00:00It's Sportskeeda Wrestling, I'm Kevin, I'm the voice you hear often hear, and I'm
00:08also someone that reads the comments on YouTube.
00:11Yes, many of you commenting with your hot takes.
00:14Some of them may be hotter than pancakes, some of them may be colder than pancakes that
00:19have been left out, but you think are hot takes.
00:22So let's get into your hot take, hot takes, moving along, no more breakfast references.
00:27Give us your take on these takes in the comments below.
00:31This one from DarkLightningInferno6006, that's a lot of lightning and inferno.
00:38He says Jey Uso deserves to win his first singles championship at WrestleMania 41, either
00:44the IC title, the Intercontinental, or the United States Championship.
00:49Jey Uso has been there, I mean, really my take on that is he's a guy who is upper mid
00:54card for sure, gets an insane reaction.
00:58The yeet live is real, that is not something to be overlooked.
01:02It may seem like something that I think maybe more regular fans watch, and they're just
01:09like, oh, that's a cool entrance, but seeing it live, it is something else.
01:12Also, I think he's an underrated wrestler, but I do think he needs to have that match
01:15that people go, oh wow, this guy can contend, this guy can test.
01:19I'd love to see a little bit more meat on the matchy bone with Jey Uso, but I can see
01:24that happening.
01:25Don't know if it's going to happen at WrestleMania 41.
01:27This one from nerdachuster7510, he says, there's too many titles right now in multiple companies.
01:36You know, I hear this from especially the diehard fans who watch all of the week to
01:39week wrestling, All Elite Wrestling has, I think, so many championships.
01:42I doubt many of you right now without Googling it can name all of the champions, if you also
01:48include everybody from Ring of Honor.
01:50But now I hear some people saying this about WWE as well, because you have a set of champions
01:54for Raw, you have a set of champions for SmackDown, you have a set of championships
01:58for NXT, now you have those two speed titles, a part of WWE's deal with X, I'm not going
02:04to call it Twitter, but they have two of those.
02:07So there's a lot of people saying there's simply just too many championships to keep
02:10up with, and when you have so many championships, does that dilute the championships?
02:15To some degree, yes.
02:17But I don't know if you're doing something like the 24-7 title, which was designed eventually
02:21to just become a joke, and that's what it was, and it was done away with.
02:25But this is, you know, you look at something like the Speed Championship, one of those
02:28titles that were really pushing the patience of people with these short matches, it's designed
02:34to be a short, fast, cruiserweight style match title.
02:38And that's what it is.
02:39Now they're going to have one for the women's.
02:40Is that simply just too much?
02:41Now they have two women's titles in NXT.
02:43I'm not trying to take anything away from the women in NXT at all.
02:47But some people are saying there's simply too many titles for them to mean what they're
02:50supposed to mean.
02:52That's a fair thing.
02:53And if you're in a bigger company, as much as WWE is, I guess you can test that.
02:58With AEW, even though they have a whole lot of TV, they don't feel as big as WWE does,
03:03and they don't have divided, you know, conferences or divisions.
03:06Like the roster of SmackDown and Raw are different.
03:08You know, the roster of Dynamite and Collision, it is a little different, but not too different.
03:13Do you understand what I'm saying?
03:14Here's a comment from KwaijonJack10.
03:17He says the overuse of blood and language isn't needed to make wrestling promotions
03:24better.
03:25It should be a surprise factor when you see blood in a match or a way to add heat to a
03:31feud by using the F word, for example.
03:34The overuse of both doesn't enhance wrestling, if anything, it makes it worse and ruins the
03:40specialness of it.
03:42I will agree with this.
03:43I know 18 people clicked like on this comment.
03:46I agree.
03:47I mean, I know a lot of people just want to see the Attitude Era come back and they want
03:50to see, you know, risque television and allusions to those things, but I think you kind of already
03:55get them.
03:56I think you get that from WWE, especially right now.
03:58You've been getting it from AEW basically the entire time they've been on television.
04:03Overuse of it, yeah, I do think sometimes, you know, blood should be a special thing
04:08to get to a big match.
04:10We saw that kind of with what Cody Rhodes and The Rock did to get to WrestleMania.
04:14And Cody got beat up by The Rock before WrestleMania 40 that really added some heat, using the
04:20term from the comment here, to the match.
04:22And then there's been other circumstances where people saying the word B. I'm not going
04:27to say the word B because I don't know what YouTube filters are going to pick this up,
04:31but the B-I-T-C-H word, that word is like the steel chair of words now.
