Wing Stop has opened it's latest branch in Crawley. Mark Dunford and son Noah try it out. They also catch up with store manager Rex

00:00Hi, I'm Mark Dunford, I'm here from Sussex World and I'm at Wingstop, the newest restaurant
00:14in Crawley. So Wingstop's got branches all across the country and we are here in the
00:20first one in Crawley which is faced at the retail part, next to where Harvester was,
00:25and they're in the same building as Five Guys and Caddy's. So trying out their menu
00:30today. We are having 12 pieces, 12 wing pieces, with a Louisiana rub and a spicy Korean sauce.
00:40The boneless, we're having 12 pieces of boneless chicken, with a hickory smoked barbecue and
00:45a Hawaiian. We've got a ranch dip and honey mustard dips coming with those. And with the
00:49tenders, we've got Brazilian citrus pepper flavouring. So I'm really intrigued by the
00:54flavours. They've got a really good menu, showing you how hot each one are. So it's
01:01really good to see. I'm not great with a lot of heat, so we've gone for a few medium heat
01:06ones there and a couple of non-meat, non-hot ones as it were. We've gone for some new Buffalo
01:12ranch fries and also some normal fries in the Wingstop style, so we'll let you know
01:18what those are like. And I'm having a salted caramel milkshake as well. Also we're having
01:23some churros for pudding, with caramel dip and lotus biscoff flavouring. So lots to look
01:31forward to. We'll let you know what it's like. So the food has arrived and it looks amazing.
01:37Now you're just about to try the chicken tender. What flavour did we get in the chicken tender?
01:42It was the Brazilian citrus pepper. Brazilian citrus pepper. So let us know what you think.

01:57The flavours are really nice.
02:01It's a slower burning as well.
02:11So I've got the Louisiana rub flavouring chicken wing here.
02:17It's really nice. The flavouring, you can see the rub on it. It's spicy but not really.
02:31It's a bit of a slow burn in the mouth. But the chicken is so tender and comes off the bone easily.
02:37Yeah, it's hard to describe what flavouring the Louisiana rub is, but it does give you that sort of sense of being in America around a barbecue and that.
02:53Really, really nice.
02:57So I'm on to the boneless chicken now and this is the Hawaiian flavoured one. Let's give it a go.
03:07Really nice citrusy flavours and the chicken is again really tender, really lovely.
03:19You can see my hands are covered already.
03:27Really, really good.
03:31So now you've got the Hickory smoked barbecue boneless chicken there. What do you think?
03:35I think it's very nice. It's not a simple flavour. It's nice, it's spicy. It's definitely a lovely barbecue flavour there.
03:45Really nice solid piece.
03:49So I think this is my favourite chicken wing flavouring. It's the spicy Korean Q. And again, it's not too hot. Just a real slow burn.
03:57I really like the Louisiana rub, but I think this one just edges it to flavour. But otherwise, the food has been magnificent.
04:05We've had the fries. I don't know if you want to pan down to the fries. That's the ranch fries. Buffalo ranch fries. And it's got the rub on it and the ranch dressing.
04:19Really nice. Really flavoursome. And there's a lot going on with those fries. But then we've got the normal fries as well.
04:25They're the normal Wingstop style and that's what you get and any other sort of establishment of this nature.
04:32But generally, it's been a really, really good meal. And I think Noah's favourite has been the Hickory smoked barbecue boneless chicken.
04:41The Brazilian citrus pepper tender was superb. That was really nice as well. But you can have that as a meal on their own. Absolutely brilliant.
04:51And now we're just about to try the churros.
04:57So this is the bit Noah's looking forward to most, I think. The churros. We've gone for the Biscoff and caramel dressing.
05:05So Noah, eat away.
05:11I think his face just said it all then. Really nice yeah?
05:16I think these are the best churros I've ever had.
05:18The best churros you've ever had? Wow, that's big talk.
05:22They're crispy, packed full of flavour. You know, there's still a bit of cinnamon going on there.
05:36So Noah, we've eaten our meal at Wingstop. Overall thoughts?
05:41Overall thoughts, very, very nice. The experience is very nice here. The staff are very attentive. The food is lovely, packed full of flavour.
05:52What was your favourite part of the meal? Do I even have to ask?
05:56I mean the favourite part is probably the churros, but then I have to say the BBQ boneless chicken was pretty nice as well.
06:06Overall, everything was quite nice. There's no real weakling in that.
06:11So I'm Rex. I'm the support GM here. I'm here to support Nico. He's the GM that's going to be running the store and looking over day-to-day operations.
06:23I've come here to support him while we wait for another Wingstop branch to open.

06:32And how's it going since then?
06:33It's been amazing. I'm not too familiar with the area, so when I came down here I had a little walk around and got to see all the local stores.
06:41Even the new crew that I saw from around here, we spoke to them and got to know everyone. It's been a wonderful experience.
06:48Wingstop is amazing. We serve the world flavour. We're here to introduce all the wonderful flavours that you got to experience today.
06:56I know you tried the Hawaiian.
06:58Yeah, lovely.
06:59Yeah, my favourite. So it's all about flavour. We're about fun, authenticity, entrepreneurship, and we try to be service-minded.
07:13We're a very fun company. We're quite new, but we're growing the trajectory and the new stores that we've got going on.
07:21It's amazing and we're just here to make sure everyone experiences great food, great flavour.
07:26So I've eaten my meal at Wingstop here in Crawley, the newest restaurant in Crawley, and it's been pretty impressive.
07:33The food has been superb. The service is incredible.
07:36Everyone was so attentive, always checking up on us, seeing if we needed anything else.
07:41So it was really good. Rex, the manager, obviously you've just seen, he said how busy it's been and how good it's been here.
