00:00For two years, I did not speak a single word to my father.
00:06We had some differences of opinion and my father came and fell at my feet, putting his
00:12head on my feet, crying and begging, son please, speak to me.
00:22I remember ignoring that request.
00:27My mom said, son he is your dad, don't do that to him please.
00:32And just because my mother said, I started talking to him.
00:38Every single year, from the year 1996 until 2009, I went home to see my parents and I
00:47wanted to say, sorry dad, I shouldn't have done this to you.
00:55And whenever I went home, there was a three lettered word called ego, that told me you
01:04were right, why do you have to say sorry.
01:07That morning, when I received a call from my mom, my father passed away.
01:14He was a patient of Parkinson's disease.
01:18I went for the funeral, I remember, putting my head at my dad's feet for the one final
01:25time, dropping a few unseen tears, who nobody would ever know until I told the story to
01:31you.
01:32And those tears saying, dad, I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done this to you, I shouldn't
01:47have done this to you.
01:52You never know how long people are with us.
01:59And you cannot take a chance to mess up with the most amazing experiences of love, just
02:06because something happened.
02:09Ladies and gentlemen, forgiveness is the foundation of a meaningful, deep, true relationship.
02:19To let go, if somebody has hurt us, and to say you're sorry, if we have hurt somebody.
02:28And letting things go, is what makes relationships profound, meaningful and deep.
02:36Which is why I say, when you say you're sorry, it doesn't mean that you are wrong.
02:44It just means that you value the person and the relationship more than being right.
02:51You have to choose, what do you want, being right or love?