04:36You can use it, but does a steel chair, you know, is it as special as another new fun
04:41wild weapon?
04:42You know, that's another thing.
04:44And what words can you get away with and what words are your TV partners okay with?
04:48Those are all things you need to factor in.
04:49But yeah, I agree with this.
04:51Here's one from Awesomesauce11823.
04:54He says, CM Punk is overrated.
04:57I can't get over his backstage antics.
04:59Not a team player.
05:00I just think this is kind of a played out thing, especially with all the All Elite stuff
05:04and then him making the leap to WWE and then everyone saying, oh, well, you know, he went
05:09to court with WWE and he hated them and he bashed them and all these different things.
05:13But it's a different WWE.
05:16He's coming back to a completely different company with a completely different backstage
05:20culture and a feeling to it.
05:22So I think that's kind of out the window, specifically the WWE stuff.
05:25Other people saying the AEW stuff.
05:27I guess there's some debate there, but, you know, saying he's not a team player, he's
05:31a very passionate guy who has his opinions and let his opinions be known.
05:36Some people want to label him not as a team player because he simply doesn't conform when
05:39that's the entire idea of what makes him special is he's not a conformist style wrestler.
05:45He doesn't kind of fit into the mold of a lot of famous wrestlers.
05:49And he is a famous wrestler and he's a very successful one, a very influential one.
05:53I do think he hasn't been able to really get into his stride just yet as an in-ring performer
05:57with WWE since his return because of that injury.
06:00And then I think while he's kind of dormant but active in the storylines and being physical
06:06but not having, you know, big feature matches, but he started to have that again, you know,
06:11wrestled at SummerSlam and, you know, did an angle and had a very successful angle,
06:15by the way.
06:16The stuff he's doing with Drew McIntyre is good for Drew.
06:18It's good for Seth Rollins.
06:19They're going to have big matches.
06:21And I think CM Punk is back to be a team player in a way that you're not seeing.
06:24I think he's a guy that wants to do a whole lot of stuff with NXT.
06:28And that's kind of been alluded to in some reports and different things like that.
06:31That's just me speculating.
06:32That isn't like a hard report, by the way.
06:34I could see him having that type of role as a guy who's at this point in his life and
06:38this point in his career, trying to remind you that he's CM Punk and that, you know,
06:41the stuff on the back end of AEW isn't exactly who he is or what his legacy is all about.
06:47You cannot take away his success and the things he's done.
06:50That isn't me defending him.
06:51That's simply the facts.
06:52Whether or not he's a team player, I guess there's some debate there.
06:56But I just think it's kind of a shallow argument.
06:59Lucas Frappier 782.
07:02He says, We need unique designs for the stages for premium live events, not the same boring
07:08big screen with the same show on it.
07:11I've heard a lot of this.
07:13I get this often.
07:14When are they going to change the look of the show?
07:17When is the look of things going to look different?
07:19And also like AEW did that.
07:22And now you already hear people saying that they need to change it again with WWE.
07:26I think it's a matter of cost effectiveness.
07:29Running a weekly television show for WWE is very costly.
07:34And how you keep things cheap is you keep things standardized.
07:37When they moved to HD, they changed the sets of the shows.
07:41And when they had to, they were spending, it was a big expense on them.
07:43And that was a long time ago.
07:44And they've changed the set since then.
07:46Obviously, you look at something like a WrestleMania, a special set is brought in for that well
07:51over a week in advance and designed just for that purpose.
07:55And it is a one and done.
07:56It's a large, large expense.
07:58When you have something that you can shop up and bring town to town, and it's the standardized
08:03look of that TV show, it becomes a little bit more effective.
08:06It's not cost effective to have that.
08:09Now, some of you may be claiming that that's boring, but WWE is trying to dress up things.
08:13You also see them kind of going back to a basic look where they're using less screens
08:17and people entering and there's crowd all around them.
08:19I was at a SmackDown where there was less of a big giant screen at the All-State Arena
08:25and more seats were added, thousands of more seats were added because there was a demand
08:29for it.
08:30It was the last one when they were in Chicago.
08:31And that felt special to simply have a smaller screen and add more fans around it.
08:36I think that adds to the element of it too.
08:38And I think it's kind of an underrated part of the element.
08:40I agree with you though.
08:41There should be, for the premium live events at least, there should be something physically
08:45that looks different that makes it feel grander.
