Aggies head coach shares his thoughts on Texas A&M vs. Texas rivalry
Transcript
00:00Why don't we skip ahead to November 30th, when Texas and Texas A&M play.
00:04I bring this up because it's the first time since 2011.
00:07We're talking, Mike, about a rivalry that began in 1894.
00:12So how much has your alumni and fan base been talking about this game?
00:16And what do you think that scene might be like in College Station that day?
00:19Yeah, I mean, it's going to be wild.
00:23I think, first of all, it's great to have the rivalry back.
00:26I don't think Texas and Texas A&M shouldn't play each other.
00:30In a state where football is so important, like it is in Texas,
00:34for the two big programs in the state to not play each other never really felt right.
00:39And so it's great that they decided to join the SEC, that we get to rekindle this rivalry.
00:44What it's going to feel like on the 30th, I've told people this.
00:47I think it's going to feel like a smaller version of a Super Bowl.
00:50It will.
00:51I mean, there's going to be so many former Aggies, former Longhorns wanting to be on
00:55the sideline, the star-studded people in and around the sideline, the game.
01:01It's going to be wild.
01:02And so we're fortunate that we get to bring it back.
01:04We're fortunate that it's going to be here in Kyle Field.
01:06And yeah, it's one game at a time for sure.
01:09But I knew exactly where you were going with that question the second you started it.
01:12So yeah, it's something that's on our mind.
