00:00What made you want to join the show for this season?
00:02Well, I've been friends with the creator, the brilliant John Hoffman.
00:06He's my good friend for 25 years, 30 years, maybe 30 years.
00:10And he was like, Ma, do you want to come on the show?
00:13And I was like, I would love to.
00:15And my friend J.J. Philbin, who's a producer on the show,
00:19was like, you know, we have this character we think you'd be great for.
00:23She's a Hollywood producer who's making a movie out of the Only Murders podcast.
00:28So the trio, Steve, Martin, and Selena, comes to Hollywood,
00:32and I'm like, gotta get them to agree to make a movie about the podcast.
00:36So I've never played a Hollywood producer.
00:38It was really fun, and I based it on a lot of people who I've worked with.
00:43I'm not going to say who.
00:45But she's kind of a very aggressive, sharky kind of producer.
00:51What was it like working with Martin, Steve, and Selena on the show?
00:54It was great.
00:55Well, they call it the happiest set in Hollywood for a reason,
00:58and it's because it is the happiest set in Hollywood.
01:02It's a party on camera and off camera,
01:06because you have Steve and Marty sitting around eating their tuna fish sandwiches,
01:10Selena having so much fun, laughing, cracking up.
01:14Then you have Eugene Levy visiting Meryl Streep.
01:17It feels like you're at the funnest party, and then you go shoot.
01:21So it's just exactly what you might imagine that would be like.
