00:00Hello everyone, Paul Branson Reviews here and much more, movie reviews, tours, events.
00:09But today I am doing bison.
00:12Now bison I believe is a bull, unless I'm just stupid and I don't know what bison is.
00:18But I've never tried bison before.
00:20I'm going to give it a shot today.
00:21It's from Superior Meats Exotics that I have tried if you've kept up with my show.
00:26I've done crocodile, kangaroo, and many other types of meats from exotic sticks.
00:32These are sticks with no added fillers, natural smoked, and it doesn't need to be refrigerated
00:36that I actually kind of like.
00:39Because some of them I've had before that were a bit tough, and as it doesn't need to
00:42be refrigerated, once it opens, it actually softens up a bit.
00:46So sometimes it might be chewy the first time, but not the next.
00:50And I've noticed that in some of their meats.
00:52That's why sometimes it's a little hard to review, because some of them are kind of like
00:56hard to chew, but some of them are nice and soft.
00:58So I'm kind of hoping this one's soft.
01:00And it's gluten free and MSG free as well.
01:05Now the calories are 130, and there's no fiber in this or nothing like that.
01:09Cholesterol is 30, the fat is 12, the saturated fat is 15, 17 sodium I think.
01:18It keeps on coming off on me now.
01:21I never used to do that.
01:22Now pork, bison, salt, sugar, spices, oh spices.
01:27So maybe it's going to be a nice spicy taste to it.
01:31And again I always seem to forget I have a beautiful Swiss Army knife that I keep on
01:34forgetting to bring.
01:36I bought a Swiss Army knife because I lost my old one.
01:39I still don't...
01:40Watch me find it one day.
01:41That's what happens.
01:42I lose something, I think I do, and then I find it years later.
01:46But I bought a brand new one, and I keep on forgetting to bring it with me.
01:50So I have to use my teeth, and hopefully it won't be that hard to open them up.
02:08I'm spitting now, sorry about that people.
02:11But you know what, back in the day when we were kids, I'm sure you remember a lot of
02:15candy that we used to open.
02:17Back in the day, taking your bike to the corner store, getting treats, realizing you
02:23can't open them, so you'd use your teeth and open them.
02:27This was a little hard to pull out.
02:30Now a lot of times, and I don't tell a lot of people this, I take these off because I
02:34find that when I eat these little tail ends, they actually kind of bother my throat a little
02:39bit.
02:40This one doesn't seem to have it, but when it kind of has something like that, I just
02:44go, and I don't eat it.
02:48So you don't really lose a lot, but you lose maybe a little bit.
02:51Here it doesn't seem to have it.
02:53But some of them do, some of them don't.
02:56A little rubbery again, well this one, here we go.
03:01And I find that too, sometimes some of them are kind of hard to pull apart, and some of
03:04them are very easy.
03:09And some of them are greasy.
03:11This one's not too greasy.
03:27This one's very soft, and it's easy to chew.
03:33It has a very strong flavor, I'm just honestly not sure if I like that, no aftertaste, so
03:39sometimes when there's a strong flavor, I notice an aftertaste.
03:44Mm-hmm, that's actually, I had a little bit of a hard time swallowing it, but overall,
04:12it's good.
04:24It's easier to chew than some of the other ones, but as I said earlier, sometimes if
04:31you just leave it out, because you can, you don't have to put it in the refrigerator,
04:37it just softens up a bit once the package is open.
05:01The consistency in some of the bites, some were softer than others, and you would think
05:06that it would be all the same.
05:11There is a bit of an aftertaste, but I don't, oh I just coughed a bit.
05:17Okay, I would give this one a 7 out of 10, I like it.
05:24But it does really have a strong taste, and it seems to leave that strong taste with you
05:29for a bit.
05:30I'm feeling the strongness of it now, and a little bit of an aftertaste, the aftertaste
05:35is fine, but leaves that really strong flavor.
05:39It's good, but it could be annoying.
05:42I kind of wish I had a drink on me, but I try to see how long it lasts in my mouth without
05:46taking a drink.
05:48That's why I never drink something.
05:50I want to see how long the aftertaste lasts, but other than that, yeah, I'm kind of coughing
05:57a little bit.
05:58I didn't have trouble swallowing it though.
06:02Maybe the first bite I did.
06:03No, no, no, the second bite.
06:04Sorry, I did have a little bit of trouble there.
06:07Okay, well I give it a 7, I give it a 7, maybe a 6.5, between 6.5 and a 7 out of 10.
06:15I do like it though.
06:18Not as greasy.
06:19Actually, it is greasy.
06:20It's greasy just as well as on my hands.
