00:00Alright, with Gator out, Kang. Well, Kang usually answers the questions anyway.
00:05But with Gator out, you're gonna receive no matter what. That's what happens.
00:09That is correct. I'll take the ball. Alright, here we go. Alright, kickoff. Here we go
00:13with the new kickoff rule. This will land in the landing zone, Doug. Number one,
00:17Russell Wilson has been named a starter for week one for the Pittsburgh
00:21Steelers, but the question I'm asking you, Doug, is who's gonna be the Steelers
00:24starting quarterback week 18? It's Justin Fields. Look, I mean, I get the sense that
00:29Russ is fading, and this year, in a very competent organization, we'll get a sense
00:33for how much he is fading. I thought Justin Fields continued to think he's
00:37extremely talented, and I bet he's looking at what the Bears have done to
00:40help Caleb Williams along with their offensive roster and must be thinking,
00:43where the hell was that when I was there? But, and maybe it's a little bit of
00:46wishful thinking because I want the Bears to, you know, have screwed up their
00:50quarterback situation, but I still really like Justin Fields' skill set. And, you
00:57know, it's hang another year, hang another start, hang another month on an
01:00aging quarterback, and I think eventually youth wins out here, and I
01:04think it'll be this year. Yeah, I don't know. I actually still believe in Justin
01:08Fields, too, as far as he can be a lot better than what he's shown, and he
01:11hasn't hit his potential yet, and we'll never know if he will, but he's got room
01:15to grow. The Russ Wilson, he's going in the opposite direction, unfortunately. He
01:19did win the starting job, but I think he barely won it. It's not like it was
01:23clear as day they would have named this earlier. I think the Pittsburgh Steelers,
01:28this is a different, you know, question I'm gonna answer, but I don't think
01:31they're gonna make the playoffs. So, I think in the end, they're gonna have to
01:34play the young guy, see what they have in Justin Fields, and he'll be starting
01:37maybe the last month or so of games for the Steelers. I'm gonna stick with the
01:42Steelers real quick here. Head coach Mike Tomlin told Rich Eisen this week,
01:47quote, my friend Raheem Morris better be ready for a Justin Fields package. I
01:52don't want to disclose any strategic approaches, but there's just too much
01:55talent for him to sit around and watch. Was this a smart idea to give his friend
01:59a heads-up, Doug? I don't believe him. I think he's completely full of poi. I
02:05think if they had a Justin Fields package of plays, they wouldn't be
02:09talking about a Justin Fields package of plays before their first game. So, I think
02:15this is, this is gamesmanship with gamesmanship. Like, I think he's gone next
02:22level gamesmanship. Like, I'm gonna pretend like I'm gonna tell him what we're gonna do.
02:26And now I think Raheem Morris is probably confused. Like, wait a
02:32sec. What are we doing here? Crazy like a fox. Yeah, right? No, I don't believe him.
02:41I was gonna ask you, is this some gamesmanship here? But, why tell him
02:46you have a package, if you have a package, unless you don't have a package?
02:51What? Okay, because, all said and done though, if I'm a Steelers fan, I guess I
02:57don't like it. Because, if you break out a Justin Fields package and they
03:00necessarily weren't prepared for it, you caught them off guard. But, now if you
03:04break it out, they probably practice something now, knowing like, alright,
03:07Justin Fields might come on the field any moment. He might line up in the wild
03:10cat. He might line up a receiver. Be ready for it. Maybe they were gonna be ready
03:14for it anyways. But, I feel like, let them find out on their own. You don't have to
03:18tell them. You know what, you're right. Can you imagine if they put Justin Fields
03:22on there and he carries it three times and loses 20 yards? What that, why did we
03:26tell him? Why did the coach tell him what we were doing? Yeah, so in the end, I guess
03:30I don't like it. Alright, Red Zone host Scott Hanson said this week, the lowest
03:38number of games we'll have in the late afternoon window is three. Usually there's
03:41two, Doug, in that afternoon window. But, he said the lowest number is three this
03:45year. And, there's gonna be many weeks, according to him, they're gonna have four
03:48or five games in that late window. So, not all the games are front-loaded in the
03:52one o'clock kickoff. Is this a good idea or a bad idea to spread out these games?
