00:00Looking at the most feared subjects, so what are people most concerned about going into
00:06the exam period?
00:07It won't come as a surprise to anyone that maths was up there in the most feared subjects
00:13and I think maths has a bad rep. We need to change the narrative around rep. It can come
00:19from parents, from grandparents, from uncles and aunts. Oh, maths was terrible at school.
00:24We need to change that narrative because everyone needs maths skills and everyone needs to understand
00:28maths and it's the way that schools are teaching it, the way we're teaching it and also the
00:33way we talk around it. Maths is a skill that needs to be practised and you need to immerse
00:39yourself in it just like a language and I think that we all need to get together, the
00:43whole of the world and stop with this maths is terrible because it really does affect
00:48students and we need to just prepare them well enough and know that it's a skill that
00:53they will use in their lives and it's a skill that if they practise enough, they will master.
