00:43We're gonna have to get a little crafty

00:57So that's actually seven inches,

01:21In Australia, they come in the following sizes,
01:24regular and large.
01:25In the U.S., Taco Bell drinks come in three sizes,
01:28small, medium, and large.
01:30Let's measure them.
01:38Here's everything that you can get at a Taco Bell
01:41in Australia that you can't find in the U.S.
01:43And here's everything you can get at Taco Bell in the U.S.
01:46that you won't be able to find in Australia.
01:48We're gonna break these down into categories
01:50and go through them all.
01:52Starting with the Australian burritos.
01:55We have a Jalapeno Crunch Burrito,
01:58a Chipotle Crunch Burrito,
02:00and a Boss Burrito.
02:03Now I'm really intrigued to try all these
02:04because I have never tried them before.
02:06So I'm gonna start off with the Jalapeno Crunch Burrito.
02:10Ooh, ooh, packed with jalapenos, I can see.
02:14So you got some rice, jalapenos, beef.
02:17Yep, you've got some sauce on it and tomato.
02:23That's really hot.
02:25I feel like I'm in a lot of pain right now,
02:27but the pain is good because it's actually
02:29a really delicious burrito.
02:30Here are our exclusive burritos.
02:32Let's start with the Cheesy Double Beef Burrito.
02:36I'm gonna take a bite of this.
02:39This is what it looks like on the inside.
02:42They didn't come this way.
02:43We sliced them in half.
02:47Everything that I would want in a Taco Bell taco,
02:49just in a burrito form.
02:51It's very good.
02:52So in this burrito, we have some rice.
02:54It looks like there's tomatoes
02:55and a healthy portion of the ground beef.
02:58There are something called fiesta strips in here,
03:01which I think are fried strips of tortilla
03:04that are dyed red.
03:05I see something red in here,
03:07but it looks totally like melted.
03:09So maybe like all of the moisture
03:11just kind of made them soft and not crunchy anymore,
03:14but it still tastes really good.
03:15Now we shall try the Chipotle Crunch Burrito.
03:19We've got some little tortilla chips.
03:23I presume just like an artificial cheese taste,
03:26bit of a smoky flavor to it.
03:28I like that.
03:29Next we have the Chicken Enchilada Burrito,
03:32which I've never had this before.
03:34This sounds yummy.
03:39I'm not a fan, not a fan of that one.
03:42It's really salty, like too salty.
03:44Now we're gonna move on to the Boss Burrito.
03:48Wonder why they call it the Boss.
03:50Maybe because it weighs about a kilogram.
03:52Oh, we've got some guacamole.
03:55It's okay.
03:56The toasted meat is a bit more predominant than this.
04:02It's a lot more gamey.
04:04And these are the Grilled Cheese Burritos.
04:07So we have ground beef, chicken, and steak.
04:10So this one isn't grilled and this one is grilled.
04:13Do you see that burnt cheese on the outside?
04:18It's a little too much for me.
04:20It's like such an overwhelming amount of cheese
04:22that I think it's like crossing the line.
04:24But like burnt cheese always tastes good to me.
04:27So it's not like it tastes bad, it's just too much.
04:30We also have some burrito options
04:32that are technically exclusives,
04:34but they look very similar to some American options.
04:38So Australia has two burrito options,
04:41a Grilled Stuffed Burrito and a Beefy Cheesy Burrito.
04:45Nico, do these look similar to your Grilled Cheese Burrito
04:48and your Beefy Melt Burrito?
04:49Yes, we do have the Grilled Cheese Burrito,
04:52which we just talked about,
04:54but we don't have the Beefy Melt Burrito.
04:56Stuff just seems to disappear
04:57off the Taco Bell menu all the time.
05:00It's very odd.
05:01The main difference is ours comes with sour cream
05:04and fiesta strips.
05:05We have a decent amount of exclusive tacos here in the US.
05:08So we have the Spicy Potato Soft Taco.
05:12Apparently Taco Bell has a lot of vegetarian options,
05:15so I'm guessing that's what that is.
05:17I was like, who is ordering a potato taco?
05:20Vegetarians, duh.
05:21Let's see what this tastes like.
05:25The seasoning on the potatoes is really good.
05:27They're very flavorful.
05:29I don't mind this.
05:30Next, we have the Doritos Locos
05:32and the Doritos Locos Supreme,
05:34which is my personal favorite thing to order at Taco Bell,
05:37and I think it's Joe's too.
05:39It's just so good.
05:40Whoever had the idea to make a shell
05:43out of an inexisting delicious chip, genius.
05:46That is so smart.
