00:00Before we get into their enchanting voices,
00:04let's first talk about the group Timeless or the group Tribute
00:09that is made up of 5 members.
00:10They are Sweet, Samaniego,
00:12Butchana, Terrence Guillermo,
00:15O'Neal, Tzorez,
00:16Nazer, Salcedo, and Margarita Rojo.
00:19Good morning and welcome to Rise and Shine, Filipinas.
00:21Good morning.
00:23These are the prominent ones in the musical theater.
00:26I heard earlier that they're really good.
00:28Anyway, they practiced earlier.
00:30Anyway, your group is called Tribo.
00:33So how did you come up with this kind of name of your group?
00:38Actually, there's an original Tribo which is Tribong Pinoy
00:42during the early 80s and it was the late Danny Dolor
00:48who managed before that.
00:52One of the members there, the singer, the lead singer,
00:56was my professor from the Conservatory of Music,
01:01Professor Gloria Coronel.
01:03And then when I was already in college,
01:05of course, 10 years ago, 15 years ago,
01:10she was already hiring me as a soprano.
01:14So there were no other members.
01:16Some were already in the States and retired.
01:19So she was hiring me.
01:20So that experience,
01:22that was the amount that I experienced with Tribong Pinoy.
01:26And then after 10 years,
01:28after 10 years that I was gone,
01:32I went back to what Danny said,
01:34can you form a group?
01:36Because I have money.
01:38And then I named it again
01:40because I got inspired to that group, Tribong Pinoy.
01:42But this time, it's just Tribo.
01:44So now you're going to be together.
01:46It's been 10 years to be exact that you're going to be together.
01:51So with that, we want to know,
01:53Tribo has these songs about promoting Filipino culture, right?
01:57Tell us more.
01:58Actually, we started from, of course, the folk songs.
02:02When we were singing, it's Marga and I
02:05as the pioneering members.
02:09And then, of course, the others went to Disney.
02:11And then this is the last group.
02:16So we started, of course, Kuntiman songs.
02:20And then, Tribong Pinoy, before,
02:22we also sang West Side Story,
02:26Suare, Taptulian.
02:30Now this time, we have two types of concerts.
02:34In classical, it's all Kuntiman.
02:36In timeless, it's a mix of genres.
02:40Your upcoming concert.

02:45We're not only singing our Kuntiman.

03:09the Best Cultural Group in ALU Awards.

03:21got nominated
03:23because the Tribong Pinoy won twice
03:25as Best Cultural Group before.
03:29So for me,
03:31I'm very excited
03:33to do it more
03:35because this time,
03:37it's really fate
03:39to go after 10 years.
03:41It also helped
03:43to prove that
03:45after 10 years,
03:47I'm certified to be a Tribong Pinoy.

03:55to be a part of this group?
03:57Not only promoting Filipino culture,
03:59but also to entertain more Filipinos
04:01when it comes to different kinds of singing.

04:09we're friends,
04:11but we're also musicians.
04:13When we're rehearsing,
04:15we talk a lot,
04:17we eat a lot.
