00:03 and today we're going to be trying the new items that have released at McDonald's.
00:08 So we've got the McKrispy Deluxe, we've got the Double Cork Pounder BBQ Sauce and we've
00:13 got the Garlic and Cheese Bites.
00:15 But we're going to start before they melt with the new ice creams.
00:18 So you've got the Galaxy Salted Caramel McFlurry and the Chocolate McFlurry.
00:23 You can't tell which one's which from the top so I guess we'll just have to dig in and
00:26 see.
00:27 So I had the salted caramel one and it's really nice, although they seem to have put all the
00:31 sauce on the base which doesn't make much sense because you've got to really stir it
00:34 and I stirred it and I spilled it all over myself.
00:37 So it's not ideal really, they could have maybe done with putting some sauce on top
00:40 or putting it all the way through, I don't know.
00:42 But I mean it's quite nice, once I had the sauce and I had the McFlurry and the chocolate
00:45 it was really nice but obviously you know, it's a combination of ice cream and chocolate.
00:48 Salted caramel is one we've seen before and it's really good.
00:52 Break of it is 7, it's nothing amazing but it's still quite tasty but yeah the sauce
00:55 at the bottom is just a ridiculous idea.
00:57 What about you, what did you think?
00:58 Yeah so I had the chocolate one, I wouldn't say it's, like you said before, it's not necessarily
01:02 groundbreaking, it just tastes like ice cream and chocolate at the end of the day.
01:06 It's probably, it's not as innovative or different as the salted caramel one, it's just ice cream
01:12 and chocolate.
01:13 Not to say it's not nice but again it's something that we've seen before.
01:18 It's very tasty, I'd probably give it a 6.
01:20 I mean you can't go wrong with a McFlurry but it's nothing particularly too special
01:23 to be honest.
01:24 Yeah I agree with you there.
01:26 Now we've got the cheese and garlic bites and it comes with the tangy rich tomato dip
01:31 and this actually changed last time I think, it tasted a lot different than before so we'll
01:35 get involved, feel free to grab a bowl.
01:38 Yeah that was really tasty, had it with the tomato sauce, had it without the tomato sauce
01:42 and both times really really good.
01:44 Obviously when you get deep fried cheese you can't really go wrong but these are really
01:47 good.
01:48 I remember last time they brought them around they were almost too garlicky, I know that
01:50 sounds ridiculous because they're garlic cheesy bites but the garlic was a little bit too
01:54 overpowering but this time around I think they got the balance just about right.
01:57 I mean yeah, what do you think Sam?
01:59 Yeah you can definitely get the flavour of the, like I said the garlic wasn't too overpowering
02:04 but you still get that hint of the garlic in it.
02:07 I would say the sauce is a bit more tomatoey than I remember it being.
02:11 Still very nice but sometimes I think it kind of overpowers the flavour almost, obviously
02:16 depending on how much sauce you put on it.
02:19 But yeah really tasty and it does go well together.
02:22 Yeah I agree with you there, I think the sauce last time I had it was a little bit more herby
02:25 and I think they've gone back to making it more tomato saucy rather than, yeah I mean
02:30 I think it's better than regular ketchup but yeah it is quite overpowering.
02:32 And what would you give that out of 10?
02:34 I would give that an 8.
02:36 Yeah I think I agree, I think I would probably give it a 9.
02:39 I think you know it's not perfect but I think it's pretty good, it's a lot better than it
02:42 was last time around.
02:43 So and now we've got the two burgers so we will start on the less extravagant one.
02:49 So it's the Quarter Pounder with BBQ sauce, so they've got this with one patty and two
02:53 patties as well.
02:54 Obviously I'm not expecting anything too amazing, it's literally a Quarter Pounder with BBQ
02:58 sauce but let's give it a go and see what we think.
03:02 That was quite nice, I mean a burger with BBQ sauce is nothing amazing, well it is good
03:07 but it's nothing extraordinary, it's nothing we haven't seen before and when I saw this
03:11 was coming out I kind of thought, I mean anyone can get a pot BBQ sauce and just do it themselves
03:15 so I mean it's quite interesting without the mustard and the ketchup like they usually
03:20 do and if this was around all the time maybe I'd get it instead but I mean it's nothing
03:24 extraordinary.
03:25 What about you?
03:26 Yeah I think you might have hit the nail on the head, it just kind of feels like someone's
03:29 got a jar of the BBQ, just slathered it on a normal Quarter Pounder.
03:33 Again it's not something too revolutionary but you just put two nice things together
03:37 and it's gonna be, it's gonna be nice.
03:40 I mean I'd probably give that like a 7 I'd say, again it's nice but not too, it doesn't
03:46 push the bite out of that part in my opinion.
03:48 Yeah I completely agree, I think that has to be a 7 yeah.
03:51 It's nice, I mean any burger with BBQ sauce and cheese and beef is gonna be really good
03:55 but yeah it's really nothing extraordinary.
03:58 So now this is the burger that they're really pushing, it's the McCrispy Supreme, McCrispy
04:04 Deluxe, let me have a look, it's the McCrispy Deluxe.
04:06 So it is a McCrispy fillet, cheese, bacon, lettuce and it's also got a hot and spicy
04:13 mayo in there as well.
04:14 As you can see the bun's quite unique as well, it's almost, it looks a bit pretzel-y almost.
04:18 Yeah I'd say so.
04:19 Yeah so yeah let's see what we think.
04:23 I wasn't expecting to like that too much, I'm not a huge fan of mayo but they've done
04:28 it quite well I think, the sauce and you can kind of see as well on the outside, you can
04:31 sort of see the traditional spicy mayo but it looks like they put another spicy sauce
04:34 in there as well and the spice is really added and I mean I hate mayonnaise but I might even
04:39 get that again in the future, what do you think?
04:41 Yeah 100% I think the sauce definitely makes that burger, the chicken's nice and crispy
04:46 but the sauce and the bun as well I think it doesn't, the sauce sometimes you get it
04:51 so it like soaks up and it gets like soggy but with that different bun it kind of like
04:56 holds its shape and like firmness and really lets the sauce and the meat be like the star
05:01 you know what I mean.
05:02 Yeah 100% I'd really really like that, I'd give that a 9, it's really tasty.
05:06 Yeah I think I'd have to probably give it the same, I mean it's not perfect but yeah
05:09 I'll just give it a 9, 9.5.
05:10 I think it's right up there considering I really wasn't expecting to like it and I swear
05:14 every time McDonald's releases a menu there's always a burger in there and it's got the
05:18 same bacon, it's got the same cheese, it's got a fancy bun and it's just really lacklustre
05:22 but this has actually really really impressed me and I like the McCrispy but it always felt
05:26 like it could be elevated and I genuinely think this elevates it and yeah I think they
05:29 should consider keeping this around because they would sell more McCrispys if they were
05:32 selling this instead of the original but yeah so yeah there you have it so that's what we
05:37 think about the new McDonald's items, make sure you go and check them out and let us