05:48The Doritos Locos tacos get this special little sleeve
05:51that says Doritos Locos on it.
05:53The only difference between a regular taco
05:55and a Supreme version of a taco at Taco Bell
05:58is the addition of tomatoes and sour cream,
06:00which I prefer.
06:02I want it on the taco.
06:03Next, we have the Doritos Cheesy Gordita Crunch.
06:05This one has that special Doritos shell.
06:09Next, we have the Chalupa Supreme.
06:11And last but not least,
06:12we have the Black Bean Chalupa Supreme.
06:15I think presentation is, like,
06:16at the bottom of Taco Bell's list of priorities.
06:20The food usually tastes okay to just really, really good,
06:26but it looks like garbage most of the time.
06:29Don't get too hung up on what this all looks like.
06:31Also, if you're gonna get Taco Bell,
06:33just eat it immediately,
06:35because if you let it sit for too long,
06:37your tacos will actually disintegrate.
06:39We only have one exclusive specialty item,
06:42which is the Lava Crispy Chicken Taco.
06:46Inside, you can see there's some lettuce, crispy chicken.
06:51I believe that's being, like, deep-fried crispy chicken.
06:53Some cheese, shredded cheese, tomato.
06:58It's slightly mild, mildly spicy, but nothing unbearable.
07:03I think it's a nice chicken taco.
07:05So, on the Taco Bell website,
07:07there is a section of their menu labeled specialties,
07:10and some of them are only found in the US.
07:13The Mexican Pizza, which I've never had before.
07:16I don't think I've ever seen one before,
07:18and I have to say I'm very underwhelmed.
07:21They were dropped from the menu back in 2020
07:23in an effort to declutter the menu?
07:26This was met with a huge public outcry,
07:28and even Doja Cat got involved
07:30with asking Taco Bell to bring it back.
07:31After two years, the item returned
07:33to Taco Bell's permanent menu in September 2022.
07:36This looks like a Lunchables meal.
07:38It doesn't look like real food to me.
07:40It's actually a little unbelievable to me
07:42that people wanted this back so badly,
07:44but maybe it tastes better than it looks.
07:47Let's see.
07:48So, this is the regular Mexican pizza with ground beef,
07:51and this is the vegetarian version.
07:53So, no beef, no nothing.
07:59It doesn't taste awful, but it doesn't taste good.
08:03Not to me.
08:04I don't know what Mexican pizza sauce is either.
08:06They're just, like, adding the word Mexican
08:08in front of stuff a lot.
08:10I'm assuming that it just has the seasonings
08:13that you would find in, like, taco meat.
08:15I don't think I have to tell you
08:17that nothing that we've eaten today
08:19feels like authentic Mexican food.
08:22And also under the specialties menu
08:23is the black bean crunch wrap supreme.
08:26Our next exclusive item is a stacked hot chips.
08:30Now, stay with me here, okay?
08:32In Australia, chips are what you guys call fries,
08:35unless we're talking about tortilla chips,
08:37which are also called chips.
08:40Nachos are not considered chips.
08:42It's just straightforward, right?
08:44Hot chip is basically a fry, so it's a hot chip.
08:51Our stacked hot chips are chips,
08:53but loaded with nacho toppings,
08:55including a protein, salsa, guac, sour cream,
08:59and a cheese sauce.
09:01So, the fries are one of those things
09:02that disappears and reappears
09:04on the Taco Bell menu all the time.
09:06Today, they were unavailable,
09:07but maybe we'll find them again someday.
09:09Now, we're onto the sides that you can find
09:11only in the US, I believe.
09:13We have black beans, black beans and rice,
09:16cheesy Fiesta potatoes, and pintos and cheese,
09:20which I'm not gonna say this looks bad,
09:22but I know you're thinking it.
09:24For sides in Australia, we only have two options,
09:27seasoned hot chips and seasoned tortilla chips.
09:33Our tortilla chips have a Mexican seasoning.
09:35I managed to figure out what it was.
09:37It's now time for sauce talk.
09:40Sauce talk.
09:42So, here we have the traditional Taco Bell sauce packets.
09:45We have mild, hot, fire, and Diablo.
09:51They always give you so many sauces at Taco Bell.
09:54They're pretty good, though.
09:55I actually feel like there's not much flavor difference
09:58between them, but the heat level definitely changes.
10:01Hot is the best one.
10:03Because these, it's like, Diablo especially,
10:05sometimes it just makes food inedible to me.
10:08Next, we have chipotle sauce, avocado ranch.
10:13I believe this is the spicy ranch.
10:15It's got a lot of colors in it.
10:19Stop shaking it.
10:20No!
