00:00In the Indian market of scooters, we've seen a whole lot of new electric vehicles come
00:15in.
00:16However, ICEs, that's taken a little break, but now TVS has come out with one of their
00:21older offerings, but redesigned, reimagined and with a whole lot of new features, the
00:26Jupiter 110.
00:28In this video, I'm going to be telling you guys about what the Jupiter has to offer and
00:33what all new features we get on this and stay tuned guys because trust me, there are a whole
00:37lot of features that we get on the new Jupiter 110.
00:40Welcome to DriveSpark, I'm Vedant Johari and let's jump right into this video.
00:53So starting off with the design aspect of this.
00:56Well, looking at the front end first, we get this really nice piano black finish located
01:01right above our main headlamp unit.
01:03Now our headlamp unit has an LED light and all the lighting we get on the Jupiter 110
01:08is LED.
01:09And if you guys see there are no indicators at the front, that's because located with
01:13our DRL, integrated with our DRL is our indicator.
01:18I'll show you guys a small clip of that.
01:20Apart from that, the DRL that we get spans completely from the left to the right of the
01:25front of the scooter, similar to a connecting light bar.
01:30And apart from that, we get a little more piano black finish just to enhance the premiumness
01:35of the scooter.
01:36Then apart from that, looking at it from the side design, well, the dual tone finish still
01:42continues to the side design of the scooter.
01:45We get the Jupiter logo in chrome located right here.
01:49And apart from that, as you can see, it's a little longer, it's a little more muscular
01:53than the previous Jupiter.
01:55Apart from that, looking at the scooter from the rear, well, the same connecting light
01:59bar, the same DRL that we get in the front, we get at the rear, again with integrated
02:04indicators.
02:05And this also spans from one end to the other of the rear section.
02:10Then we also get the TVS badging in chrome located at the rear with this really nice
02:15and sturdy piano black finish grab handle.
02:18Now coming to the engine, well, the previous Jupiter 110 that was sold came with a 109cc
02:25engine, but this one, the redesigned one, comes with a 113cc air-cooled engine that
02:31produces around 8bhp and 9.2Nm of torque with the IntelliGo system inactive.
02:39Now with the IntelliGo system active, the torque pumps up to 9.8Nm.
02:45So what is this IntelliGo system?
02:47Well, it's basically called the TVS iGo Assist, which gives you that extra power and that
02:54extra grunt for when it's needed in traffic, when you need that extra boost to overtake
02:58vehicles or just to go in and out a little quicker.
03:01So the fuel tank that we get on the Jupiter is a 5.1-litre fuel tank.
03:06Now, if the mileage of the scooter is, let's say around 40 to 45 kilometres per litre,
03:13official numbers aren't out yet, so let's say around 40 to 45 kilometres per litre with
03:17the 5.1-litre fuel tank, you can go up to around 200-220 kilometres on a single tank
03:24on the Jupiter 110.
03:26So for TVS Smart Connect, we get an app on the mobile phone that lets us see everything
03:31regarding our scooter.
03:33So starting off, let me show you a few of the features that we get and one thing that
03:36we get is known as Find Me.
03:39So let's say you've gone out shopping to a mall and you've parked and you're done with
03:43everything and you can't find your scooter.
03:46So how do you find it?
03:47Well, all you've got to do is open the Smart Connect app and we have an option called Find Me.
03:51We click that and our blinkers, our hazard lights blink with the indicator sound to find
03:58the scooter.
03:59So that's one of the features we get with Smart Connect.
04:02Now apart from that, we get a bunch of other features such as navigation, voice assist
04:08and ride statistics.
04:11So I'll show you how navigation works.
04:14Well, basically all you need to do is open the navigation screen on the Smart Connect
04:18app and we can choose a location.
04:20So let's say I choose Hebbal as the location and as you guys can see, the moment I click
04:25start, it just needs to connect and we can get our turn-by-turn navigation on the dash.
04:32So now it's showing in 130 metres, take a left turn.
04:37So that's how simple it is on the Smart Connect app.
04:41So we also get voice assist on the Smart Connect.
04:44So how do you use that?
04:45Well, where our start button is, we just need to hold that button down for a few seconds
04:52and then on our dash, something pops up known as listening.
04:56So once listening pops up, that's when we have to speak and put in whatever commands
05:01we want.
05:02Now there are a whole lot of commands which we can use to get various sets of information.
