00:00Hello, how are you? This is Emma. Welcome to a new video just for you. This time I'm
00:19going to read you a lovely story, okay? First, I'm going to show you my very special positive
00:38affirmation cards. And do you remember that positive affirmations are kind words we say
00:53to ourselves every day? Always remember to be kind to yourself, okay? Let's choose. I love these cards
01:14because they make a really nice sound. Can you hear? Isn't that good? Okay. This is a lovely one. So, I'll say it first
01:36and then you can say it, okay? Remember, say it to yourself and have a nice big smile. Ready? That's it. I like making people smile. Can you say it?
01:57Well done. Again, I like making people smile. There. Good. One more.
02:27This one is very nice. There is no one better to be than myself. Can you say it? There is no one better to be than myself.
02:56That's good, isn't it? We have to say, I like to be me. I am good at being me. Try to say that every day, okay? There is no one better to be than myself.
03:25You're very good at this. Isn't that fun? I like my special cards.
03:48Okay, shall I read your book for you? Are you tucked up in bed or nice and cozy? Good. Or perhaps you're snuggled up on the sofa all nice and warm.
04:08Okay.
04:29This book is called Live With My Family. And it was written by Renee Hooker and Carl Jones. And all of the lovely pictures were drawn by Katherine Durst.
04:57Can you see what's happening on the front? We have a family sitting on a great big pink sofa.
05:20And it has a green blanket. There's a little boy and a little girl. And look where the baby is, climbing all over the top of the sofa. Isn't that funny?
05:43Some lovely pictures on the wall. All of animal families. Look at those parrots. Shall we open it and have a look? Okay. Let's see.
06:12There's a pattern here. Do you know what animal has this pattern all over them? What is it? Ah.
06:41And it says here, even the closest families have trouble getting along sometimes. On just such a day, a young girl daydreams about what life would be like if her family of humans were a pride of lions. Oh my goodness.
07:02And pandemonium of parrots, a smack of jellyfish and more. Each imagined animal adventure brings her closer to realizing just how lucky she is. Let's see.
07:32Look at these birds flying in the sky. Life with my family. Life with my family is not always easy.
08:00Look. Daddy's doing the ironing. Oh my goodness. He just burned the top. Little boy is being very naughty with the yogurt. Oh dear.
08:17His sister's worried that the yogurt might go in her face. Oh my goodness. The baby is crying. I don't think he wants to have his breakfast. Do you?
08:32Mommy looks a bit tired. Life with my family is not always easy. So sometimes I wonder what else we could be.
08:55Oh dear. Look. The yogurt went on her head. Naughty, naughty brother.
09:05Mommy's worried that the jumper became too hot. Look. And she poured water all over it. Oh my goodness me. There'll be water everywhere.
09:25As a pod of pelicans, we'd soar above the trees. They would, wouldn't they? Imagine being a pelican and flying far, all above the trees, all through the sky. Wouldn't that be fun?
09:48And you could see everyone all down below. Have you ever imagined being a bird? Have you?
10:00There's a little baby pelican. And look, there's a crab on the beach, saying hello.
10:18No time to fight as a busy swarm of bees. She's imagining being in a family of bees. He'd be buzzing, buzzing all day long, making honey, saying hello to your friends.
10:45Collecting pollen from the flowers. It's lots of work, isn't it, being a bee?
11:05This is the beehive, where they all work.
11:15And they're carrying the pollen from the flowers.
11:31As a school of fish, we'd swim among the bubbles.
11:38Lots of bubbles in the water.
11:48One, two, three, four, five, six. Oh my goodness, look at how many bubbles there are, all around.
12:00And this is the coral, all different colours.
12:14Aren't they sweet?
12:18And these look to me like they are clownfish.
12:23That's the baby one, the mummy, sister, brother, and the daddy, all swimming around the sea.
12:40Wow, imagine being a buffalo. As a herd of buffalo, flies would be our only troubles, because flies like to fly all around the buffalo.
13:07There's lots of them, look.
13:15I wonder how many flies there are on these pages. Can you imagine? Have a guess.