10:22And I believe this is the red sauce, the enchilada sauce.
10:26I've never had any of these that come
10:28in the black containers, but I've gone through plenty
10:31of Taco Bell hot sauce packets, a lot.
10:34Our Australian sauce options are a chipotle mayo,
10:38a zesty ranch, and a fiesta salsa.
10:42I'm gonna try them all and see what the goal is.
10:49Chipotle mayo is nice.
10:50Now the zesty ranch.
10:52Are you zesty?
10:55I would definitely say the zesty ranch
10:58has a citrusy flavor to it.
11:00The fiesta salsa looks like the party's all done.
11:06There was no spice to the salsa.
11:08We have a couple of dessert options
11:10you won't find in the US.
11:11We have churros and a chocodilla,
11:15which I presume is just a,
11:18it's a chocolate-filled style quesadilla.
11:22Let's give this a try.
11:25It almost verges on the dark chocolate side,
11:28which I'm not the biggest fan of dark chocolate.
11:32Let's have a look at these churros.
11:36Look at all the sugar that is on this.
11:40This is the closest to a really good churro
11:43that I've had since I was in Disneyland.
11:47Moving on to sweets, all we had available
11:49at our Taco Bell were the Cinnabon Delights,
11:53which are kind of like little donut holes
11:55filled with a cream cheese frosting.
11:58They're very delicious.
12:00If you can believe it,
12:01our Taco Bell did not have the cinnamon twists,
12:04but they are available at other locations.
12:06I don't know why they didn't have them at ours,
12:08but there's still a thing on the menu.
12:10We just couldn't get them.
12:12I've had the cinnamon twist before.
12:13They have like a good cinnamon sugar coating on them,
12:17but the actual twist itself does not taste that good.
12:21Yeah, these taste way better than the cinnamon twists.
12:24Get these.
12:25These are the exclusive drinks that Australia has.
12:27We have a Pepsi Max, a Solo, Sun Kiss,
12:317-Up, Phoenix Lemon Lemon Bitters,
12:34a Phoenix Traditional Lemonade,
12:36a Phoenix Ginger Beer, Lipton Peach Iced Tea,
12:40and an Ice Break Iced Coffee that was unavailable.
12:43A Solo is basically like a lemon,
12:47like a lemonade with a little bit of lemon.
12:49A Solo is basically like a lemonade.
12:51Lemon Lime Bitters is an Australian classic
12:54that's been around for hundreds of years,
12:56and that has like a lemon flavor to it.
13:00Got a bit of flavor as well from the Angostura Bitters.
13:03So it's just a perfect combination.
13:06And what we have discovered was this was created
13:09to soothe seasickness.
13:10Plus we also have some alcoholic options
13:12available at some locations,
13:14including Frozen Margarita, Corona, and Localized Beers.
13:18However, they have not been made available yet in our state.
13:22And here are all of the exclusive drinks in the US.
13:24So we have Pepsi Zero Sugar,
13:27Cherry Pepsi, Mountain Dew Zero Sugar.
13:30We have Baja Blast, which I'm so shocked
13:34that they don't have in Australia.
13:35It's so quintessentially Taco Bell.
13:38Baja Blasts, they go hand in hand.
13:40Then we have Starry.
13:42This is G2, which is some kind of Gatorade.
13:45Strawberry Lemonade, Brisk Mango Fiesta.
13:49And then we have Brisk Dragon Paradise,
13:51which I don't know what that means.
13:53I was guessing dragon fruit.
13:55So Starry used to be, I believe, Sierra Mist.
13:58I don't remember what Sierra Mist tastes like.
14:00Like lemon-lime.
14:02It's just a lemon-lime fizzy drink, a soda,
14:06a lemon-lime soda.
14:09Yeah, it tastes exactly like Sprite.
14:11I do want to try G2.
14:14Don't know what that is.
14:16It has less than half the carbs of original Gatorade.
14:20This tastes like a Pixie Stick.
14:23That's so bizarre.
14:25The blue Pixie Stick is exactly what this tastes like.
14:28It's basically like a diet version of Gatorade.
14:32Okay, I really want to try this Brisk Mango Fiesta.
14:39That was actually really good.
14:40It's a little too sweet for me,
14:41but the mango flavor is really tasty.
14:43And then we have the Brisk Dragon Paradise,
14:47which has blackberry, raspberry, and dragon fruit in it.
14:53Oh no.
14:55That tastes like I'm drinking hand soap.
14:58That is not good.
14:59This tastes like fabric softener.
15:01I don't know what it is.
15:03It tastes like fizzy fabric softener.
15:05So Taco Bell in the US
15:07actually has a pretty extensive breakfast menu.