05:07So for example, let me show you nearest petrol pump.
05:10I just need to click the start button for like a few seconds.
05:14So that's how the voice system works on this.
05:17And finally, we also get our ride statistics.
05:20So when we open that, we have a whole lot of features such as our distance to MTR range.
05:27Basically all the readings we get on this is shown on our phone as well.
05:30So that was how this TVS Smart Connect app works.
05:34So now coming to the seating position of the Jupiter 110, well, I'm 6 foot 1 and as
05:43you can see, I'm quite comfortable on this scooter.
05:46I have quite a bit of space to the front.
05:48I'm not hitting anything, nor am I too cramped up on this scooter.
05:53The whole posture, rider's triangle is very, very comfortable.
05:57In spite of me being 6 foot 1, there's still plenty of space at the rear for someone else
06:01to come and sit, if I'm taking a pillion with me.
06:04So the seat comfort is also tremendous.
06:07It's super comfortable.
06:09It's not, the seat isn't too soft, nor is it too hard.
06:12It gives us the right balance between both.
06:16And now coming to the whole riding experience, well, with the Aego Assist, you really do
06:23feel that extra power from around 0 to 60, around 60 kilometres per hour.
06:31The top speed of this is set at around 84, however, depending on your weight and your
06:35body size, that could change.
06:38Coming to the braking point of this, well, at the front, we get disc brakes and at the
06:41rear, we get a drum brake.
06:42However, what enhances the braking is TVS's inclusion of something called SBT, known as
06:48Synchronised Braking Technology, works the same as combi braking systems.
06:53So when you hit your rear brakes, your front and your rear engage, that really, really
06:57helps with how the scooter stops.
06:59Now coming to individually pressing the brakes, well, the front brakes are a little sharp,
07:04so when we go on our front brakes, you do feel the front drop down a lot and, but with
07:11the rear, we do get the balance between front and rear, so it really, really helps the control
07:16of the scooter.
07:18Now coming to the suspension of this, well, the front suspension, as you guys can see,
07:23is quite soft.
07:25It's very bouncy, but then again, for a scooter, you aren't really looking for stiff suspension,
07:30you aren't looking for something that's just going to hold, you are looking for ease, you
07:35are looking for comfort, you are looking for practicality and that's what this offers you.
07:39And for the rear suspension, well, it is on the stiffer side, I can't really bounce on
07:44the rear seat to show you guys, but it is on the stiffer side, it doesn't, it's not
07:50uncomfortable, it's not a problem for the pillion, it's fine, honestly speaking, but
07:57it is just a little bit on the stiffer side.
08:07So now what other convenient features do we get on the Jupiter?
08:10Well, one of the main features is the front fuel cap, so this aids us a huge way as we
08:18don't really need to get off the scooter to refill, we can stay seated and we can just
08:23pop open our fuel cap and that's about it.
08:25So now apart from that, to aid convenience, we also get a cut-off for our indicator and
08:32hazard lights, so let's say we switch on our indicator and forgot to switch it off, after
08:37either 30 seconds or around 100 metres, the scooter will sense that your indicator is
08:42still on and switch it off automatically.
08:45That same system, that same technology is there for the hazard lights, the moment we
08:49switch our hazard lights on, after 30 seconds or around 100 metres of riding, it will switch
08:55off by itself.
08:57Now how do you engage hazard lights on the Jupiter 110?
09:00Well, the same button that we use for our indicator, all we need to do is hold that
09:06down for around 3 seconds-ish and our hazard lights are active.
09:11So TVS has really done a good thing for safety on the Jupiter 110 and paid good importance
09:17to it, so for example, when we're riding our scooter, let's say we're doing around 50-55
09:23kilometres per hour and traffic suddenly stops ahead of us, if we have to go hard on the
09:27brakes, for the riders behind and for the vehicles that are behind us, our indicators,
09:35our rear indicators will blink and send out a warning sound to alert the others on the
09:40road that I'm braking hard, so be aware of what's ahead of you.
09:44And apart from that, they also give us an auto start-stop feature on this, again to
09:50save our fuel and to basically increase the whole economy of the scooter.
09:55The fuel tank that we had on the previous Jupiter was located a little rear than where
10:00it is now.
10:01Now, it's located somewhere under the centre of the scooter again, giving us that better
10:06centre of gravity and the better balance that we require.
10:10So I hope you guys enjoyed the video, don't forget to like, comment and subscribe.