13:23How many? That's so many.
13:28There's the mummy, the sister, the brother, the little baby, and the daddy. A herd of buffalo.
13:43As a playful pride of lions, we'd hunt and we'd trap.
13:51They go hunting together for their food, don't they?
13:57And they climb in the trees.
14:01Sometimes they sleep in the branches.
14:04Do you think that's comfortable?
14:06Well, they're comfortable, aren't they?
14:12And look at the little sister.
14:14She's playing with the tail.
14:16Daddy's tail.
14:20I have cats, and sometimes, sometimes, they sleep in the branches.
14:25She's playing with the tail.
14:27Daddy's tail.
14:29I have cats, and sometimes, sometimes, they play with each other's tails.
14:35It's very funny.
14:39As a playful pride of lions, we'd hunt and we'd trap.
14:46We'd trap.
14:52Wow, this is a very long word.
14:54Are you ready?
14:56As a pandemonium of parrots, we'd squawk and we'd flap.
15:06A pandemonium of parrots.
15:08That's the name for a group or a family of parrots.
15:16Look how beautiful and colorful they are.
15:22Red with yellow and blue.
15:30Blue with yellow all down the front.
15:36And look, the baby is green.
15:42The brother is blue.
15:46And the sister is a beautiful bright red with blue and yellow stripes on the wings.
15:56And yellow all down the front.
16:00They look so pretty in the green trees, don't they?
16:04Isn't that nice?
16:08As a pandemonium of parrots, we'd squawk and we'd flap.
16:16Wow, look at the colors on this page. Isn't it nice?
16:28As a smack of jellyfish, we'd float clear as grass.
16:36Clear as glass.
16:39Because jellyfish are see-through and you can see through them like glass.
16:53Floating and flowing all through the sea.
17:03Isn't that lovely?
17:06Isn't that lovely?
17:08And the sea is a very deep and rich greeny blue color.
17:17As a wisdom of wombats, we'd waddle through the grass.
17:35A wisdom of wombats.
17:39Did you know that a group of wombats is a wisdom?
17:46A wisdom of wombats.
17:50Mummy's eating the grass.
17:54The brother and sister are playing.
17:58The little baby is on daddy's back.
18:10The sky's pink.
18:13Pink little stars all floating around.
18:23Oh look, there's a ladybird on the grass.
18:27Smiling, saying hello.
18:30Oh.
18:32But as animals, I guess we might have problems too.
18:40They look a little bit worried, don't they?
18:42Let's see.
18:50Oh dear.
18:53Oh dear.
18:55What if they tried to take my little brother to the zoo?
19:01Oh dear.
19:03What a shame.
19:07Those nasty people shouldn't do that to them, should they?
19:11They should let them be a family and live together.
19:17Oh my goodness.
19:20Oh my goodness.
19:26Don't worry, I think they got him back.
19:28It's okay.
19:34Life isn't always easy with my family.
19:40Look how busy they are.
19:42Doing lots of things.
19:46She's helping with the dishes there.
19:49Mummy's trying to chop the onions
19:51and the baby
19:53sitting on her shoulder.
19:55Oh my goodness.
19:57Little brother has dropped all of his spaghetti.
20:01Oh dear.
20:03Life isn't always easy with my family.
20:11But while we're together,
20:13there's nowhere else
20:15I'd rather be.
20:18Oh.
20:20Look.
20:22Life can sometimes be a little bit difficult.
20:26But they're all together
20:28and they're still happy
20:30and they love each other
20:32and that's important.
20:34Isn't that nice?
20:36But while we're together,
20:38there's nowhere else
20:40I'd rather be.
20:44Daddy's feeding the baby.
20:48And look.
20:50Sister,
20:52she thinks that's very funny.
20:54Oh look.
20:56He's got sauce
20:58all over his cheeks
21:00and he's slurping up
21:02his pasta.
21:06And Mummy,
21:08she's having a little rest
21:10because she's been very busy.
21:12And she's eating her dinner nicely
21:14and she's showing the children
21:17how to eat.
