

04:03I'm trying to look now for a foreign coach.

04:07In the return of the golden hero of gymnastics in the country,

04:10many are hoping that this will be the emblem of the golden era,

04:14not only of Philippine gymnastics, but also of Philippine sports.