03:56Well, I'm gonna start by deferring to you because you are Red Zone guy and I am
04:00not. And, I've got an answer. But, I'm gonna let you, I want you to go first on
04:04this one. Whether or not, because you are Red Zone guy. I love Red Zone. This is a
04:09great idea. I mean, those that watch Red Zone on a weekly basis like I do, you
04:14know there are those games, those weeks where it's just two games and you're
04:17just going back and forth between two boring games. Sometimes, they're both in
04:21commercial. So, Hanson's got to fill time because they don't show commercials. But,
04:25now if you have three, four, maybe five games, this is fantastic throughout the
04:30day. Sorry honey, I won't see you on Sunday. This is just, there's just too
04:34much football spread around because before, you could kind of get away with
04:37not seeing maybe the four o'clock games, right? Because, it's just two games. All
04:40right, I got the bulk of the Sundays. In the early kickoff, I'll watch
04:44Sunday night. Leave the middle for the family. Now, there's no room for family,
04:47Doug. I feel like, yeah, single-parent mom there at the Kang's household. I don't
04:53know. To me, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Red Zone's wildly popular. I, in
04:58theory, I think it makes sense. But, I guess, I'm not a Red Zone guy and the
05:02reason I'm not a Red Zone guy is because I just don't get a feel for a game if
05:05I'm not watching it. Like, I'm seeing the highlights, but not knowing what led up
05:09to it, what teams are having success with, what teams are having, you know,
05:11struggling with. So, to me, I just want to watch one game, maybe two at once. But,
05:19but for, you know, Red Zone, it's hard for me to keep track when you're getting
05:22into four and five games. So, I guess my answer to your question here is, I don't
05:27care. All right. What QB this year, Doug, is under the most pressure? All right. So,
05:37I'm trying to think of how professional athletes look at pressure and I think
05:43it's when you're trying to establish yourself as a starter, a full-time
05:47starter, and the team drafts a rookie. Well, it feels like everybody's already
05:50decided they're gonna start the rookie. And so, there's that. You're under
05:56pressure when everybody thinks you have a complete team, but they only question
06:01you. There's that. But I think the real pressure comes from contracts. Guys that
06:07are after contracts. And so, the two names I came down to were Dak Prescott
06:13and Brock Purdy. I think Brock Purdy is under the most pressure in the NFL
06:20because when you're a seventh-round pick, I still think there's always a
06:26scintilla of doubt in the back of people's mind. And so, he's still playing
06:31for that big contract. It looks like San Francisco is war chesting for it, but I
06:36think Brock Purdy has to match what he did last year. And I'm gonna go with
06:39Brock Purdy is under the most pressure. Wow. I'm a little surprised by the answer.
06:43I did not expect Brock Purdy. There are a lot of quarterbacks under pressure
06:46because, I mean, that's the most pressure, you know, field position in the league.
06:50You get paid the most money. You get the most criticism. You get the most praise.
06:53So, there's a lot of pressure. And you're right, Doug. There's many different ways
06:56to, you know, account. Like, what kind of pressure are we talking here? I'm gonna
07:01go with Josh Allen. And here's why. I've been told he's elite. I think he's elite,
07:06but he has not been to a Super Bowl yet. And Joe Burrow has, you know. And I know
07:11there's other young quarterbacks that haven't as well, but Josh Allen was just
07:14voted in a player's poll the most overrated quarterback in the league. And
07:19I wonder, okay, how does he shake that? How does he get that monkey off his back?
07:22He's got to get to a Super Bowl. And I know he lost Stephon Diggs, but it
07:26doesn't matter this anymore in this league. You get paid that amount of money
07:28and he's gonna get another huge contract as well. You need to step up. He hasn't
07:33won an MVP. He hasn't won. He hasn't gotten to the Super Bowl like I said. I
07:36think it's a big year for Josh Allen. He led the league in turnovers last year as
07:40a quarterback. He's got to limit those turnovers and get his team to the next
07:43step. Unfortunately for him, the AFC is a bloodbath, but he's got to find a way
07:46through it.
