00:00Let's go to the marquee matchup in primetime. The top 20 tilt
00:06in College Station between Texas A&M and Notre Dame. The
00:11fighting Irish win by double digits on the road in a low
00:15scoring affair. 23 to 13 over the Aggies winning outright as
00:21a two and a half point underdog. Coach Bowden, what
00:23did Marcus Freeman entering year number three show you last
00:27night with his Notre Dame school? Oh, a big hurdle. He
00:30he he overcame a big hurdle beating Texas A&M in College
00:34Station. That is a tough place to play. Uh Jimbo left their
00:38coach Elko a lot of good football players and he they
00:41were even favored uh against the top team Notre Dame but
00:43Notre Dame showed their stuff. Great defense. Almost put me to
00:47sleep after watching Miami, Florida because of the way the
00:49game was played but it was a great defensive game. Notre
00:53Dame showed their stuff by hanging there making the big
00:55plays at the end and the difference was the quarterbacks.
00:58It really was. Defenses were both very good but the
01:00differences were the quarterbacks. Wigman threw two
01:03interceptions in the fourth quarter had three. I think
01:05three incompletes in a row when they had a chance to get ahead
01:07or tied up and did not do what he could do. I think Notre Dame
01:11has proved they can play against anybody anywhere this
01:13year. It's gonna be exciting for them. I think Texas A&M has
01:16gotta answer that quarterback situation uh cuz you can't just
01:19win with defense in the SEC. You have to have a defense but
01:22you gotta be able to put points on the board. And that's where
01:24I wanna go to coach. Perception, right? The
01:27perception was that Texas A&M was the better team, right?
01:30Eight and a half win total potentially and being a dark
01:33horse contender in the SEC. Notre Dame was looked at as
01:36maybe a middle of the road team. Still not maybe with the
01:40elite teams like Georgia and Ohio State respectively. So, I
01:44I agree with that but from Texas A&M, do you feel this is a
01:48top twenty-five caliber team especially from an offensive
01:51perspective and watching Conor Wegman last night because I
01:54a lot of scouts think he's actually a first round
01:57selection in the NFL draft. Well, you know, I'm not sure
02:01yet. I haven't watched him a lot last year. I watched him
02:04last night and um and I'm not sure why. They have to be able
02:07to utilize him, throw the ball downfield. If you're gonna have
02:10a quarterback that's that talented, you gotta out, throw
02:12the ball downfield, give him chance to make big plays. So
02:15many times that a quarterback just dumps it off and throw
02:18short passes. It's not the quarterback. It's the play
02:20calling. They wanna keep it, keep it close, keep it close,
02:23win with defense. They've gotta open it up and if they're
02:25gonna win in the SEC, they gotta score points cuz I don't
02:28care how good your defense is. There's gonna be outstanding
02:31teams in the conference that are gonna score points. A
02:33really good front seven for Mike Elko who handles a lot of
02:37the defensive responsibilities. Colin Klein, former K State
02:41great at the quarterback spot, worked in the Little Apple in
02:44Manhattan under Chris Climb in the last few years as the
02:47offensive coordinator. His first game as the OC for A&M
02:50last night, a mixed bag to say the least.
