00:03I'm doing fantastic. I want to thank you very much for having us here today.
00:07Very excited, very, very excited here. Excited or nervous?
00:10A little of both. You need to relax. Let's just talk here. It's Jenny. All right, guys. So we're
00:15here for an important reason, and there's something that happened in your life. How many years ago,
00:19you would say? Almost 18.
00:2118 years. Wow. Time flies, doesn't it? Yeah. It's 18 years ago my daughter was born,
00:26my beautiful Savannah, and what we had happen is that Savannah was born blind, and the doctors had
00:33given us a narrative report that she will never see ever. It'll be in total darkness forever,
00:39and that was the final narrative report that we received.
00:41I'm sure you saw a lot of doctors also. Maybe they all agreed or...
00:45Everyone did. We were in the medical field, my brother and I, and so we had access to a lot of
00:50specialists, and that's exactly what we went to, a couple of specialists. And so we saw the
00:54prognosis. It was kind of grim. So being that daddy's little girl was never going to see,
00:59so it wasn't too good of a scene there. But the ultimate ending of the story turned out to be
01:04something miraculous, not just short of a miracle. It was a miracle.
01:08And that pretty much just gave you a reason to do what you're doing today,
01:12which we're going to get into right away. But okay, so the charity that you have,
01:15Charity for Kids, mycharityforkids.org, it's specifically for kids that are blind, correct?
01:21Well, it won't cater specifically only to kids that are blind, but also children with special
01:25needs. So any other complications that any of the other kids may have, then we cater to them also.
01:32But your personal experience, that's the only thing that's happened to you, of course, I hope.
01:37Yes. The most dramatic experience?
01:39I guess, yeah.
01:40Yeah, that is definitely the most dramatic one that's ever happened. It's been an uphill climb
01:45from there, and the plateau that we've reached is beautiful. It's actually beautiful.
01:50The cool thing about this charity is that not a lot of charities can say that they've actually
01:53had some kind of miracle happen as an example, pretty much. I feel like the charity that he
01:58opened up is an example to a miracle, actually. And a lot of parents can actually take that and
02:03say, okay, if it's happened to him, why not? Maybe it can happen to me also. So let's go
02:08from there. Let's go 18 years from now. How long did it take for this particular day to come?
02:14Well, what had happened, what had transpired was after the diagnosis with Savannah from the
02:19doctors, I had been working with some of the divisions for the blind services in Jersey,
02:25and some of the other agencies that cater to disabilities for kids. And one day on my way
02:31to work, I saw Savannah. She was just sitting there near the door, and she probably wasn't
02:37more than less than six months old, which I see every day, kiss you goodbye, there goes dad,
02:42off to work, to the office. And what had happened is I got in my car, and on the way down to my job,
02:49hmm. Are you getting teary on me? Well, yeah. I always get back to that microsecond.
02:56He was getting a little worried that that was going to happen. The first thing I said was,
02:59you know, why would you ever be embarrassed of that? If anything, that's the greatest thing that
03:03you should get like that every time you think about it, because it's a great feeling, you know?
03:06It is a great feeling. Don't feel embarrassed, feel proud of it. Well, it is a great feeling.
03:10It's just that it's overpowering, overwhelming at times. And what had happened is no audio or visual,
03:17but I was telling Jenny that it was almost like one of those little ticker tape things that go
03:21across. And what I had a vision of thought was that Savannah will see as much as I believed.
03:26So you heard a voice in your head, pretty much.
03:29Right. It was sort of like they say in your conscious mind.
03:31Right. But why did that happen? I mean, you had to have been asking for something,
03:36or in a verge of your life, maybe that you wanted to change something.
03:39I had been in prayer and deep meditation since she was born. And I mean that I would meditate
03:45every day for hours upon hours upon hours on positive energy. I'm a universal type of guy.
03:50And putting energy and healing energy into Savannah and actually laying hands on Savannah.
03:56And that was maybe doing an error in the time that people, you know,
04:00a little skeptical about that. I think people are a little bit
04:03more open to that nowadays, right? Right. Exactly. And even myself,
04:06I was doing it out of desperation, to be quite frank.
04:08You were doing the right thing. You know that we are all channels, really. It's just a matter of
04:13if you want to use your channel or not. So all you were doing is invoking energy.
04:16That's all you were doing. Yeah. Well, I understand it now.