07:50All right. Bill Belichick is gonna be very visible. Visible? Visible, sorry.
07:55This NFL offseason or this NFL season. It's an offseason for him because he's
07:59not coaching, so it's a little different. He's gonna be on 11 shows with Peyton
08:03Manning this year called The Breakdown. He's got 11 appearances on the Manning
08:06cast. He's gonna be on McAfee every Monday. He's gonna be co-hosting a show
08:10The Underdog Fantasy and he's gonna co-host another show called Let's Go
08:14Podcasts, which Tom Brady used to do. Is Bill Belichick ever gonna go back to
08:17coaching? I doubt it. I think what I have talked to former coaches when they get
08:22into broadcasting and they can't believe how easy the broadcasting jobs are
08:26compared to coaching and they like getting things like sleep and I also
08:31think it gives him time to hang out with his 24 year old girlfriend. He's done.
08:34He's done coaching. I wouldn't be surprised if the biggest factor might
08:40not be the last factor, the young girlfriend. Well, he is older. Don't tell
08:44his girlfriend that because she's a lot younger, but it's been in his blood and
08:48his DNA so long that I think he gives it one last shot next year and it's because
08:53the opportunity will present itself with the Dallas Cowboys. He is going to kick
08:58the can one more time and try to get the Cowboys the Super Bowl ring that Jerry
09:01Jones desperately wants. You know, it's been so long for America's team,
09:06right? But I think that opportunity opens up. It's set to build Belichick up for
09:10one more time. The fact that he's gonna be so visible, by the way, I think it's
09:13gonna help him because the fans are gonna see that, hey, we've got a
09:16potential Super Bowl coach right there. Go get him. If your team isn't, you know,
09:20getting over that hump.
09:26All right, 11 to 12 Los Angeles Chargers were stuck in a hotel elevator in
09:32Dallas the night before their game last week, Doug. Two hours later, the Dallas
09:37Fire and Rescue assisted those that were stuck in the elevator by lifting them
09:41through ceiling panels in an adjacent elevator. Doug, is this something you
09:46think about every time you step into an elevator and where
09:49does this rank amongst your fears? I think about it 100% of the time and it
09:54ranks number one. Wow. I have two recurring nightmares. One I haven't had in
10:00a long time. I used to have it when I was a kid and that was I was being chased
10:03around my neighborhood by a bad guy driving a street sweeper. Yeah, a street
10:08sweeper. So that was one recurring nightmare I had all the time. And the
10:12other is I'm in a falling elevator. Getting stuck in an elevator, well, would
10:16make me uncomfortable. The falling elevator one where every time I have it
10:21now, I'm like, this is the dream. Wake up. Like, I have it so much. I don't know what
10:26it is. I don't know why I have that. I can't believe you asked this question. I
10:30thank less of you for doing it. I'm mad at you for asking this question because
10:35this, this is like my number one fear is being in a falling elevator. My son just
10:42got a job in his apartments on the 17th floor. And I'm like, I gotta take the
10:45stairs. No, you're not taking the stairs. That's probably not. I asked him, I asked
10:51him, is there a chance to get a lower floor? He's like, no, this is what was
10:55available. So wait, he's gonna be taking the elevator every day then. Because the
10:59reason this is a realistic fear, risky behavior is because it is something that
11:05everyday Joes do every day. It's so there's a possibility of this, even if
11:09it's slim of happening. Yes, this I think about this every time I step on into an
11:14elevator. I think about who's in there with me. How long can I stay in there
11:17with them? How long are they going to before they annoy me? I think of all the
11:20stuff within what 10 seconds of being in an elevator. All that stuff runs through
11:24my mind. Because it is a possibility because we actually go into elevators
11:29more than we see street sweepers, Doug.
11:32That is true. That is true. And that concludes the Y nine Omaha four down
11:37around the league blitz thingy.
