00:00I read that you had a project finished, and it was going to be Ganger, and then you decided
00:07to rework.
00:08Is that right?
00:09Rework the project?
00:10Yeah, something like that.
00:12What motivated that, or inspired that change?
00:15I don't know, really just feeling like it was a project.
00:18I like to feel like it's a project, not just a list of songs, but I gotta get that feeling,
00:24and I gotta, like, wrap that feeling, you know what I'm saying?
00:29Is it something like that you feel with the connection with the production, or the connection
00:33with you and where you're at in life?
00:35I mean, like, each song was a different day, and me thinking different, going in a different
00:40mood, different vibe, different environment.
00:44But it is important to me to, like, to the point I feel it's good, and I know my fans
00:54gonna feel the same way.
00:55So when you were starting out, did you ever feel the, like, pressure to be someone else,
01:01or maybe to change your voice, or to try to hop on beats that were like this because those
01:05were popular?
01:06Or how did you get to the point where, you know, you're a very singular artist, but how
01:11did you get comfortable to be just these, and not be like anything else?
01:14I don't follow trends and stuff, so that's just how I make music, like, totally opposite.
01:20If there's things going like this, or there's certain trends going on in the culture, I'm
01:26gonna go.
01:27It don't matter whoever like it, like it.
01:30Right, so you're gonna go right?
01:32I'll try again.
01:33You gon' go.
01:34Yeah.
01:35So thinking about your process from 2019 to 2024, how has that process changed, and how
01:42has your process stayed the same?
01:44I don't know, I be just, I be at the studio a lot.
01:48Back then I used to be kind of like lazy, yeah, but now I love rapping.
01:57I love what my fans love, I love performing and stuff, so it's just like falling deeper
02:03in love with the craft, and wanting to be better than I was the last time.
02:08Yeah, I think that's like, that's a really special thing to know that that's what you're
02:12sacrificing and doing all this for.
02:14You know, like, I don't know exactly what's on the other side of it, but I know that I
02:18have to show up and work and approach it this way and really take it serious, because
02:22I love this thing.
02:24So a lot of people on the internet have been saying, be the president, have you seen that?
02:29They're looking at you like you're, it's Obama 08, because of your bar.
02:33You said make hating illegal, right?
02:35Which I very much would like that to happen, but if there, what else could we add to that
02:39list?
02:40If you were president, if you were in the Oval Office, what else would we make illegal?
02:48Too young kids with guns.
02:53Too much, they got too much access to guns, too young, and be strict around that.
03:04Violence being shown, like, they should stop showing, like, when somebody get killed on
03:09camera, like, they shouldn't show it.
03:11Right.
03:12A lot, that's a few things, but I don't want to, I ain't a politician.
03:18We're just trying to make hating illegal one bar at a time.
03:22That's all we can do.
03:23Yeah.
03:24That's all we can do.
03:25So you just announced your tour, and you have Caribou, and you have Starbands, right?
03:30Opening.
03:31Swizz Havoc and Starbands, Caribou, I'm still waiting to see what it's gonna be, but yeah.
03:40What made you want to choose those people to get the crowd ready for you?
03:44They people who I'm a fan of, and I mean, we all a fan of each other, but just like
03:51that, fuck with them, I fuck with their movement and what they got going on.
03:55I met Wiz having a bunch of times, he'd come to concerts and perform with me, and performed
04:03his songs for me when we was in Florida, here, Florida, so whenever I'm in Florida, if he
04:08around here, come do a song and rock the crowd, I fuck with Wiz.
04:12I fuck with Starband, she a young woman who, shit, first time I seen her, she just been
04:18on fire.
04:19I like that.
04:20I like that.
04:22Is there anyone that you think that we're not listening to that we should be?
04:26I don't know.
04:27I listen to all my friends, man.
04:28I feel like all my friends is like the best rappers, like that, but I really like, I like
04:35Tommy Richmond, I like M. Triplett, who else?
04:43I like Boss Bandilo, there's a lot of people who I feel like, they growing, but I feel
04:54like still a lot more people, I feel like they should know those people.
05:00Yeah, all of them, Sam Shabazz, that's my homie, Nutty Loz, Nutty and Loz, they real
05:13dope.
05:14I got a lot of dope friends, so I feel like they gonna catch the right song and blow up
05:20though.
05:21It's very clear that you're a fan of music and you're a fan of your friends, like just
05:26before this, you were at Sexy Set and I love that because like you said earlier, it's like
05:31you're a student of this craft and in order to do that, you have to look at your peers
05:35and be like, respect it, like when you see parts of yourself and what they're doing,
05:39whether it's just like choosing to be themselves or representing their own kind of sounds,
05:43like you have to respect it and like show that love.
05:45I like that, it's a little bit of, you know what I'm saying, that's where we, that's where
05:50we're similar at like doing our own thing and not caring what people think, I like that,
05:56man.
05:57It's actually cool though, that's my guy, we like this, we always laughing and DMing
06:02each other funny stuff, so she's cool as hell, she reminds me of one of my cousins or like
06:09the girls I grew up with for real.
06:12So before we get out of here, I want to think about your music, obviously you rep Detroit,
06:17so I want to know what's one thing that's like undeniably Detroit about the music that
06:23you make and the sound that you create and then one thing that is completely just out
06:28of Michigan, out of space, like out of world, I want to look at the, I want to look at your
06:33sound a little bit.
06:34I just don't, I just don't do nobody, I don't do what other people do, I don't go with trends,
06:38that's, that's really, that's really my main thing, I just stay of course doing me, I don't
06:44want to change and I'm still always be a fan, I'm still always be a fan while I'm being
06:49an artist too.
06:50Oh yeah, that's, that's a big part of it, like I still be a fan, I still be a fan, I
06:56still fans a lot of my, my peers and my friends that I consider family.
07:03We all like help each other get better.
