00:00The sun shines down on this knock hill circuit, round 4 of 2024 is underway!
00:14Shooting through comes Tommy Bridewell.
00:17Glenn Irwin there trying to challenge his brother Randy, and he's got up on the inside line there.
00:22Tommy Bridewell is absolutely out of here.
00:26Oh, Hickman's Hickman.
00:28And the marshal's taking a tumble as well.
00:30Oh, they're side by side, the two brothers there!
00:32Look at that, and Rory comes through and Glenn's having none of it!
00:37Oh, that's two of them off, that's Christian, he didn't have nothing round Vic,
00:40there's an almost happen between them.
00:42Is that smoke coming out of the back of Irwin's bike, or is that just...
00:44Yes it is.
00:45The black and orange flag is already being shown to number two.
00:49Tommy Bridewell, the reigning champion, creams the field here at Knock Hill.
00:54It's wet, wet, wet here in Scotland, and it's lights out!
00:58And away we go for the second race, immediately everyone bolting over to the right-hand side,
01:02trying to get the whole shot down into turn one, another good start from Andy Irwin.
01:05Oh, and Andy Irwin is down!
01:08This will get the crowd going, Rory's going to lead into the hairpin.
01:13Oh, Max Cook out of the seat!
01:16He's going to be on the kerb...
01:19And that looks like Danny Kenseth as well, he's down!
01:22He's furious with himself.
01:24Rory Skinner, he's going for it, and he zips up Louis, hello Louis!
01:27Oh, he's pushed back into the gravel!
01:30Here on home turf, Rory Skinner then climbs up the hill,
01:34and he's finally a PSP race winner!
01:37What's in store for race three?
01:41And a rocket start for Rory Skinner, number 11 on the BMW,
01:44or is it? Because through comes Danny Kent to lead on the McCam's Yamaha.
01:48Tight there, through turn three, and it's going to be technically.
01:51Bit of a moment there for Skinner, that might be the door for Christian Iden to have a look.
01:54Good move, Christian Iden then it is that lead.
01:57Oh, that's a hard one.
01:59That just caps off for what has been a disastrous weekend.
02:04Oh, come on Louis!
02:06A bit out of shape, that's Andy Irwin, that's enough.
02:10Oh, hasn't gone down!
02:12Got a red flag, and that is going to be declared a result.
02:15Again, it's a win then for Christian Iden.
02:17Seven different race winners in 11 races!
02:21Three different winners at Knock Hill in round four.
02:24Welcome to Snetterton for round five of the Bennett's British Superbike Championship,
02:29where Tommy Bridal arrived as the series leader for the first time in 2024.
02:34But it was the home hero, Ryan Vickers, who stuck his Yamaha on pole position for race one.
02:39Here's what happened with Steve Day.
02:41We are good to go racing here at Snetterton in Norfolk.
02:44It's round five, the Bennett's B&B, and we are underway.
02:48Storm Stacey storms to the front into turn two.
02:51We go for the first time and Vickers now takes the lead.
02:53Oh, Lee Jackson's got a problem!
02:55Oh, what a shame for Leaves on Cosmo.
02:57He's got to have a result, he's gutted in the background.
03:00Ryan Vickers trying to find a puddle or two, and Storm Stacey leads!
03:03Oh, there's a crash for Rory Skinner.
03:05Oh, it's a high side at Corham, there's a red flag.
03:08Can that be declared?
03:10Storm is definitely celebrating as it beat one.
03:13There you can see Rory Skinner going into the back of the ambulance here.
03:15We send our best wishes to him.
03:17And it's just started raining again.
03:19Once the circuit is clearer, it will be a five-lap race.
03:24Eyes on the lights, and we're underway.
03:27A good start there from Danny Kent. Storm Stacey did not get away well at all from pole position.
03:31Danny Kent will lead into turn one.
03:33Look at Lewis Wallow on the puddle.
03:36Oh, we've got a faller. That's Skook.
03:38Yeah, it is.
03:39That's Skook has gone down.
03:40Oh, is that Kent?
03:41That's Danny Kent.
03:42Danny Kent, number 52, from the lead.
03:44And another one's down as well.
03:46That's a Honda.
03:47Oh, that's a Honda. It's Bridewell.
03:48It's Bridewell.
03:49Storm Stacey leads from Lewis Wallow, I think.
03:52And there's another faller in the background.
03:54Hedgerow's gone down.
03:55Yeah, that's called Hedgerow.
03:56Out front then, we've got three riders who have never won a BSB race.
04:00Storm Stacey, Lewis Wallow.
04:02And Nesbit's gone!
04:03Nesbit's gone!
04:04Now here comes Wallow.
04:06There's going to be a maiden victory here for someone, surely.
04:09They're side by side now.
04:10Here they go, on the inside for Storm Stacey.
04:12Lewis Wallow sees him, he has to let him through.
04:14And Storm Stacey is a British Superbike race winner from Lewis Wallow.
04:20And after what happened in the initial start,
04:22that is brilliant to see from Storm Stacey.
04:26So, BSB hit by a storm here at Snetterton.
04:29Stacey on top of the box in Race 1 and on pole position for Race 2.
04:34Steve was joined, as always, by James Whitton.
04:37So, BSB hit by a storm in Race 1,
04:40and Stacey was on pole position for Race 2.
04:43James Whitton was out on the grid for us.
04:46Yeah, yesterday's race, it was a two-part race,
04:48and the second part was horrendous, if you didn't see it.
04:52Right, we're going to go forward.
04:53We have to, two and a half minutes left,
04:54so I need to speak to the two riders in the middle of the front row.
04:58He's, where is...
05:01Oh, I see.
05:02Right, we'll maybe come back to Lewis,
05:05but we need to speak to this fellow.
05:07This is Storm Stacey, right?
05:09You might not see much of this lad,
05:10but you might be seeing more of him in the future.
05:13I've known Storm quite a long time.
05:14I know his team manager really well.
05:16I raced with him, I raced with Brent.
05:18Clash yesterday, mate.
05:19Not only did you make a really inspired tyre choice
05:22with a wet on the front intermediate rear,
05:24that got you the win in the first half,
05:26which counted for not much in the end,
05:28but you had to go and do it all again in the wet,
05:29and I was very impressed.
05:30Yeah, no, technically we won two races yesterday,
05:32and it was pretty impressive to do that,
05:34and I feel it in myself.
05:36To keep level-headed and try and go out and do it again
05:39in the second half was really good.
05:41I'm hoping we get a bit of rain today.
05:42We are struggling in the dry,
05:43so please don't expect anything spectacular,
05:46but we've made some changes,
05:47and hopefully it will be for the positive,
05:49and yeah, you will hopefully see me up the front a bit more.