08:47I know for some people they're like, oh, they're just walking out from an entranceway and then
08:50the crowd's there.
08:51I was like, but if you're live at these events, that looks really cool.
08:55If they use almost all of the stadium, like they did at SummerSlam, to have these entrances,
09:01there's people everywhere and you can just kind of feel that energy, specifically after
09:05the pandemic.
09:06I think that's a special thing.
09:07I'm still kind of feeling that.
09:08I get this, but I also think it's not the biggest thing.
09:12But when Raw and SmackDown move to new TV partners, you know, SmackDown's going to be
09:16moving in September of 2024, and Raw could be making that big leap to Netflix, SmackDown
09:22on USA Network.
09:24I would think that they would have some new looks there, maybe.
09:26No report to confirm on that right now though.
09:29Nickabellic8627 says, they have made Jakob Fah 2 fiend level.
09:35Only Bill Goldberg can stop him.
09:38And I love your Hank Hill avatar there.
09:41Bobby, Bobby, only Bill Goldberg.
09:44So Jakob Fah 2 making a big splash.
09:46I was at his debut in Chicago there again, and you could tell the temperature changed
09:51once he got out there.
09:52And I know the big argument, you've heard us say this in some of our videos, is that
09:55maybe he's overshadowing Solo Sokoa and the entire Bloodline thing.
10:00He's such a special guy.
10:01He's so big and he can move.
10:03And the fact that he's an aerial big man, that's very rare.
10:06I mean, we haven't seen someone like that, you know, maybe since Bronson Reed, but there's
10:10just something different about a Jakob Fah 2.
10:12He stands out.
10:13He has, oh, what's the word?
10:15The aura.
10:16Oh, that's my hot take.
10:18Stop overplaying certain words like aura in conversation because you can't contextualize
10:24an argument.
10:25Jakob Fah 2, I don't know if he's at fiend level.
10:27Fiend level would be that he is unbeatable.
10:30And this guy is more of an enforcer and a supporting character so far.
10:34Say he's at fiend level and he's not there yet, eh, a bit of a reach.
10:37Only Goldberg can stop him.
10:39I don't know about that.
10:40I don't know if we'll ever see Goldberg in another WWE match, though.
10:43He wanted one and was angry that Vince McMahon didn't give him one and maybe he gets to have
10:48one more.
10:49Maybe it's, would Jakob Fah 2 spear him and give him his last match?
10:52That'd be a wild scenario.
10:54Harmony 9810.
10:56The solo hatred is both bandwagon and follow the leader to meet.
11:00And since Jakob debuted on the roster, it seems like people are using him to be very
11:05hypocritical towards Solo because I didn't see any of this aura BS, thank you, and hatred
11:11when he was playing the exact same role being Roman's enforcer.
11:15Said what I said.
11:18You really want to, you really want to get under people's skin with said what I said.
11:23Uh, yeah, we've done several, uh, videos on the channel about Solo.
11:27Is he ready for this role that he's in?
11:29But I think that's kind of the appeal of it.
11:31And you'll hear me say this is I think the appeal is, by the way.
11:34Oh, he's he ready?
11:35Is he ready to be this guys?
11:37You're not supposed to like the villains.
11:40You're supposed to boo them.
11:42And if you don't think Solo is ready for the role, but he's in it and you boo him, you're
11:48kind of playing into the idea that he just forced himself in that position and he didn't
11:54earn it.
11:55And that's kind of the idea.
11:56And I agree it is kind of hypocritical.
11:58Uh, and the aura thing is just silly.
12:01People just heard aura once and they repeated it.
12:04Aura, one of the most played out words of 2024 King Blitz 800-1X1JT King Blitz.
12:12Okay.
12:13He says Triple H's product is boring.
12:15NGL not going to lie.
12:17Not saying Vince, who's this Vince you speak of, was doing better, but at least you couldn't
12:22tell what was going to happen in 99% of the matches predictability.
12:29This is so tweezery.
12:31This is just trying to find something to say.
12:33You're not having fun trying to say, I was against it and I got to stay against it because
12:38if I change, then, then they, then they turn me over.
12:42Um, I'm not, WWE is on a solid streak right now.
12:45I'm not saying everything they're doing is amazing, but, uh, you know, saying it's boring
12:49is ridiculous.
12:50It's, it's distilled.
12:52It's gotten back to a more pure form of pro wrestling, you know, defined roles, you know,
12:56where people stand on certain issues.