15:10I've never had it before.
15:11I've never woken up and just craved Taco Bell breakfast,
15:15but let's start by talking
15:16about all of the breakfast burritos.
15:18So here we have the Cheesy Toasted Breakfast Burritos.
15:21There's a bacon, sausage, and potato,
15:24which sounds very interesting to me.
15:26All right, let's see what the potato one tastes like.
15:32It's not bad.
15:33I think that I mostly like this,
15:35but I'm not really feeling the cheese sauce.
15:38It's a really overwhelming flavor,
15:40but the potatoes are really, really yummy.
15:42And on this side,
15:43we have the Grande Toasted Breakfast Burritos.
15:46We assume that these are the grande ones
15:47because they are significantly larger than the other ones.
15:51So we have steak, sausage, and bacon.
15:54I kind of, hmm, hmm.
15:57Let's go bacon.

15:59Let's see what it tastes like.

16:05It's so dry.
16:07Tastes good.
16:08Like, the flavor's good,
16:09because I mostly taste bacon.
16:11So the Cheesy Toasted Burritos
16:13don't have potato in all of them.
16:15There is a potato option that does have potatoes in it,
16:19but all of them do not contain potatoes,
16:21whereas the Grande Toasted Breakfast Burritos
16:24all have potatoes in them.
16:25Moving on to the quesadillas,
16:27we have a sausage, bacon, and a steak option.
16:31I want to try the sausage.
16:33They're a little cold,
16:34so they're not very melty anymore,
16:36but here's what this looks like.
16:39They do come pre-cut sometimes.
16:41Cheese pull.
16:43Well, nope.
16:46It's not happening.
16:48Okay, let's try the sausage quesadilla.
16:51I don't mind that.
16:53I don't know if it's something in their cheese
16:55or just what is going on today.
16:57It tastes like a little bit off.
16:59I can't put my finger on it.
17:01And I like Taco Bell tacos.
17:03I've had their cheese before.
17:04I know what it tastes like.
17:06We also have three options for breakfast Crunchwraps.
17:09There is the California, the bacon, and the sausage.
17:13In all of the breakfast Crunchwraps,
17:15you'll find egg, cheese,
17:16and a full hash brown in the center.
17:19This is the California Crunchwrap.
17:23So the California Crunchwrap has guacamole in it,
17:26which makes it California-themed.
17:29It tastes really good.
17:31Whatever they did to it tastes really yummy.
17:33There's little bits of chopped up bacon in here.
17:35I didn't really get any,
17:36so I don't think it's just evenly dispersed,
17:39but this is a really good flavor.
17:40I actually would order this.
17:42I'm also gonna try the bacon one
17:44because there's jalapeno sauce in the bacon
17:46and the sausage, I believe.
17:48Yeah.
17:52That jalapeno sauce does not taste good to me.
17:55It's like a shot of cumin into the mouth.
17:57It's insane.
17:58This would be so good if it didn't have that sauce.
18:01We also have a very, very greasy little hash brown.
18:07This is soaked.
18:08It's soaked through the paper.
18:11So here's what half of a hash brown looks like at Taco Bell.
18:15Oh, this is so greasy.
18:17I'm gonna be sick.
18:22Tastes like a pre-made hash brown.
18:23Not bad, not great.
18:28The Australian Crunchwrap Supreme Combo
18:31comes in at $14.95,
18:33so that's around $9.80 US dollars.
18:36In this, you'll get a Crunchwrap,
18:38regular fries, and a regular drink.
18:41A Crunchwrap Supreme Combo comes out to $8.29
18:45or $12.87 Australian.
18:48For that, you get a Crunchwrap,
18:49a Crunch taco, and a large drink.
18:52That's a 32% decrease in price in the US.
18:55The biggest single menu item on Australian Taco Bell menu
18:58is the Boss Burrito Box.
19:01For $23.95 or $15.70 USD,
19:07you get a Boss Burrito, a Crunchy taco,
19:10regular chips, churros, and a regular drink.
19:14We also have box options.
19:16Our biggest is currently
19:18the Deluxe Build Your Own Craving Box,
19:20where we get a choice of a specialty item
19:21like a Cheesy Gordita Crunch
19:23or a Grilled Steak Cheese Burrito,
19:25two classic items, a side, and a drink.
19:28All of that comes out to $9.49 or $14.73 Australian.
19:33If you were to get a similar order in Australia,
19:36it would come out to $24.80 or $15.78 US dollars.
19:41I do find that the prices are more expensive in Australia.
19:45I would say that Taco Bell is definitely
19:47on the cheaper end of the spectrum
19:48when it comes to fast food in the US.