05:52But if you're going to get a chance in the dry,
05:54it's from Paul where you're going to get it,
05:56because you're going to probably get away with people
05:58that are going to drag you in,
05:59and you're not going to be sat way back looking at them.
06:02Yeah, no, 100%.
06:03I'm with the right people to go fast.
06:04If you want to go fast, you've got to be around fast people,
06:06so yeah, there you are right there, Jamie.
06:09Good luck, Storm.
06:11Yeah, Storm, it's fair to say,
06:13his character got just less than a minute left.
06:15This is Lewis Rollo.
06:16Now, this was an exceptional ride as well.
06:18I didn't really care who won it,
06:20because they were both riding out the skin
06:22in conditions that were catching everybody out.
06:25Great ride yesterday.
06:26We've got half a minute, so make it a quick one.
06:28I know you're pretty concise,
06:29but great ride yesterday, Lewis.
06:31No, thank you.
06:32It was tricky conditions,
06:33starting from the back of the grid.
06:35Unfortunate for Rory halfway through the race
06:38to get a red flag,
06:39so hopefully he's okay and back on the mend.
06:41But we got a good start in the second half,
06:43got to front, led my first ever British Superbike race,
06:46and to put it on the box in our first year,
06:49absolutely amazing.
06:51The team sponsors everybody,
06:53and if you'd told us that at the start of the year,
06:56we would never have thought that.
06:57A bit of a smile under there.
06:58Good luck in this one, lad.
07:00Yeah, really good result from both of those lads.
07:02I think it's going to be a different story now.
07:04Hopefully it stays dry.
07:05Back to you.
07:06So, Storm Stacey, unstoppable here at Snet in the wet.
07:10Could he transfer that form to the dry?
07:12Let's find out.
07:13We've made his way to the commentary box to join Steve.
07:17We're ready to go racing here at Snet
07:19to turn eyes on the lights.
07:21And away we go.
07:22A good start there from Vickers.
07:24And on the second row also for Andy Irwin, it looks like,
07:26as they got away.
07:27Storm Stacey, though,
07:28is he just about going to hold the whole shot?
07:30He does.
07:31Yeah, Storm Stacey followed by Kyle Wright,
07:32followed by Lewis Rollo,
07:33and Lewis Rollo will have a go on this.
07:35He technically shouldn't be able to go as quick
07:38as his grid position would suggest.
07:40Oh, Ryder's diving on the inside.
07:42Nice, nice move that from Kyle Wright
07:44to take the lead down into Turn 2.
07:45Yeah, clean as.
07:46They're all through Turns 1 and 2,
07:48then Kyle Wright, number 77, leads.
07:50Glenn Irwin has gone up into 2nd.
07:52On the Hager PBM Ducati, Stacey then drops to 3rd.
07:55We will keep our eyes on Tommy Bridewell
07:57from 16th on the grid.
07:59Now, 6th row on the grid.
08:01Is that 16th?
08:0216th.
08:0316th, 6th row.
08:04Yeah, that's it.
08:05Oh, he's getting a bit back today.
08:07It is a long way back.
08:08Oh, and there's a few people being sat up there
08:10as they head around the hairpin.
08:12It's Glenn Irwin, though, that now has the lead,
08:14number 2 on the Ducati from Kyle Wright.
08:17He's been victorious since the first race
08:19back at Donington Park for Glenn Irwin.
08:23Number 2, then, it is that leads from Bride.
08:25On the podium yesterday, Storm Stacey-Lewis,
08:27Rollo at 3rd and 4th,
08:28then it's Vickers on home turf.
08:30No Rory Skinner, of course, after that crash yesterday.
08:33Broken Tib and Fibbe, we send our best wishes.
08:36No Billy McConnell on the grid
08:37after he knocked himself about here yesterday as well.
08:40Yeah, a bit of concussion for Billy.
08:43Otherwise, OK.
08:45Glenn Irwin leads,
08:46and this is perfect for Glenn in these conditions.
08:48He's really struggled in the wet,
08:50and when you're leading a championship,
08:52it's a lot more difficult to go out there
08:55and take a risk and ride with a little bit of,
08:58what's the word?
09:00Just abandoned, if you like,
09:03that Lewis Rollo and Storm Stacey could yesterday.
09:05No axe to grind in the championship.
09:08Just they were after a result,
09:10and it's easier for them to take a risk
09:14and not worry about the consequences
09:15than it is for Glenn Irwin or Tommy Bridewell
09:17or a car ride.
09:21At the moment, with the two out front bolting away,
09:23the best that Tommy Bridewell potentially hoped for here is a 3rd.
09:27He's now trying to make a move on his teammate Andy Irwin.
09:29That's clean down into Murrays.
09:30Very clean, yeah.
09:31And this is all right for Tommy.
09:32It was always going to be a damage limitation exercise, this.
09:34As it stands, a 11-point lead,
09:36Glenn would take into the race later on this afternoon,
09:39but this race isn't over yet,
09:40and Bridewell here just picking one or two off.
09:42He's gone through on Irwin,
09:43and now on the approach to Ritchie's corner,
09:45he's through on Stacey.
09:48He's coming around Corham's curve now,
09:50this long right-hander.
09:52Yeah, brilliant.
09:53You know how to ride this place.
09:54Yeah, love this corner.
09:55Yeah, you don't want it to go...
09:57Ooh, Tommy's up the inside of Danny Kent now.
09:59You don't want it to go wrong at Corham's,
10:00but it is a brilliant corner.
10:01Don't want to get it wrong there.
10:03Bridewell then picks up another one.
10:05Tommy Bridewell moves up into 5th place now.
10:08Out front, Irwin and Ryder, 2.8 clear of the pack.
10:11So, even though Vickers has got to the front of that second group,
10:14he's not been able to pull it in.
10:15Making it inroads. Nope.
10:17So, we're on lap 4 of 12.
10:18This is the battle for 3rd.
10:19Again, another one for Tommy Bridewell.
10:22He goes through on Christian Hidden,
10:23and they're all neat, tidy passes.
10:25I was just going to say,
10:26if anything, you can't say about Tommy's,
10:29he makes it in your thoughts.
10:30He doesn't.
10:31He's always clean, safe,
10:32gives your rider a bit of space.
10:34He's good.
10:37You just saw there, Kyle looking up.
10:39And that's what that was about.
10:40Just having a look to see how much rain there is
10:42as Bridewell pounces on Ryan Vickers underneath the bridge
10:45and into Brundle.
10:46Vickers is wide, actually,
10:47and through goes Christian Hidden as well.
10:49Oh, you can just imagine what's going through Tommy Bridewell.
10:52Oh, dear.
10:53We've got a bike on fire.
10:54Louis Vallely's bike has gone down.