04:18Back then I was just in prayer. It was a desire to help my daughter. And I was begging God,
04:25I was begging the universe. And then that's when something very miraculous happened in our lives
04:31and in my life. And what it was is that when I saw her going, when I was leaving the house
04:36that day to go to the office, and I went to kiss her goodbye, the door was ajar a little,
04:40and I saw the light coming in. And she had put her hand up as though she was touching the light.
04:44And I said, Oh, well, you know, she was just doing that. But something stayed in my mind on
04:49the way to work. So what I did was called up one of the people at the division for the blind.
04:53And I said, Can you send someone up there and just take a look at my daughter? And they said,
04:57Okay, why don't you come on up with us and tell me what was going on? What'd you see? What'd you
05:00think? And so I told her what I had thought. And they did a basic test. And what they did was they
05:07took bubbles out of her pocketbook. I know, I know, right? If she would have told me what to do
05:12or to try it. So she took this little thing of bubbles out and she blew bubbles and Savannah
05:17started grabbing for the bubbles reaching for them. And the woman right out like that said,
05:21this girl has vision. And that's when I couldn't have you know, I just broke down. I would have
05:27broke down as well. I would have screamed. I don't know what I would have done. Yeah,
05:30it was such a relief. It was, uh, it was somebody heard you almost, right?
05:36Yeah. And matter of fact, in the same microsecond that I realized that she had vision,
05:40that it was a miracle. It was the same exact second that I remembered what I had been praying for.
05:45And that what I was sort of receiving from the universe was that your daughter will see
05:49Savannah will save as much as you believe Mark. And so then I knew there's something kind of
05:54special was happening to me also. How do the doctors react? Because that's
05:58they're very skeptical to all these things. So it's very difficult to get them to actually
06:01understand any of these kinds of things. That's, uh, something that's, uh,
06:07kind of strong to respond to because the doctors didn't want to respond to it all.
06:12I already had the narrative reports. They had already given me two prescriptions to,
06:16uh, take our eyes out and put ocular. Oh, what? Oh my God. I'm sorry. I just,
06:21that's dad's little girl. I mean, and you know, something that happens to other kids
06:25and that's who they are. That's what happened. So wait a little longer. She was only six months
06:29for God's sake. We're already prepping for that. Uh, saying so that the bone wouldn't overgrow. I
06:34had to understand where they were, what they were concerned with. Uh, but they were hitting me with
06:38things like left and rights, you know, without even consoling me at first. Uh, so that was kind
06:42of difficult for me to accept. So, uh, when I went back, uh, with Savannah, I said, oh, by the way,
06:46do you see my kids? And, uh, she has pretty good vision at this point. You know, the doctor didn't
06:51anything to say and I didn't really want to, uh, it was a miracle. So I was happy with the miracle.
06:56I mean, statistically, you know, they saw some, they gave you what the, what the, um, you know,
07:01all the tests said, that's pretty much it. Right. They did the best they could do. Uh,
07:05and, and I think that the testing was true. I do believe the testing was true. I do believe that
07:10the energy, uh, you know, universal energy, if you're praying, if you're in deep thought that
07:15way on a consistent basis, you can heal. I mean, there are so many cases of people healing others
07:20now with laying of hands. I mean, I know certain people that are doing this internationally. So
07:25I was putting out the same type of energy. So I'm, I'm a happy camper, uh, you know,
07:29and be able to spread that word now. You really, it was just like an experiment, wasn't it? I mean,
07:32you're just like, let's see if it works, you know, actually it was, and it was, it was sort of like
07:37the last thing I had in my bag and, you know, and to see what comes down to faith, it came,
07:41my last thing in the bag was prayer and it wound up being the best thing in the bag.
07:46There you go. Very good. So there you have it. I mean, I think that, um, now you made a promise
07:50before I continue. What was the promise? Okay. The promise that I had made when I got this little
07:54vision of thought was that, uh, I will dedicate the rest of my life to helping kids in need.
07:58Okay. Were you happy about that or were you like, he has no choice now, right?
08:02I wasn't overwhelmed as I was with her vision. Um, uh, but I realized, and of all people,
08:09my mom had remembered when I told her that she said, you know what your promise God, right.
08:13And she's very devout with her prayer. And I said, I understand mom. I say, right. So slowly,
08:17but surely I had integrated the, um, the, um, to, to God, my, my prayer to him, my dedication.