12:59Will they or won't they is the tease of where they will jump on certain topics and the page
13:04turning.
13:05You're more, you're more compelled to see what happens next and the angles they do between
13:10matches are not just simply based on a long drawn out dialogue.
13:14They have some physicality to build to those things that is meaningful and varied.
13:18Uh, and, uh, and I, you know, calling it boring and also saying that 99% of the matches are
13:23predictable, I think there's a reach.
13:25Are a majority of them predictable?
13:26Yes.
13:27Predictable doesn't mean bad.
13:30Predictable is not bad.
13:31If I go to see a Marvel movie, I know the good guy is going to win.
13:35Now what if the bad guy wins?
13:37Oh, swerve, right?
13:38Uh, but I, I don't think you can't just claim that anything that's pretty cool is bad.
13:43Is it too predictable?
13:44Can they not swerve you along the way or keep you guessing?
13:47And then you get to the ending that you knew was going to happen, but the ride to get there
13:50is compelling.
13:51That's the part you need to slow down and pay attention to.
13:55The bloodline story has to end as soon as possible.
13:58It's getting beyond boring Roman or not.
14:02Uh, this one from Javier one 33, uh, you know what?
14:06I don't think you're alone.
14:08I've heard more and more people say this.
14:09I don't know if it needs to end as soon as possible.
14:12There is this abrupt thing of fickleness with fans.
14:15You know, uh, we were supposed to get Roman versus rock at a WrestleMania 20, 23 WrestleMania
14:2239 in Los Angeles.
14:23That was a big rumor going into that year out of 2022.
14:26Roman was on that ride, right?
14:28And he got Cody and beat Cody.
14:30And then, uh, you know, things changed the next year because we were supposed to finally
14:33get Roman versus rock at WrestleMania 40 and rocks a part of the company and it changed
14:39and extended the life of this story is more compelling than I think people give it.
14:44Uh, but I do think there is a sense of, uh, do we need it on TV as much as it is?
14:49Is there a way to make it lengthier, but not overexposed?
14:53I would say that, uh, so it is a SmackDown specific, but I could see it becoming more
14:58of a raw thing.
14:59Uh, by the time we make the move to Netflix, Maddie Davis, 1078 MJF is wasted in AEW.
15:07He should be in WWE main eventing PPVs, John Cena versus MJF.
15:14Just imagine that.
15:15Well, I'll get to the John Cena MJF one, but is he wasted in AEW?
15:20I don't know about that.
15:21Obviously he's going to be in a prominent role when they do this big show at Wembley
15:24stadium.
15:25I think he'll still have a consistent role into the, you know, right on top of it.
15:29Pay-per-view at all out.
15:30Uh, he is a guy who's dedicated to AEW.
15:33He is a big star in AEW.
15:35Is AEW as hot as WWE right now?
15:38No.
15:39And that's just kind of a surface level observation.
15:41I've heard a lot of people say a personality as big as MJF needs to be in WWE.
15:46And he alluded to this with the bidding war of 2024 type stuff and then came back after
15:51his injury at the end of 2024, came back a few months ago as a baby face.
15:55But now it's once again a heel and he needs to stay a heel.
15:58He's a much better heel.
15:59Now fans will cheer for him, but they also love booing him most, most part.
16:03And I think the dynamic of him going up against a John Cena would be amazing because John
16:08Cena has really quieted a lot of people that used to boo him.
16:11There's a lot of people now that respect John Cena for being such a faithful face of the
16:15company.
16:16And when he comes back, it feels like a special deal.
16:19He's going to go into his final year of entering competitions.
16:21So I'm sorry.
16:22I don't think you're going to see an MJF John Cena match.
16:25I think that's just one of those matches that's going to be on the shelf.
16:28You're not going to have a contractually free MJF, free to be able to have that match.
16:33It is WWE going to go with MJF just leaping over from AEW and give him one of John Cena's
16:39handful of final matches that he's going to have in 2025.
16:43I just don't see it happening.
16:45Though wouldn't it be something special?
16:47So good on you, Matty Davis, for that one.
16:49What are your hot takes on these hot takes?
16:51Let us know in the comments below.
16:52What is your wrestling hot take?
16:56One sentence.
16:57Can you let us know in the comments below?
16:58Maybe we'll use it in a future video.
17:01I'm Kevin Kellum.
17:02This is Sportskeeda Wrestling.
17:03Hit the bell, you know, the subscribe thing and then hit that like button.
17:07That's the one with the thumb on it.