10:55He's OK, but the bike is not.
10:57That's turn 1.
10:58That's at Richie's.
10:59Yeah, and that rain probably played its part in that.
11:02They need to get to that with the next English.
11:04We might just see a safety car here.
11:05I think so.
11:06Maybe even a red flag,
11:07because that bike is up.
11:08They're now going to head over with a fire extinguisher
11:10to get that one out.
11:11There's a load of smoke running onto the circuits as well.
11:14Surely we're going to see something here
11:16as they're looking to put it out
11:17before they lift it and move it away.
11:18They've not got long, of course,
11:20because the riders are heading out
11:21in more spots of rain here as well.
11:23Yeah.
11:24On lap 5 of 12.
11:25It's Irwin that leads from Kyle Ride.
11:27Gap back to Bridewell.
11:28He's come through from 16th on the grid.
11:30But decisions to be made here.
11:32And they'll be made very quickly, I would imagine.
11:34And there is a safety car, just as we expected.
11:37Yeah.
11:40A few legs dangling.
11:41Ah, wipers on.
11:43Yeah, wipers on the safety car as well.
11:45That's a bad sign.
11:46There you go.
11:47There you go.
11:48Yeah.
11:49We're only halfway through this one as well.
11:50It's lap 6 of 12.
11:52So we're nowhere near that sort of two-thirds distance.
11:56But we could have a couple of laps under the safety car.
11:58You never know what's going to happen.
11:59Yeah, I've said it before.
12:00Race direction here at BSB
12:01is better than anywhere else in the world.
12:03Correct.
12:04And I would count world championship racing in that as well.
12:06Yeah.
12:07We got a red flag for rain.
12:08Yep.
12:09And this is the thing.
12:10This has been the tale of the weekend.
12:12Absolutely.
12:13Yep.
12:14It has just been fraught with inclement conditions.
12:19If you wanted to, what, muck about with a race weekend,
12:24you couldn't have timed it any better than the race has come.
12:27It's been terrible.
12:28It has been awful.
12:29Red flag removed from the front.
12:31It's eyes on the lights.
12:32Race 2 restart coming up.
12:34Five laps and away we go.
12:36Good stuff.
12:37Ryan Vickers on the second row.
12:38It looked like he didn't got a good one as well.
12:40Tommy Bridewell maybe not so much.
12:42And they're all getting their elbows out into turn 1.
12:45Kyle Ride gets the whole shot.
12:47Yeah, good launch by Kyle Ride.
12:49On the approach now out of Richie's towards Wilson.
12:53Oh, it's busy.
12:54It is busy.
12:55Andy Irwin there is up ahead of Tommy Bridewell.
12:57Bridewell the big loser in the first couple of corners it looks like.
13:00He's dropped back a couple of places.
13:02Yeah, you know, he's never been a really quick starter, hasn't Tommy Bridewell.
13:06But actually, normally he's got a lot of laps to do with the business.
13:10Now he hasn't.
13:11Five laps.
13:12No, it is real gloves off stuff here as Glenn Irwin immediately attacks Kyle Ride.
13:16The door is open and through goes Irwin.
13:19Irwin leads then from right.
13:20It's Idan, Andy Irwin then.
13:22Tommy Bridewell looks like he was side by side with Ryan Vickers.
13:25Out of turn 4, Agostini's.
13:28Let's see how they fare as Irwin then.
13:31On the right-handers.
13:33Now leads onto the back straight.
13:35There's a bit of a side-by-side there.
13:37Irwin looking at his foggies.
13:38And then out onto the back straight.
13:40Really critical part of the track.
13:42It's quite a long back straight.
13:43Even now it used to be a little bit longer than it is.
13:45But still a good launch onto that straight as Ander.
13:50Just into turn 3 now.
13:52Bridewell's under-pushing in.
13:53Lovely move.
13:54Now the place made up.
13:55Yeah.
13:56So he's back up into third.
13:59Now Ander's quick enough so even the guys can't get back under him coming out of the car.
14:04You know, he's...
14:05It's a very sad thing now.
14:06But on.
14:07Tommy Bridewell right there.
14:09Yeah, I was expecting a good first half of the season.
14:15Unfortunately for Leon Haslam, no luck at all.
14:17The end of his race already.
14:19Glen Irwin though, there you can see.
14:20Decent lead for him.
14:21And by far the top of the road as well.
14:23Yeah, I'm saying probably one lap over the start and finish straight.
14:26Oh, this is the new part of the circuit we've been watching.
14:29Now onto the old part.
14:30Obviously it's an old airfield so it's going to be flat.
14:32But that doesn't mean it's not interesting.
14:35It's really an interesting circuit to ride this.
14:37Brakey now under the bridge.
14:39Just in the background there.
14:40Coming under attack from Andy Irwin.
14:43The Yamaha there.
14:45The Macabre Yamaha of Danny Kent is desperately trying to fish his way through.
14:49This has been the tale of Danny's season.
14:51He's found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time.
14:53Yeah.
14:54I just feel Danny's needed better starts.
14:56If he got better starts for most of the races.
14:59Look at Tommy.
15:00He's looking to go around the outside at Corham's.
15:01That should put him in a good position to get up the inside into the chicane.
15:04And it does.
15:05Yeah, through he goes on the cutback.
15:07Kyle will try and get there but it's not going to happen.
15:09Lovely move there from Tommy Bridewell.
15:10He's using his body weight there just to try and make sure that that front wheel stays down.
15:15It is Bridewell up to second.
15:17He's got 1.3 seconds to catch Glen Irwin.
15:19He's the fastest man on circuit.
15:21Yeah, and he's only got two laps to do it.
15:23Well, three.
15:24That's a big gap, isn't it?
15:25Yeah.
15:26And it's the same old story.
15:27It's Glen versus Tommy at the front of a British Superbike race.
15:34This will give you a decent view of the gap.
15:37There's the poppers around there.
15:38Ayrton's still there in third.
15:39And then Kyle Ride, Andy Irwin, Danny Kent.
15:42Ryan Vickers, quite surprised at Vickers.
15:45Yeah, he seemed to have a really good pace in the dry early in the weekend.
15:48Franco Vaughn is at the back of that group as well.
15:50Good ride from him.
15:51He's number 54.
15:52Just behind Nesbitt.
15:57In ninth.
15:59There is O'Halloran.
16:00And there is Charlie Nesbitt.
16:02Yeah.
16:03Speed's down the back straight.
16:05Glen Irwin, 179.4.
16:07To Kyle Ride, 176.6.
16:10The gap out front has increased to 1.9.
16:13And you must feel that Bridewell is going to have to give this one up.
16:16I think so, yeah.
16:17I think that the safest thing when you've got a championship to fight for
16:20is just concede this one.