08:25Uh, I slowly integrated into my life and started forming, uh, some of these carnivals and festivals
08:30and giving back to the kids in need and different agencies. Believe it or not, you know, a lot of
08:34people, and this happens every day, they ask, ask, ask for something to happen. It happens.
08:39Oh, great. It was a, it was a coincidence. And then they keep on going with their life.
08:42And then years after things go back to the way they were, you know, the way they were.
08:46So, um, I think it is important that you keep going, I guess, with that promise. Um, you know,
08:51I guess up to whatever kind of percentage you want, it could be a hundred percent,
08:54or it could be maybe 80 and then another job. I mean, I don't think it necessarily means that
08:57you have to live your life. I don't know if you could live out of that, but, um, but I guess
09:02whatever you do, you have to do it because you feel like you're doing the right thing, you know?
09:06Right. I do feel like that. Um, I'm, I'm generating a lot of interest in what we're
09:11doing now. And I'm so happy for that. Uh, because of the fact that that's where I belong is it
09:16really is my purpose. Uh, I had been doing other things in the medical field was great. You know,
09:21the money was fantastic. No complaints whatsoever. I was doing, I was a yuppie
09:25with all the toys, everything I had. Uh, but I really had money, but then you have a,
09:29you had a personal problem. You don't have a personal problem and with no money.
09:34Okay. I don't know about that, but doesn't it make you happier? I mean,
09:38of course it does. Right. Because I'm, I'm, uh, I'm doing what I had promised to do.
09:43Uh, I also find in this, uh, work that I'm doing now helping others,
09:47it couldn't be more gratifying. You know, it's sort of, someone said to me, well, you know,
09:51it's a ministry market. I said, well, no, it's not a ministry. It's just something I promised
09:54God. And he looked at me and said, well, what do you think the ministry is Mark? Yeah. And so
09:58it is in sorts a ministry. And I'm enjoying that thought because what I'm doing is I am
10:03helping people cross over the, um, uh, the disability thing with their kids. A lot of
10:09people can't accept that. And now I'm a statistician with, uh, I have a database you wouldn't believe
10:14on, uh, what happens to kids who are disabled in the first few days or first few weeks and
10:18months of their lives. What happens to them? A lot of them get discarded or thrown out or worse.
10:25I'm sorry, what do you mean? Discarded abuse here. The worst abused children,
10:29uh, that I had researched were blind. How's that one? And what was abused? They were pushed
10:34around, thrown around, just in a house by their parents. I'm talking about by their parents. Yeah.
10:39And, uh, because of the different, uh, uh, emotions you go through, I guess to, to accept
10:45a child. Do you think maybe it's because they think that this is like a way of God punishing
10:49them or something? I would think that, uh, just ridiculous. Yeah, it's totally ridiculous. Uh,
10:54I think that those people just don't have enough, uh, uh, truth. Uh, I, I, I view truth as energy.
11:01Uh, there is nothing greater than truth. Uh, you know, so maybe they're very materialistic. They're
11:05just like want everything to be in society. What we would call perfect, which is just have a job,
11:09have this, have that a little, you know, little house and everything's great. And
11:13that's where I can relate to it. It's a whole different scene. I had that and it's great.
11:18Money is good. Money's very good. It's healthy for you. Uh, and now what I'm looking forward to
11:22is to generate the funds that we're about to start generating again, uh, and giving back to
11:26see how many kids we can help, how many families we can educate. Um, that's a big charge for me.
11:31It, it, that's what makes me glow. So you are glowing Mark. It might be the light though, right?
11:37So, um, how do parents react? I mean, you, you got to the point where you're doing seminars,
11:40right? You're talking to a bunch of parents at the same time. Um, do you tell them all your story
11:46of what happened? Sometimes I will, if I feel comfortable enough, like I'm comfortable with you.
11:51Uh, sometimes, uh, I'll stop. I'll pull short of that little microsecond because then I'll be
11:57crying all the time and, uh, I might make them feel worse. Like maybe some people might not
12:02believe. Uh, yeah, I would think a lot of people wouldn't. Uh, now I've gotten into a, uh, a group
12:08or I should say an understanding of, of people. And I realized what do they call them? Haters,
12:13you know, in a non-trusting people. And it's good not to trust everyone. Of course it is.
12:19Listen, those kinds of people are just ignorant. That's what you call them. Ignorant.