19:51I feel like the prices haven't changed astronomically
19:54from when I was younger,
19:56whereas other fast food places here,
19:58the prices have jumped a lot.
20:00So thanks, Taco Bell, for staying relatively cheap.
20:06I have never eaten at Taco Bell before.
20:10I know, shock, horror.
20:13But Taco Bell isn't as popular in Australia
20:16as I know it to be over in the States.
20:18There's not many Taco Bells around.
20:20Taco Bell, I think, is starting
20:23to build some more franchises here,
20:26but it's not that popular.
20:28We have some really great Mexican food in Australia,
20:31like Mexican fast food chains here already.
20:33In 2018, Taco Bell shared an explosive growth plan
20:37to open several franchises in Australia.
20:40They failed to capture the Australian market in 1980
20:42and again in 2005.
20:44This expansion plan was for 50 stores,
20:47but to date, they've only opened 40.
20:48I don't think Taco Bell is a true representation
20:50of the Mexican cuisine.
20:52I think it is a Western interpretation
20:56of maybe their palate and what they would like.
20:59Taco Bell's not authentic Mexican food.
21:02I don't feel like I have to say that.
21:03They've kind of created this brand image
21:07that feels a little stereotypical.
21:09Do you guys remember those Chihuahua Taco Bell commercials?
21:13Like, yeah, that little dog was cute, but come on.
21:15The commercials are really, they're cringe.
21:18I don't know how else to say it.
21:20They're kind of embarrassing now.
21:22I think in the U.S., Taco Bell
21:24has a really strong cult following.
21:27The people who love Taco Bell love Taco Bell.
21:31They have their go-to order.
21:32They definitely get Baja Blast.
21:34So as much as I don't think
21:37it's everyone's favorite fast food here,
21:39it definitely has a decent amount of people
21:42who absolutely love it.
21:43For me, it's one of those things
21:45that I only get after drinking.
21:47I'm never in the mood for it is the thing.
21:50It kind of just happens.
21:51Taco Bills is a fast food Mexican restaurant in Australia
21:55that sued Taco Bell, claiming the brand was too similar
21:59and wanted to block it from operating in Victoria.
22:01I have never heard of Taco Bills in my life.
22:04I didn't even know that was a thing.
22:07I feel like that would be the wish version of Taco Bell.
22:12I've never heard of it.
22:13Maybe it only operates in Victoria.
22:15If anyone's watching this and has eaten at Taco Bills,
22:18is it any good?
22:19Taco Bell might be late to the party in Australia,
22:23which has several established Mexican restaurant chains
22:25to compete with.
22:26The most popular chain is Zambrero with 229 locations.
22:31Other chains like Guzman and Gomez and Mad Mex
22:33are also well-established.
22:35Also, I have to add in Guzman and Gomez
22:38is really, really good.
22:41That would be, in my opinion,
22:43one of the best fast food Mexican restaurants
22:45that we have here.
22:46But also, what is Zambrero?
22:48I know that it's apparently meant to be the most popular,
22:50but I don't even know what a Zambrero is.
22:55Unfortunately, because Taco Bell is pretty new in Australia,
22:59they say that they haven't gathered enough information
23:02to accurately represent the nutritional info of their food.
23:06In the U.S., a Taco Bell Crunchy Taco has 170 calories.
23:10A Crunchwrap Supreme contains 540 calories.
23:14Currently, there is no publicly available
23:16ingredient information for Taco Bell in Australia.
23:19All we have is an allergens list.
23:21Australia, if you thought that was gonna spare you
23:23from getting roasted, think again.
23:25The Australia allergens list refers to shredded cheese
23:28as cheese angel hair.
23:31What's up with that?
23:33Why are you calling it that?
23:34Also, according to our allergens list,
23:36several items, including our seasoned ground beef,
23:39our nacho cheese sauce, our zesty,
23:42our nacho cheese sauce, our zesty ranch sauce,
23:45and many more may contain shellfish.
23:47The website says that this is because they aren't
23:50manufactured or produced in the vicinity of this allergen.
23:54But we still found the idea of fishy beef funny.
23:57So is there anything that you should be on the lookout for
24:00with Taco Bell's ingredients in the U.S.?
24:02One thing to note from the Taco Bell menu
24:04is the use of yellow-fibe food coloring
24:06in the Doritos Locos Taco shell
24:08and also in the Mountain Dew Baja Blast.
24:10It's not gonna stop me from ordering either of those
24:12if I'm being so honest.
24:14Lucky for us, neither the Dorito Taco Locos
24:16nor the Baja Blast are available at our restaurants.
