I Tried Office Stretching Techniques... Here's What Happened

00:00Hey guys, welcome back to my channel, I'm Bronwyn if you've never seen me before.
00:10Today we're going to be doing some very basic, easy stretches that you can do during the
00:14work day at your office because I know a lot of you will get tension in your neck and in
00:19your back just from sitting hunched over looking at your computer all day, so let's get right
00:25into that.

00:32Okay, let's get started.
00:35Alright guys, first things first, we're going to work on those arms and shoulders.
00:39You're going to just take your arm across your chest like this, and just rotate a little
00:44bit back and forth.
00:45You can even rotate your wrist a little bit when you're doing this, it feels really good
00:51doesn't it?
00:52Okay, let's do the other side.
00:59Just feel the tension melting away, it feels great.
01:07Okay, next we're going to do a little easy back stretch, so we're just going to look
01:12to the side like this, maybe put your hand on the wall behind you, and just use that
01:19as leverage to push your torso this way, while you keep the rest of your body facing this
01:25way.
01:26Again, invite a little movement.
01:27Let's do the other side.
01:28You don't really know how much tension is built up until you start releasing it, that's
01:45what I find anyway.
01:46Alright, let's do some neck stretches now, so we're just going to bring our shoulder
01:58down, and have your hand lightly, very lightly on your head here.
02:04We don't want too much of a pull because you don't want to strain your neck, especially
02:08if you don't stretch very often.
02:11Maybe for a little bit more of a stretch you can walk this hand up, and take some deep
02:24breaths.
02:25Now, it's advised to do at least a couple stretches once every few hours, and the good
02:31things about a lot of these stretches is that you can also do them sitting down.
02:35Alright, so if you have a super strict boss, like I said, you might have to do these sitting
02:39down, but it's pretty easy.
02:42We're going to start with a very easy spinal twist, just like that.
02:47And if you want a little bit more stretch, you can cross this leg for this one, and do
02:58that.
02:59You can use this leg down here, or this arm for leverage again, to kind of push yourself,
03:05push your torso that way.
03:07You can also look behind you.
03:09Let's do the other side.
03:15Feels really nice.
03:19You can also even grab onto the chair a little bit to pull yourself.
03:28Alright, let's do some ankle stretches while we're at it.
03:31So just roll your ankle like this.
03:37Feels really nice, doesn't it?
03:41If you feel comfortable taking off your shoes at work, if no one's around, you can even
03:46give yourself a little foot massage.
03:48It really depends if you're on your feet more, or if you're sitting down.
03:55Now, if I was at your job, I would definitely give you a nice shoulder massage as you do
04:03this, but I don't know, maybe you have a friend around the office who can do that to help
04:08you relax.
04:17Just spin your head.

04:34Alright, now let's work with the spine.
04:38Arch your back.
04:44It's like a seated version of the classic cat-cow.
04:50Okay.
05:04If you're feeling really adventurous, you can kind of just flop over like this.
05:11And then we stretch it all out.
05:13This one feels really good.