12:24They are totally ignorant, you know, and the whole thing comes back down to is to know yourself,
12:28understand yourself, who you are, that this is our shell. Our spirits are who we really are.
12:34I only got there because of a miracle. So it's not as though I was there, you know, because I'm Mark.
12:40Do you also feel like, I mean, what kind of life were you living before? Were you happy with it?
12:43Were you maybe too materialistic? Um, I mean, were you, were you paying too much attention,
12:47maybe to money and this just kind of like turned over completely?
12:50Yeah. It, it flipped. I mean, what is it? One 80 or three 60, like it was a complete turnaround. It,
12:58uh, money meant nothing after that. I mean, my, my daughter, daddy's little girl,
13:03and there's something wrong, what's going on here. There's anything wrong. And, uh, so yeah,
13:08I was materialistic and I had, like I said, I had actually reached almost a pinnacle where
13:12I was riding high. I was, you know, in fact, I would, when I was living in Jersey,
13:16I was coming down here to all the clubs and renting those Danzi boats, whatever they are,
13:20the motive. Yeah. So I was partying. Isn't that what everybody does when they come to Miami?
13:24Yeah. Well, if you have money, yes, it is. Yeah. It's something normal, I guess. People just say,
13:29oh, we have to go to Miami. You have to rent something exotic, whatever it is. And then it
13:32turns out, you know, what's the point? There's no point for it. I mean, if it makes you happy,
13:35great, but don't do it to impress somebody else. You know? Right. Exactly. The girl,
13:38right. Well, not even it was, well, that's what it was for me at the time.
13:43Right. Yeah. But things did change completely. And my life was turned upside down. And,
13:49and it's just so, so great to know that if you take this for what it's worth, it was a miracle.
13:54I found myself, I found who I really am. And I'm saying to myself, wow, that's very cool.
13:59You really do like that. Not a lot of people can say that, you know, that they know what they're
14:03here for. Yeah, I think you're right. Because I think it's a difficult road. It's, I forget
14:09the gentleman's book that I read, The Road Less Traveled. It's definitely The Road Less Traveled,
14:15Scott. And it's a difficult one. And a lot of times, maybe not the one that you were hoping,
14:20or you were expecting. Right. Yeah. I wasn't hoping or expecting it. Yeah. So, you know,
14:25we all have a purpose. You just have to find it. And sometimes it just takes one little miracle
14:28like that for you to find what it is that you're here to do. So let's go to what we're here
14:32specifically also, which is the event that you're doing this month. When is it? I think I'm seeing
14:36everybody behind you. I believe it's the 28th of February. I hope you're going to be there. Yeah.
14:40I better remember what day it is. It's fantastic, Jenny. My goodness. Miami is being very
14:46receptive to us. I have a database. First, I have to applaud the youth in this state and greater
14:52Miami in particular, because that's where I'm working with these kids. Miami Dade. The responses
14:57that we're getting, the database that I've collected is so beautiful. It shows all the
15:02kids that are opening up to their hearts to pay forward. They're looking for direction to
15:08helping others. They have a need. They have a thirst to quench. That's what I offer.
15:14So I've got the best job. What I do is I tailor design different volunteer ops for the kids
15:21and for other people, for organizations. And we're having a ball doing it. And so we had met
15:27somewhere through the grapevine of a few people. My son, who is very educated in music, he's a
15:34composer, a guitarist. And he came up with a particular opportunity for us. It's called
15:40Volunteer One. And so it's another segment of the company. My Charity for Kids and Volunteer One is
15:45another portion of it, which is the volunteer portion. And he came up with some opportunities
15:49that are great. And one of them is, of course, he's a young kid too. He got into this electronic
15:53music. And what we're doing is we're organizing these events for teens only.
15:58So this is from what age to what age?
16:01This one here is strictly 14 to 19, I believe.
16:05And it's really great because it's very well monitored. There's no liquor, of course,
16:11on the premises. This is going to be at the Marlin Stadium. So you have a view both of the park and
16:16of the Clevelander. It gives the youth an opportunity to experience a big club, the
16:22big bash type thing.
16:23I hope they don't get used to it, though.
16:25No, in one respect, we hope they get used to it every month.
16:29But I'm saying I hope they don't get used to it. And then when they're 21, that's all they do.
16:34Then it'll backfire, right?

16:38I just killed them.
16:40No, well, I mean, they're not only there to dance and have fun. I mean, you're also teaching them
16:44something. They're there to help each other. So of course, that won't happen. They'll have
16:48you to guide them.
