Tasmania's Premier signs deal with ex-Jacqui Lambie Network MPs
The last remaining Jacqui Lambie Network MP has spoken out for the first time after his two colleagues were kicked out of the party. Andrew Jenner claims they were 'too soft' in their approach with the government. He's seeking a new deal that gives him more freedom, as premier Jeremy Rockliff signed fresh agreements with the sacked JLN members.

00:20to really hold the government to account and I wanted a transparency where I guess they
00:26may have just wanted to be a bit softer.

00:43On the day Andrew Jenner said he wants a new deal with more freedoms, his ex-party mates
00:47signed one.
00:48The new deal basically allows the independents to vote how they want, but crucially guarantees
00:54they'll vote down no confidence motions as long as there's no corruption, malfeasance
00:58or serious misbehaviour and that they'll pass the budget.
01:02We want to see an agreement that gives business confidence, confidence to workers going forward
01:07that we've got a parliament that's workable.
01:09Tasmania's gave us this parliament, it means that we have to try and make it work.
01:12The Premier hoping Michael Ferguson's resignation as infrastructure minister will bring an end
01:17to threats of no confidence or voting down the budget.
01:20We've had enough of the disruptions, we've seen the impact of some of those, but surely
01:25we can all get round the table, put away the bravado, let's get on with the job, a bit
01:31of give, a bit of take.
01:33After a rocky few weeks, a new poll taken before Mr Ferguson's resignation and the JLN
01:38implosion gave a whiff of good news.
01:42It shows 36% of voters are supportive of the government, while Labor's support fell slightly
01:48to 27%.
01:50So Mr Rockleaf is well ahead as preferred Premier, the peak for 45% of voters, with
01:55Labor's Dean Winter way back on 30%.