16:22I've got to say, James,
16:23when you think that this is just a five-lap dash,
16:26Glen Irwin may be winning this one by two seconds.
16:28Hats off.
16:30Yeah.
16:31That's going somewhere.
16:32Yeah, I mean, yeah.
16:33That pace would translate to a sort of six-second win in a longer race.
16:37It's another 48 flat from Glen Irwin.
16:39The battle for third at the moment, it looks like,
16:42between Iddon and Ride.
16:45Will be Irwin on pole for the third race later as it stands,
16:49unless another fast lap comes in here on the last lap.
16:51It would be Irwin, Iddon and Bridewell on that front row
16:54for race three later this afternoon.
16:58It's a good ride by Glen Irwin, this.
17:00Made the start, got going, didn't look about.
17:03Not made any errors.
17:04Not at all. Not that we've seen.
17:05And he'll have known from what happened in that first part as well,
17:08the speed that Tommy had in the first part.
17:11All this race of Glen's is based on that.
17:14Glen Irwin, it is the lead stone for Bridewell.
17:17This battle for third rages on between Iddon, Ride and Andy Irwin.
17:20He's still in the mix there.
17:22Danny Kent present, but doesn't look like he's going to have enough time
17:26to have a say on the last podium spot.
17:29And now finally, it does look like Tommy Bradwell's able to get away
17:32from that chasing pack, but he can do nothing with Glen Irwin.
17:37Glen's away.
17:38No, it has been a brilliant ride.
17:39Who's going to get third, though?
17:40Chris Iddon at the moment, holding on to it.
17:42Kyle Ride, eager to make it two podiums on the trot here at Snetterton.
17:45Braking now.
17:46No, there's a good opportunity.
17:48Yeah, even with a slipstream, I don't think Kyle could do anything
17:51about the speed of the Ducati down the straight.
17:53He's got one more chance.
17:54A good run through the Bommel and Corhams,
17:56and then maybe a little bit of a Bridewell-esque block pass
18:01into the chicane.
18:02But I don't think he's close enough.
18:03No, I don't think so.
18:04He's got supreme corner speed on that Yamaha,
18:06but he's not close enough.
18:07The chequered flag is being made ready.
18:09Another five-lap dash here at Snetterton,
18:11and this has been brilliant from Glen Irwin.
18:13What a response from the man who was the runner-up.
18:15They were locked on points, but they're not anymore.
18:18Glen Irwin wins race two at Snetterton
18:20in supreme style by almost two seconds.
18:25In only five laps, Tommy Bridewell,
18:27credit to him from 16th in the initial start.
18:30He takes second.
18:31I don't think he'll be too upset with that.
18:32No, I think he'll be happy with that.
18:34And it's another Ducati in third.
18:35Iddon did hold on to third place ahead of Kyle Ride.
18:39So it's another podium for Christian Iddon,
18:41and he's still in the mix in the championship.
18:46Let's get the confirmation of them.
18:48It's Glen Irwin that wins then from Tommy Bridewell
18:51ahead of Christian Iddon.
18:53Another podium for Iddon.
18:55That's his sixth of the season.
18:56Kyle Ride was fourth, ahead of Andy Irwin, Danny Kent,
18:58sixth, seventh for Vickers,
19:00ahead of O'Halloran, Nesbitt, Brooks, Born, and Lee Jackson.
19:04The last points went to Max Cook, Storm Stacey,
19:07and Peter Hickman,
19:08with Lewis Frollo, 16th, the leading pathway rider.
19:12They were locked on points, but they're not anymore,
19:14but there's still not a lot in it.
19:15Just two points will separate Glen Irwin and Tommy Bridewell
19:18heading into the third and final race later this afternoon.
19:21Christian Iddon is third, 17 points away.
19:25You can see there, both riders are really in the mix.
19:29He's staying after 13 races.
19:32No points for Corey Skinner further down the order there.
19:35He's injured, and we hope to see him back later on this season.
19:39Andy Irwin there.
19:40Good result from him.
19:4113th overall ahead of Max Cook.
19:43And yesterday's winner, Storm Stacey.
19:46Glen, we had a quick chat on Britain.
19:48We talked about a plan which you seem to execute
19:51to absolute perfection in both starts.
19:53It was a cop and copy.
19:54You must be over the moon.
19:56Yeah, it was well executed.
19:57I think every time I put a sticker on this helmet,
19:59I go faster and faster and faster over the years,
20:01more and more.
20:02Big shout out to Property Feats.
20:03That's my latest one there, so cheers, guys.
20:05Yeah, I feel really good.
20:07To be honest, Ricky, I just want to say hello to Laura
20:10and my three kids back at home,
20:12because they sacrificed quite a lot for me to be able to do this.
20:18In the past maybe two months,
20:20I've maybe lost a bit of control of that,
20:23and the whole gratitude aspect that I've really found myself on.
20:27I've worked very, very, very hard,
20:29even throughout this weekend.
20:31When I woke up this morning, I said to Westy,
20:33the old wingman, we're going to win today.
20:35I just hope my coach goes out and wins it now.
20:38A massive thanks to my team,
20:39because the back of the game, he was good.
20:41We also experimented for the race.
20:43Some things were good, some things we can improve.
20:45I felt like I read with a lot of clarity,
20:47resilience, and watched the pick boards.
20:50Obviously, the most important thing to say right now
20:52is a huge get well soon to our team boss.
20:54We were saying this last year with Paul,
20:57but Jordan's in the hospital at the minute.
21:00Just want to make sure I get well soon.
21:01He thinks he's going to be here for the last race,
21:03but I'm just off the phone.
21:04Jordan's pretty high on morphine.
21:06If I was you, Jordan,
21:07I would lay on that bed a little bit longer.
21:09We'll do everything we can on our end
21:11to make you feel as good as possible.
21:12Thank you so much.
21:13Fantastic ride from Glen Owen.
21:15Then it looks like this familiar rivalry
21:17is taking shape once again.
21:19He regains the lead from Tommy Bridewell
21:21in the championship.
21:22Could he extend it, or could Bridewell fight back
21:25in race three?
21:26Find out after the break.
21:27Welcome back to highlights of round five
21:29of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship
21:31here at Snetterton,
21:32where we've already seen Storm Stacey
21:34take his first win in the series,
21:36and Glen Owen recover the championship lead
21:38in race two.
21:39The Northern Irishman was on pole position
21:41for race three,
21:42which we can enjoy now in the company
21:44of James Whitton and Steve Day.
21:46Glen Owen, what a ride that was earlier, James.
21:49Knew what he had to do,
21:50and he actually put the plan into action perfectly.
21:53Let's see whether it's a proper ding-dong here
21:55between him and Tommy Bridewell again.
