00:02Divine Ikubo popularly known as Reema has narrated how Christ Embassy Church founded by Pastor Chris Oyakilomi helped him.
00:09His mother and family when they felt very lost and abandoned after his father.
00:14Justice Ikubo died in a controversial manner at a hotel in Benin City in 2008.
00:21Reema who was born in the year 2000 and was just barely 8 years old when his father was reported dead at a hotel
00:28after allegedly having time with a lady, said the then Benin Senior Pastor of the Christ Embassy Church in Benin City,
00:35Rev. Tom Amenkianan opened shop for his mother, through which, he said,
00:40his mother was able to cater for the family after everything they had were taken away from them following the death of his father
00:47who was the then General Manager of the Edo State Government-owned 80-book publishing company.
00:52The singer led the narration during the Christ Embassy Church service he attended on Sunday, September 1, 2024 in Benin City
01:00after his homecoming concert on Friday held at Samuel Ogbe Mudia Stadium,
01:04an event which has been the talk of the town and it has been trending on social media platforms since on Tuesday
01:10when the Guinness Book of World Record music star arrived the Edo State Capitol ahead of the event.
01:17Reema in 2020 had accused the People's Democratic Party, PDP over the death of his father, Justice Ikubo.
01:25The music star made this known via his Twitter page on Monday, September 28, 2020,
01:31where he asked the former ruling party to come clean about his late father's mysterious death.
01:37PDP you all need to explain what happened to my father in that hotel room.
01:43Justice Ikubo's son has risen, he tweeted.
01:47His father, Justice Ikubo was found dead in a room at Binz Hotel in Benin City, the state's capital, in 2008.
01:56According to media reports, Ikubo checked in with a female friend at about 8, 3 p.m. on the day he died.
02:04The lady reportedly left the hotel premises after spending some hours with the deceased.
02:10Reema, while expressing gratitude to the church on Sunday for its guidance and support,
02:16especially for coming through for his family after the death of his father,
02:20donated over N105 million to the church infrastructure and widows who were present during the Sunday service.
02:28Reema said, I'm not here to give myself any accolades or glory. I'm here to give God the glory.
02:36I feel like it is important to give back because the church has embraced and prayed for me
02:42and has kept me very consistent with my spirit.
02:46Firstly, I want to give a pledge of N40 million to the infrastructure of the church.
02:53I want to pledge N20 million to Rhapsody of Realities.
02:57And being the fact that I came from the teen's church,
03:00I also want to pledge N25 million to the infrastructure of the teen's church.
03:06I'm pledging N20 million to widows in church today.
03:10Before making the donations for widows in the church,
03:14Reema narrated how the church supported his family during a difficult time after his father's passing.
03:20When I was 8 years old, when I lost my dad, we felt very lost and abandoned.
03:27All that we had was taken from us and we felt very alone.
03:32I remember at the time, Pastor Joy and Pastor Tom, the pastors of this church,
03:38they opened a shop for my mom and that was how she managed to take care of us.
03:43Ahead of the homecoming concert, the Oba of Menin honors Reema with a royal plaque.
03:49The Oba presented the plaque to Reema when the singer paid him a visit at his palace
03:54ahead of his homecoming concert at the Obe Stadium in Menin City.
03:58At the Oba Palace, Reema sang his popular hit track, Baby Calm Down, to entertain the monarch.
04:06Videos posted online by phone seekers showed the Oba appeared entertained
04:10and he couldn't be seen asking one of his daughters, Princess Ogogo, to join Reema.
04:16The princess and her little sister quickly left the corner of the palace hall

04:31Princess Ogogo was later mandated by the king to present the royal plaque to Reema

04:45of a 6,000-capacity Edo Arena named after him by Governor Godwin Obaseki.
04:51Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki had stated that the popular musician, Reema,
04:57was a backstage performer at his 2016 inauguration ceremony.
05:02In a post on X social media platform on Friday, Obaseki praised Reema's achievements
05:08in the music industry, noting that he has become a global sensation in just eight years.
05:14The governor expressed his pride in Reema's journey, saying,
05:18only a few could have imagined that Heiss Reema, who was one of the backstage acts
05:23at my inauguration in 2016, would achieve global sensation status by 2024.
05:30During his homecoming concert on Friday, Reema could be seen showing his value for women.
05:37He had some challenges of fans jumping offstage to hug him which led to some situations
05:42where he kicked one of the fans who jumped offstage.
05:45The security network mounted by the bodyguards and the fan was seen walking directly face-to-face
05:51to Reema when the music star kicked him and the fan was later dragged offstage by the bodyguards.
