00:00All right, let's go and create some new hope in Pittsburgh for
00:03the Pittsburgh Steelers. Joe, it's time for some team previews.
00:07We've been doing them each and every week, folks. If you missed
00:09anything, just go back in the archives. They are all there.
00:11Incredibly informative and entertaining because Joe is
00:15steering the ship on this. Joe, let's talk about the Steelers
00:18here, and I just got to start at this quarterback conversation.
00:20I mean, I honestly don't think Russell Wilson is under center
00:23after, say, week four, but what do I know? Thoughts? Yeah, I
00:27actually think that's a pretty good earmark of the schedule.
00:33It feels like from yesterday that they want to continue to
00:36plow forward with this whole Russell Wilson thing, and I say
00:40that because I think we know where the Steelers are right
00:44now, and I think we know where Russell Wilson is in his career.
00:49I think it's rude to say a guy is washed up or any of that. I
00:52just don't think he is a quarterback you can win with at
00:57this stage in his career. I think that's a better way of
00:59putting it because Russell Wilson's been a guy that's
01:02taken teams and won Super Bowls. I mean, we can say, well,
01:05it was on the back of the defense of the Seattle Seahawks
01:07and all that stuff, and that's fair, but at this point in time,
01:11I look at the schedule, and we like to do this sometimes on
01:13the show, so they got the Falcons to open, right? And the
01:16Falcons defense just added Matthew Judon and Justin
01:18Simmons. That's a pretty good defense. They have an easy
01:21matchup here against the Broncos in week two, then week
01:24three, another matchup that's very winnable at home against
01:26the Chargers. Then they play the Colts and the Cowboys and
01:30the Raiders. Now, the Cowboys and Raiders defenses
01:33specifically, like by the time we get to October 13th, things
01:36are going to get a little tricky there. So if Russell
01:40Wilson should struggle against some of those lesser teams,
01:43this could be a very quick hook. So we'll see what
01:46happens. I'm still putting my money on Justin Fields to play
01:48more games this year. From a fantasy perspective, it's a
01:51boom or bust scenario. If you could draft him as your third
01:54quarterback in the Super Flex, it could be very exciting.
01:59I keep coming back to the same thing. Ten years. Ten years
02:02difference. That's a big difference. If you're the
02:04Pittsburgh Steelers, you have got to make sure that you are
02:07getting a look at Justin Fields to see if he's the future or
02:10not, because if he's not the future, then you need to be
02:14figuring out who is, and if he is the future, you need to be
02:16getting him reps and playing now, because Russell Wilson
02:20isn't the future, and I'm not even sure he's the best option
02:24in the present for the offense that you're going to be dealing
02:27with. So it's a little muddy situation, and what it does is
02:30it kind of brings down everybody else. Now, we talked
02:32about the Jalen Warren injury to going into the season, dealing
02:36with that hamstring. We've been told it's not a big deal. Okay,
02:39fine. The Najee Harris, Jalen Warren ADP went from being back
02:43to back to separated, where now Najee Harris has moved up to a
02:46point where I think it's almost a little untenable. I think,
02:50going ahead of Zemir White or close to Ramondre Stevenson,
02:52that doesn't make a lot of sense to me, because those guys
02:55don't share backfields, and eventually, at some point,
02:57Najee Harris is going to share that backfield with Jalen
02:59Warren. I like Najee Harris. He's a good RB, too, but he's
03:04not one I want to invest in with that kind of draft capital.
03:06So that is where I struggle here. Jalen Warren, a player
03:09that I do like, but didn't like because of the ADP, now because
03:12of the hamstring issue, he's floating around to a scenario
03:15where maybe I do like him, and that becomes interesting. One
03:18guy I do like in ADP is George Pickett. So regardless if it's
03:21Justin Fields, if it's Russell Wilson, the ADP of this guy who
03:25is being drafted as a wide receiver three, I think is
03:28perfect, because I think he's going to have some games that
03:30pop off as wide receiver one, and then he's going to have some
03:33games where the stealer's offense struggles. I think
03:35that's just going to be something we have to grasp at
03:38this point in our lives and realize there's going to be some
03:40ups and downs here with the Pittsburgh Steelers in terms of
03:42fantasy value. They're going to be a team that wants to run the
03:45football still, a team that's going to potentially play
03:49defense, run the football, keep it simple. But George Pickett,
03:52I think, earned the target share last year. I think he could
03:55certainly match this projection here of a thousand yards, six
03:59touchdowns, maybe even a little more on the touchdown side.
04:02The reason I want Fields to play quarterback is he gives
04:04Pickett more time to get open. He's fun to watch, but also he
04:08extends drives, right? So if you're a third and long and
04:12Justin Fields runs for 18 yards, that stuff is
04:16backbreaking for opposing defenses, and that gives George
04:19Pickett more opportunities. Now, the one thing is he's got to
04:21hold on to the football. We've got some fumble issues here in
04:23the preseason. I don't know if it's nerves. I don't know if it's
04:26working with the new center. Whatever it is, we've got to
04:28tighten it up because Tom was not going to stand for that. And
04:30then the last piece is Pat Fryer-Muth. So if you have a
04:34draft that really gets away from you a tight end, I've done
04:37this a few times already where Pat Fryer-Muth is the
04:38consolation prize, and I'm cool with it. Pat Fryer-Muth, I
04:41think, in the Arthur Smith offense that wants to target
04:43the tight end is actually going to be pretty useful.
04:46Excuse me, Roman Wilson, Van Jefferson, those guys don't
04:49really stand out as difference-maker wide receivers.
04:51So I think Pat Fryer-Muth, especially in the red zone, is
04:53going to be a piece that is underappreciated, undervalued.
04:56And I do think we'll finish as a tight end one, a low-rung
04:59tight end one, but one that you can start every week and say,
05:02okay, there's upside for a touchdown here, maybe some
05:04target volume as well. And Pat Fryer-Muth, I don't think gets
05:07enough credit for being how good he was because in college,
05:10this was a top-tier tight end. He flashed some really good
05:13moments. He's just had really miserable quarterback play
05:16throughout his career, right? He said Rudolphs and the other
05:20guys that are in front through there, you know, Kenny Pickett,
05:23like it has not been good for Fryer-Muth. So maybe it gets a
05:26little better this year with Wilson or Fields, both of which
05:28over upgrades of what he's had.