21:57It's eyes on the light.
21:58Sixteen laps coming up.
22:01Glen Owen on pole.
22:02All three on the front row got away well,
22:04particularly Christian Iden, number 21,
22:05on the Moto Rapido to Catty.
22:07Tommy Bridewell's got the inside line.
22:08Kyle Ride's coming through as well as Danny Kent.
22:10But it's going to be Iden
22:11that squeezes through to take the lead,
22:13and also a good ride there from the OMG rider.
22:15Was that Kyle Ride?
22:16No, it's Kyle Ride just slicing through, yeah.
22:18So Ride is up into second place,
22:19now into Wilson Corner.
22:20A tight approach for Christian Iden,
22:22but he leads still.
22:23There was a few people being picked up around there.
22:26Yeah, that's actually not too bad.
22:28That first lap, that's always a sketchy corner.
22:31It's that slow corner.
22:32Glen Owen then from pole.
22:33He's dropped back to fourth,
22:34and just behind him is Tommy Bridewell.
22:36So good start there from Christian Iden.
22:38He leads.
22:39Yeah, it's a start that Danny Kent needed.
22:42Well, we've said how many times this year
22:44we've said Danny Kent needs the start.
22:46He knows it.
22:47And this may be the one he needs.
22:49The problem is the Yamaha just doesn't have the punch
22:52to put you in a position to get past on the brakes
22:54down many of the straights.
22:55I will say, Danny Kent looked very good in these.
22:57Similar conditions to this in warm-up earlier on.
22:59He was the fastest rider out there.
23:01Danny Kent's next Moto3 World Champ.
23:04That means corner speed.
23:05This place is constant radius, all about corner speed.
23:08Very European in its feel,
23:10and the Yamaha likes that kind of thing as well.
23:12On to the back straight we go for the first time.
23:14Danny Kent there in the slipstream of fellow Yamaha rider,
23:17Kyle Ride.
23:18He's got the inside line,
23:19and he's going to move up into second.
23:21Good start for Danny Kent then.
23:22He's up into P2.
23:24Yeah, you can run a little bit wide there on the left
23:26because there's nobody going to get under you
23:28between the left and the right.
23:30Into the bomb hole now.
23:31Great opening lap for Christian Iden
23:33from the front row.
23:34Perfect start for him.
23:35Around Corham Curve.
23:37It's Iden, Kent, Kyle Ride,
23:39and then it's Irwin and Bridewell.
23:41They look very close together there in fourth and fifth.
23:43There you can see Bridewell.
23:45Likes the move into Murray's,
23:46but he thought better of it on this occasion.
23:48Yeah, they've got 16 laps, we think,
23:50unless the rain does come in this time.
23:52Only had five laps to try and catch Glenn Irwin,
23:54his championship rival,
23:56in the previous race today,
23:57and it wasn't enough.
23:58Kyle Ride retaliating.
24:00It's quite bumpy going in there.
24:01You know, you can soon find yourself
24:02trying to get under somebody on the brakes
24:04and then just missing it a little bit yourself.
24:06Not so for Kyle Ride.
24:07Good move.
24:08Double apex right-hander as well.
24:09So you can recover there.
24:10Yes, you can.
24:11It's the second apex that's the most important.
24:13So around Wilson Corner, turn two.
24:15Bit wide there for Andy Irwin a bit further back.
24:17He's along with Jason O'Halloran.
24:19That's there.
24:20Glenn Irwin thought about a move.
24:22You've got to be bold and brave
24:23to put one on someone into turn three.
24:25Yeah, I think we're going to see Glenn Irwin
24:27getting past after the little bits of straight,
24:29because there you go.
24:30Look, he can just put himself in a position where...
24:32Oh, boy!
24:33That was tight.
24:34Very tight.
24:35I think they probably touched there.
24:36Yeah.
24:37Irwin and Danny Kent.
24:38Yeah, Irwin went up the inside.
24:40Danny Kent had to react a couple of times.
24:41Sometimes you can feel somebody rubbing on your knee.
24:43Slightly wide there on the exit from Christian Idem,
24:45the race leader.
24:46Yeah, he's pushing on.
24:48Still second for Kyle Ride.
24:49Glenn Irwin then is up to third.
24:50Now he'll reel in Kyle Ride on that Yamaha.
24:53If he can get good drive out of Williams Corner, turn seven.
24:55Good drive out of Williams onto the straight.
24:57Dakay, we know he's quick down the straight.
24:59I think he's going to be in a position
25:01by the end of this straight
25:02to maybe have a little bit of a look.
25:03So far, so good for Christian Idem.
25:05A winner at Knock Hill last time out.
25:07A winner here at Snetterton before as well.
25:09He's out ahead of Kyle Ride.
25:11He's looking strong.
25:12He's having a much better weekend here at Snetterton
25:14than he had in Scotland.
25:16Much better season is Christian Idem.
25:18He's having a cracking season with the team.
25:20So in third place there, Glenn Irwin.
25:23And then just coming under threat now is Danny Kent.
25:26We mentioned a minute ago,
25:27Tommy Bridewell likes a move around Coroman into Murrays.
25:30Is he shaping up one now on Danny Kent?
25:32No.
25:33No.
25:34That is his signature move though this weekend.
25:36Ryan Vickers is there as well.
25:37I think on the exit there,
25:38a bit scrappy from Kyle Ride just out of Murrays.
25:40Over the line we go again.
25:41Here comes Glenn Irwin.
25:43I think Kyle Ride lost a bit of momentum at Murrays
25:45and that's allowed Glenn Irwin through.
25:47Yeah, I think you're right.
25:49So into Ritchie's corner.
25:51Irwin with the fastest lap of the race at 48.2.
25:53And now he hunts down.
25:54Followed to Cathy Ryder.
25:55Christian Idem.
25:56Tommy Bridewell has seen Irwin move
25:57and he wants to pick up a place.
25:59He's going to go for the block pass.
26:00Neatly done.
26:01It was very neat.
26:02It was a block pass, yes.
26:04But it didn't run wide.
26:05Didn't cause Danny Kent any problems really
26:07other than the fact he put him back a place.
26:09Ryder just going wide through turn two with Charlie Nesbitt.
26:12He's back in ninth behind Andy Irwin and O'Halloran.
26:14Brooks is 10th.
26:15Buckingham 11th.
26:16Cook in 12th.
26:17Now into turn four.
26:18Agostini's.
26:19It's Iden still from Irwin, Ride and Bridewell.
26:23So into Agostini's.
26:25There's your leading three.
26:26There's that gap James was referencing back to fourth place.
26:29And Kyle Ride and Danny Kent just losing ground
26:32on the leading trio.
26:35Fastest man on that last lap was Tommy Bridewell.
