00:00It's going to be a big one in Bajan Rouge as LSU won its SEC opener last week against
00:09South Carolina.
00:10But was not easy, Leezy guys, six and a half, seven point favorite on the road in Columbia.
00:16They do not cover.
00:17LSU this year, 0-3 against the spread, UCLA 0-2 against the number.
00:23These are two of 23 FBS programs that enter week number four, failing to cover a number
00:28so far this year.
00:30And this one is a large number, 21 and a half points in favor of the Bayou Bengals.
00:34How do you break down the showdown in death?
00:36Well, it's not a seven o'clock kick.
00:37It's 330.
00:38That factors in the Tigers are dominant at night.
00:41And again, this line is down from 24 and a half.
00:44I blinked and they were down 17, nothing on the road.
00:46They were on life support.
00:48That defense still is not good.
00:49They adjusted.
00:50Now I will say that front seven is getting after the quarterback, 12 sacks, Perkins is
00:55getting there.
00:56Greg Penn and those linebackers are getting there.
00:59When they do it in this matchup, they're going to need to run the football.
01:01A bright spot was Caden Durham in terms of that matchup.
01:04Offensive line showing a little bit more continuity.
01:07If I had to bet this game, I might take the 21 and a half because it's three touchdowns.
01:12I think there's no doubt LSU wins.
01:14My best bet here, I think we blow through the total.
01:17I really do.
01:18I think LSU forces tempo, way too many wide receivers, Kev.
01:23Give me the points in terms of the over.
01:25For me, I look at this spot here, man, and I look at LSU overall.
01:29This is a team, again, I mentioned it, coming into this week, top 25 teams that have played
01:34multiple power opponents.
01:36You could easily argue that they've had the two most difficult spots playing a really
01:40good USC team in Vegas and going on the road in conference touchdown line.
01:45I know that some penalties broke their way.
01:47That's undeniable.
01:4817, nothing, and you come back and win that game.
01:52That end result ends up being great for LSU here.
01:56They're a 21-point favorite, and maybe I'm a little caught up in the big picture more
02:00than the game-to-game of it all due to some LSU investments that I have.
02:05I think people have sold this team a little bit quick.
02:07I thought you were very kind to them, honestly, by having them in the wait list, which even
02:10was a little bit surprising.
02:11Betting-wise, really interested in this backfield for LSU.
02:16We know Durham broke out last week, but it's not like he blasted through and also became
02:20the bell cow.
02:21That last drive, there were as many carries for Durham as there were for Josh Williams.
02:25He had an 18-yard gap between the two on their rushing totals today.
02:29UCLA's only played two games.
02:31They've been worse through the air than the ground, so I don't know if LSU will establish
02:35their rushing attack here, but still, Josh Williams' props look very, very light and
02:39manageable.
02:40Yeah, two main questions for me about this LSU team entering last week against the Gamecocks.
02:45One was answered, kind of.
02:47One still has not been.
02:49The question for the Bayou Bengals is on the defensive side of the football.
02:53Last year, the second-worst total defense in the SEC, allowing 416 yards per game.
02:58Only Vanderbilt had a worst defensive output.
03:00This year, Lacey Guy, third-worst total defense to start, 380 yards allowed and 243 given
03:07up on the ground last week against South Carolina.
03:12The question that was slightly answered, if it is Caden Durham, the freshman from Oklahoma
03:16City, taking the reins of that backfield, is a better ground attack to kind of complement
03:22everything that Garrett Nussmeier wants to do.
03:2411 carries, 98 yards and two tuds for the true freshman last week against South Carolina.
03:28All different backs.
03:29He's more of a back that can catch the edge, has great vision.
03:33Josh Williams is the guy that gets the tough yards between the tackles, and Caleb Jackson
03:38is a combination of the both.
03:40I think it's a great recipe, to Kevin's point, big picture for this team, potentially to
03:44challenge from an SEC championship perspective.
03:47We know they have the passing attack, right?
03:50But this front seven cannot fall behind.
03:53You cannot go on the road and fall behind 17-0 and live dangerously week to week in
03:59the SEC.
04:00You're going to get clipped by the better teams like Ole Miss and some of the others
04:03that you're going to have to face should you make it there.
