00:00Tropical storm and tank sustained rainfall has had parts of Mega Manila and
00:04beyond underwater such as in Antepolo where the rains triggered a landslide in
00:10Navotas where a boat surprisingly caught fire and two barges got swept all the
00:15way to the dike and in San Mateo where the river overflowed its banks and
00:20caused widespread flooding that led to evacuation of many residents. Our Daniel
00:26Manalastas sums them all up in this report. Metro Manila and nearby
00:33provinces were not spared by anything. In Antepolo City this video showed how the
00:38road turned into a river in which cars went under and were swept by the strong
00:44current. There were also reported vets and missing persons according to the
00:48local government.
01:02Meanwhile in the coastal area of Baseco Compound in Tondo, Manila, a number of
01:07residents lost their homes due to the bad weather.
01:18On the other hand, the Marikina City LGU raised Marikina River to second
01:29alarm due to sustained rainfall while they were all prepared for the rescue
01:34operations.
01:49San Mateo Rizal was also not spared from the floods. In the morning some roads
01:55simply went underwater too deep for vehicles to cross or pass over and some
02:00roads under repair were also affected due to the unrelenting rains. The local
02:06government assured that supplies are in place for the evacuees.
02:19Later on, we have two distribution teams. We will deploy them to deliver relief goods.
02:32Meanwhile in Navotas City, in time of ending, this ship caught fire and while
02:39the flames raged, two other barges were swept by strong currents all the way to
02:44the coastal in Barangay Navotas West.
02:48The ship caught fire in the sea. There were people who jumped from the boat.
02:54The ship caught fire and the people drowned.
02:57That's all for now from the National TV for a new and better Philippines.