26:38He's into the 47s.
26:39We've not said that too many times this weekend.
26:41No, that's it.
26:42And that's nothing spectacular in terms of lap time.
26:46Lap record is a few years old now.
26:4822.
26:49Standing to a couple of years old.
26:50Standing to Taz McKenzie.
26:52A 47 flat.
26:53Actually a 47.079 if I remember rightly.
26:56Yeah.
26:57A shaky burn still holds the outright lap record.
26:59A 46 flat.
27:00There you go.
27:01Yeah.
27:02That's with qualifiers though and not in a race I don't think.
27:05You said that.
27:06I didn't.
27:07Well, I don't know.
27:08I'm sure.
27:09Oh, hang on.
27:10Oh, dear.
27:11It looked like he was picking up some speed.
27:13He's gone straight on.
27:14Easy to do round there as well and miss your braking point.
27:17What I would say is Shane Burns' lap record's
27:19getting better every year.
27:22Let's see what happened to Josh Brooks then.
27:24Yeah, he's just too hot on the approach to the car.
27:28He did well there actually.
27:29He did really well.
27:30He did really, really well.
27:31Yeah, I didn't know what was going to happen there.
27:33That grass is wet.
27:34He was doing probably 80 miles an hour when he hit it.
27:36Over the line there then.
27:37We start lap six.
27:38Idan now is just being caught slightly by Irwin and Bridewell.
27:42We're going to see them engage in battle soon.
27:45Up towards turn two.
27:47Tommy Bridewell has been good into here.
27:49He's made a couple of overtakes already stick.
27:51And this is good, you know, because the lead in three,
27:53what we've got is two Ducatis and a Honda.
27:56And I don't think there is much to choose between them.
27:59No.
28:00Oxford products Ducati put together really well by
28:02Wilfmore and his team.
28:03There's a PBM Ducati doing all good there.
28:06And then there's the Honda Racing Honda.
28:09And that is a quick bike.
28:11They get past all the time.
28:12It seems to be an improving bike, but definitely in the hands of
28:16Tommy Bridewell.
28:17It's been a revelation to me this year.
28:18Yeah, absolutely right.
28:19You mentioned earlier in the weekend when you spoke to Andy
28:21Irwin as well that it's great to see him showing signs of progress.
28:24He's just put in the fastest lap of the race in sixth on the Honda.
28:27He's just behind the two Yamahas of Bride and Kent.
28:29What you don't want to see is somebody with a talent that Andy
28:31Irwin has definitely got.
28:33There's no question of that.
28:34Struggling.
28:35For whatever reason.
28:36Doesn't matter why.
28:37I think it was a little bit angry.
28:39And you would be.
28:40You get a teammate that goes quicker than you own a bike that
28:42you've been on for a couple of three years.
28:43You don't like it.
28:44But actually, he's knuckled down.
28:46He's learning a bit off Tommy.
28:47They're working together.
28:48And I think he's benefiting from it now.
28:50Christian Iden still leads this one.
28:53And he's done a fine job.
28:54We're on lap six of 16.
28:56And at the moment, Irwin and Bridewell have not made a move on him.
28:59Remember, Iden is only 13 points down in the championship.
29:02Yeah.
29:03He's in third position.
29:04He's had a cracking season.
29:05Brilliant season.
29:06And let's not forget.
29:07I mean, he properly bashed himself about at Donington as well.
29:10Yeah, he did.
29:11Big eyesight coming out of the old hairpin.
29:12Looked nasty.
29:13Did actually manage to ride again once that day.
29:16You know, he did the last race of the day.
29:18So nothing broke.
29:19Lots and lots of bruising.
29:20I saw him the week after.
29:21He was sore everywhere.
29:22Like he'd been in a stone crushing machine for an hour.
29:25But yeah, great season for Christian.
29:28He was the fastest of the front three on that lap.
29:32Danny Kent actually with the fastest lap of this group.
29:35The rider in fifth place.
29:37They're just starting to catch up a little bit.
29:41A couple of rain spots on the camera lens.
29:44I said he's got, look, positive thinking.
29:46Quarter past four, you said that.
29:47Full dry race.
29:48Just remember that.
29:49Lap seven of 16 at the moment.
29:51It's dry for now.
29:52And Iden is doing a sterling job out front ahead of Glenn Irwin.
29:55Keeping him at bay.
29:56Glenn Irwin likes a move into turn four.
29:58And he's going to go for it as well.
29:59The door was just left slightly open.
30:01And he's run wide.
30:02But so was Christian Iden on the comeback.
30:04Iden can't get back through.
30:05Glenn Irwin leads.
30:06Yeah, little bit of a forced move there.
30:08But actually, he got it done.
30:10Leon Haslam was coasting.
30:12And it's another horrible weekend, unfortunately, for Leon.
30:15He just cannot find any momentum this season.
30:19He's entered pit lane.
30:20There's a move from him.
30:21This is the only time we've seen his move.
30:22Goes in really tight, really wide mid-corner.
30:25Doesn't make the late apex.
30:27But it doesn't matter.
30:28He's got the move done.
30:29So now, Tommy Bridewell would have seen that.
30:32And will not want to sit behind Christian Iden for long.
30:35Into Brundle we go, underneath the bridge.
30:38They flick left.
30:39They flick right.
30:41Right there, number 77 and 52, Danny Kent,
30:44have just been reeling in the leading trio.
30:46Andy Irwin is joining them as well.
30:47Yeah, Andy Irwin, fastest man so far in this race.
30:52Brooks has done well to recover since he went grass tracking.
30:54He's in ninth place, just behind Vickers and O'Halloran.
30:56He didn't lose much.
30:57He cut half the track out.
30:59Six points to be in it.
31:01Here we go, here we go.
31:02That was wide though.
31:03Another cut back in and he's trying to wrestle it out.
31:05They'll be side by side on the start-finish straight.
31:07Tommy Bridewell will have to relinquish that position again
31:10and have another go maybe into Turn 1.
31:12Yeah, they need to watch out because any battle in between them
31:15is going to give Glenn Irwin an advantage.
31:17That was a cleaner move and that should work.
31:20Yes, it has.
31:21You can see the second apex of that Turn 1 reaches.
31:24And that'll work.
31:26What we saw in Race 1 was that when Glenn Irwin
31:29was able to run his lines out front,
31:30although he was slightly wide into Wilson there,
31:33he was able to get out far into the lead.
31:35And Tommy Bridewell didn't really have an answer for him.
31:37Can he respond here in this third race?
31:40Well, he's got everything at his disposal now.
31:42He said there was a tyre issue.
31:44He hasn't got that.
31:45He's, yeah, this is an 11-level playing field now
31:49and it's exactly what we wanted and expected, to be honest.
31:52So Christian Nidden now has got a job on his hands
31:54to try and keep the two Yamahas behind him,
31:57of Kyle Ride and Danny Kent.
31:58And also Andy Irwin is, again, just clothed up on that group.
32:01There is the number 18, teammate to Tommy Bridewell.
32:04Yeah, great to see him going well.
32:06A seventh and a fifth so far for him this weekend.
32:11Well, it is just coming over the line.
32:13He's put in the fastest lap of the race at 47.7
32:16for the man in second, your champion, Tommy Bridewell.
32:19It's Tommy versus Glenn again.
32:21Yeah, we saw this coming.
32:23Here comes Kyle Ride up the inside of Christian Nidden.
32:26Nicely done.
32:27Yes, it was.
32:29Backed it in slightly, but held his line well.
32:31Kyle Ride then is up into third.
32:33He needs these points too.
32:36Christian Nidden, who was leading this one for a good seven laps,
32:38then is now out of podium positions.
32:40And Danny Kent is very close to him.
32:43Yeah, Kyle's had a consistent season.
32:45Did really well yesterday to bring a result of third.
32:47Ooh, he's wide there.
32:49That lets Christian back through.
32:51Thank you very much there, Christian.
32:53Back up into third place,
32:55but the pair of them will have lost time.
32:57Yeah, it's so annoying, you know, when you do everything right
32:59and you sneak up gradually over a couple of three laps
33:02on the people in front and then one single mistake,
33:04you're running a little bit off, you run five metres wide
33:07and that's all that good work undone.
33:09Particularly if you're on a Yamaha up against the Ducati.
33:11Yeah, because you're not going to be able to get anywhere near
33:13down the straight to make a move.
33:15We're on lap nine of 16,
33:17so on to the back straight now.
33:20Glenn Owen it is that still leads,
33:22but Tommy Bridewell looks like he's got stuff in control there in second.
33:25Further back, it's Vickers in seventh.
33:27Brooks is in eighth now.
33:29He's having a good battle with O'Halloran.
33:31Charlie Nesbitt is in that scrap,
33:33but the transponder's not working on his bike,
33:35so his name keeps on sliding down the board,
33:37but he's still in the race in the top ten.
33:39So it's fascinating, it's you watch your leading two, right?
33:41We know who it is, it's Glenn and it's Tommy.
33:44Look on the fast, the fast-flowing stuff,
33:47the bike on the side of the tyre,
33:49it's definitely the Honda that has the advantage.
33:51They can both ride a bike, there's nothing,
33:53there would be nothing in them if they're on the same bike,
33:55I don't think, in that point of the track.
33:57The Ducati, however, and they've always complained about the Ducati
34:00having a little bit of a lack of, what,
34:02mid-corner kind of stability and grip in the fast stuff,
34:06like we see at Thruxton, that's why the Ducati struggled there.
34:09And if you look around this first part of the track,
34:11it's all fast and flowing stuff.
34:13Once you've got around this turn two,
34:15it's definitely the Honda that has the advantage.
34:17Coming out of the corners, once the bike's sat up,
34:19it's definitely the Ducati that then has the advantage.
34:22And you've got to ride them both differently,
34:24and Tommy knows that.
34:25I mean, to be fair, we've probably not spoken about it enough,
34:27just how well Tommy's made the transition over
34:30to an in-line four, because he spent five years on a Ducati.
34:33Yes, he has ridden in-line fours before that,
34:36the one did rather well on them as well,
34:38but never anything like he did last year on the Ducati,
34:41which is one of the reasons we thought maybe
34:43he's going to struggle a bit going on to the Honda.
34:45Is that our excuse for not putting him in the top three at the start?
34:48I think it was mine.
34:49Yeah, I'll run with that.
34:50Glenn Irwin, it is, that leads on lap 10 of 16,
34:53but it is the old foes that fought tooth and nail
34:56for the championship last year, that are one and two.
34:58Idan, Ryde and Kent, you see,
35:00when they all stay in uniform, effectively,
35:02not taking laps out of each other,
35:04they're holding stations in the leading duo.
35:06Yeah.
35:07And Andy Irwin is still in that group as well, number 18,
35:11just behind Danny Kent.
35:14The sun is shining now down at the Snetterton,
35:17a bizarre weekend for the weather.
35:19Out of Nelson Corner, into the bomb hole.
35:22Just watch out for the Honda, he just rails through the bomb hole.
35:25And the same again round Corham.
35:27It's not even that smooth, it's quite rough around Corham.
35:30Campy, yeah.
35:31Look how good the Honda is there, look.
35:33Yeah, just so good there.
35:35And you just know if we're on the final lap here,
35:37Tommy, we'll be having a look there.
35:39Yeah, the problem is, you try that move,
35:42and most likely if you're racing and trying to pass somebody
35:45who's going as quick as you,
35:46you're going to run a little bit wide on the exit.
35:48That then hands the speed out of that corner
35:50and the advantage back to the person you've just passed.
35:53Well, if Tommy's waiting for a mistake,
35:54it's not coming from Glenn Irwin.
35:56He was picture perfect in the last race.
35:58Yeah, I don't think we've seen a mistake from him all weekend.
36:00And Christian Idan now has reeled them back in.
36:02He has as well, look at this.
36:04They need to stop scrapping because when, like you said,
36:06when they stop scrapping with each other, they're right with them.
36:08He was the fastest man on that last lap.
36:10He put in his personal best lap, a 48 flat,
36:12for Christian Idan, number 21.
36:14He had to weather a bit of a storm a few laps ago
36:17with the two Yamahas,
36:18who are now fighting it out actually for fourth place,
36:21side-by-side almost there for Kyle Ride and Danny Kent.
36:24Behind then Andy Irwin,
36:25there's four bikes battling it out for seventh place.
36:29And Brooks has got to the front of that group now.
36:32So he's having a much improved ride.
36:34So they've found something good in the setup there
36:36on the FHA Racing BMW.
36:38But at the moment, we're keeping an eye on this big group of six.
36:42Braking now into Brundle and Nelson Corner.
36:46Importantly, Glenn Irwin is really good
36:48at the end of the straight into Brundle there.
36:50And I don't think Tommy's quick enough
36:52at the place where he's really good
36:54and that is into Murray-Chicane.
36:57Tommy's got a great drive out of the bomb hole.
36:59Yeah, but he can't do much with it there.
37:00There's a big old Ducati right in his way.
37:02He's got to go the long way, but it's too long.
37:06Need to get him more corner speed, obviously,
37:08which means more lean angle.
37:10He's going for that.
37:11Here we go then.
37:12We're about to start the final lap of the race.
37:14There's only a few points in it in the championship
37:16and it's the same old duo fighting it out for victory.
37:19Glenn Irwin number two on the Hager PBM Ducati
37:22against Tommy Bridewell on the Honda.
37:24Yeah, and Glenn Irwin's just thinking,
37:26right, clean lap, hit my points,
37:28don't make any mistakes, don't run wide
37:30because he knows that Tommy is right there
37:32and will not need...
37:33Oh, and he has, he's gone wide!
37:35Tommy Bridewell's gone back through on him.
37:37They're going to be side by side
37:38and the inside line, though, is for Glenn Irwin.
37:40At turn three, Irwin there,
37:42trying to fend off Tommy Bridewell.
37:44He just about manages it.
37:46On the power a bit early there for Bridewell.
37:48Of course, yeah, he's trying to get the drive down.
37:51Oh, that was a moment for Irwin.
37:53That was a moment.
37:54Perhaps the only error we've seen all race.
37:56And that's exactly what Tommy's waiting for.
37:57Oh, and Christian's wide there as well.
37:59He's having a little bit of a look.
38:00That might be him done.
38:01That might be him done.
38:02And this is a bit of a buffer here for Glenn Irwin.
38:05And there was a twitch there.
38:06He had a moment.
38:07The front end twitched for Glenn Irwin.
38:09So Tommy Bridewell's been given a bit of a lifeline here.
38:12Tommy's running through there.
38:13Oh, he's really well there.
38:15This was brilliant.
38:16This is the moment down here.
38:18Yeah, look, when Irwin wide gets it all locked up,
38:20then they come out right together.
38:22Tommy, to be fair, give him room.
38:23He didn't put him right out to the stripe
38:24and have him close in the throat.
38:25This is as close as Tommy's been
38:27at the end of the back straight for some time.
38:28You know that he's going to try
38:29and pull the move off into Murray's.
38:31He's got to try and make this sector as clean as possible.
38:33Look at him using his own lines as much as possible.
38:36Yeah, well, I think this is going to be
38:38a little bit of a lunge.
38:39And I think if he's going to come,
38:40he's going to come at Murray's chicane.
38:42He's on the gas early, out of the bomb hole.
38:44He's trying to try and find a way through.
38:46Glenn Irwin is trying to make himself as wide as possible.
38:48He's making Tommy go a really long way round.
38:50There's not going to be close enough here.
38:52Is there going to be a desperate lunge here
38:53from Tommy Bridewell to try and win the race?
38:55No, there is not.
38:56Glenn Irwin goes defensive.
38:57But does that give Tommy the drive out of the corner?
38:59I don't think it does.
39:00The chequered flag is out.
39:01And it looks like Glenn Irwin has done enough here.
39:03Tommy Bridewell trying everything.
39:05But Irwin does a double here at Snetterton
39:07ahead of Tommy Bridewell.
39:08But there was really nothing to split the pair of them
39:11throughout that race.
39:12And Christian Iden is third, with Kent in fourth.
39:15Great race.
39:16Brilliant race, despite there maybe not being
39:18that challenge on the last lap.
39:19They were both just completely on the edge.
39:22Yes, they were.
39:23They were both better than each other
39:25in different parts of the circuit.
39:26That really boiled up nicely, didn't that?
39:28Let's get the results then in for you
39:30at the chequered flag.
39:31We finally had a full race.
39:33Glenn Irwin wins it.
39:34Brilliant race, that, between Irwin and Bridewell.
39:37Christian Iden takes a solid third
39:38ahead of Danny Kent.
39:39Kyle Ride was fifth.
39:40Andy Irwin sixth.
39:41Brooks there, despite going grass tracking,
39:43was seventh, ahead of Vickers, O'Halloran,
39:45Charlie Nesbitt, Lee Jackson, and Max Cooke.
39:49The final points in race three
39:51went to Franco Born, Peter Hickman,
39:54and Storm Stacey.
39:59So we head away from Snetterton in Norfolk
40:03to Brands Hatch in Kent in a fortnight.
40:05Four points separate Irwin and Bridewell.
40:07It is on.
40:08Iden, Ride, and Kent.
40:10Still not a million miles away,
40:12but they're going to need a big weekend
40:13as we head south next time out.
40:16Some decent points there for Brooks.
40:18He's tenth in the championship.
40:19Of course, no Skinner here.
40:21Get well soon to Rory, Max Cooke's 14th,
40:23ahead of Storm Stacey, a winner here yesterday.
40:27Been a fantastic weekend.
40:29That was a fantastic result.
40:30Really measured.
40:31Couple of little mistakes here and there,
40:33but nonetheless, you held on to the end,
40:35should I say, and another victory.
40:37Yeah, really pleased with that one.
40:39First of all, hats off to Tommy and Kristin
40:41because they were right there.
40:43We struggled a lot.
40:45I know maybe I have a bike that's strong on the straight,
40:48but we were struggling a lot from half distance
40:52when I took the lead.
40:53I thought, OK, we're really, really OK here.
40:55I decided when to take the lead.
40:57It felt like the race was in my hands at that point.
40:59Then I was losing the front a lot.
41:02Turn two, turn three, turn five.
41:05The last lap, I lost the front.
41:07I lost it two or three times there.
41:09Bars were turning in on me, put me on the curves.
41:11We were really in trouble.
41:15That was a race where the guys gave me a great package earlier.
41:19Outside of their control, weather conditions changed,
41:21maybe some grease from a little bit of rain or whatever.
41:24The grip for me wasn't as good,
41:26but we had to dig deep like a champion.
41:29I said to Tommy on the end lap,
41:31it's no secret that we don't go for a beer together,
41:34but I was like, mate, I love racing against you
41:37because you're like me.
41:38You'll never give up.
41:39When his bike, when I made the same mistake at T2,
41:42there was only one place I was going at T3.
41:44From then, I tried to ride my absolute butt off.
41:47I feel we'd done a really good last lap.
41:50He's so good around Corham.
41:52Probably the fastest I went around Corham all race.
41:54The front was folding constantly.
41:55It was in a fold nearly for a while.
41:57I never gave up.
41:58This team never gave up.
42:01Six wins out of 14 finishes.
42:03Pretty nice thing.
42:04To get that race of aces is cool.
42:06Some of the legends have that one.
42:0714 races down in BSB for 2024.
42:10Just four minutes between Glenn and Tommy.
42:13Roll on, Brands Hatch.
42:16A fight that is going to go all the way, you feel,
42:18to Brands Hatch at the final round of the season,
42:21just like it did last year.
42:22That's where we're going next as well.
42:24Glenn Irwin with a four-point lead
42:26as we head to the midpoint of this campaign.
42:29Brands Hatch is next for the Summer Bash.
42:31We'll see you then.
42:51[♪upbeat music playing♪