16:49Yes, they will. And all the other volunteers.
16:50All the pressure on you.
16:51All the pressure on me. But what we do have is we have a staff that will be there. And we will
16:56be giving them new volunteer opportunities during the show. We'll have our table set up.
17:00And so they're coming there, signing in for different volunteer ops.
17:03So it's part of the it's almost like a reward. The show is a reward. And that's why we set it
17:08up with my son.
17:08That's good. A reward for volunteering. That's very nice.
17:11Yeah. And they get to experience something kind of cool.
17:13So of course, the parents could go with them, right?
17:16Most of them frowned upon it immediately because they wanted to party by themselves. But I got a
17:21few of them to agree. Your mom or dad can come. Sure. Okay. That's okay. So we made them staff
17:26members, of course. So what better thing can you offer a parent at a club is to say you can come
17:33to the club also and monitor your children. They were loving it. So I made a few of them staff
17:37members.
17:37The school parties, you know?
17:38Yeah, exactly.
17:39Chaperones.
17:39Yeah. Basically chaperones. Exactly.
17:41Even though I do think that it probably won't even be that necessary because the kind of kids
17:45that you're talking about that already want to volunteer. I mean, these are kids that are already
17:48in a good path, you know? So they would have never even gotten to this event or to you if it
17:52wasn't for them wanting to volunteer in something, you know?
17:54Right. Matter of fact, in order to reach us, they had to have researched on volunteermatch.org.
18:00And that's an international organization that gives volunteer opportunities. And then they
18:04found us. And we seem to be becoming the better volunteer company right now. And that's where
18:13we're growing. You won't believe how fast we're growing. It's very quick.
18:15I think if anything, then it'll be good for your kids to go to the
18:18event because they'll get a chance to socialize with good kids, you know?
18:21Yeah. We're giving awards to the children. Children. Everyone's a kid once you hit my age.
18:25Teens. We're giving awards for the best business concept, philanthropic concept,
18:30both as an individual and as a group. So this way they can get together as a unified team.
18:34You know, it gets them to organize themselves and paint it forward. And so I'm having a blast
18:39doing that because that's what I like doing, teaching. And the kids are loving it. The ones,
18:42like you said, they're there because they want to volunteer first. And then the reward is to say,
18:47hey, you're going to go to a big bash also. So is your son going to be DJing?
18:51I wanted him to, but he's hiring all the different DJs. Oh, actually, actually,
18:55we're not even hiring him this time. For the first couple of times, we've had it.
18:58Volunteering, I'm guessing, right? They're volunteering. And these
19:00are some pretty big people. And if not, we could get you some DJs. Don't worry.
19:03Thank you. Yourself and... I don't DJ and Rick doesn't DJ either.
19:08All right. Well, it sounds like you have everything going the way that you want. And now
19:12reach out, I mean, to whoever you want. I'm sure that you're still looking for sponsors or looking

20:00Yeah, that kind of stuff. What else do we need? Like one of those mechanical bull rides to be
20:04outside.
20:05It could be wild.
20:06Yeah, it's kind of cool stuff. I saw that and the teens were really loving it.
20:10Just some of the immediate things we're looking for. What we're looking for is to support from
20:15the community to allow the teens or allow us to go in and give a presentation to show what we're
20:21really about and it's an educational program first. Okay, so that's the main plug that we
20:26have here. The main thought to get across to the public.
20:28He's not going to bore you. Don't worry. You're going to have fun. I promise.
20:31Yeah, you'll have a blast because it'll be my son, not myself there.

20:46All right, so teens-only party Splash Miami and that is at the Marlings.
20:52We would call it the Clevelander, right? Isn't it?
20:54The Clevelander. Right, it's the club within the park.
20:57So this would be one of actually the very few or only opportunities that maybe teens would
21:02get to party there. What time is it at? It'll be from 7 to 11, 11.30. I believe
21:08the kids have a curfew. Yeah, 7 to 11. Okay. Isn't that a little late?
21:12No. No, the curfew is 11.
21:14Curfew is 11? Okay.
21:16Cut the show in half, Jenny. Well, I was hoping that they were
21:18there from like 12 to 2. I'm kidding. No, they're not 2.
21:21But actually, we wanted it from 12 to 8 in the afternoon.
21:24That's going to be like a real nightclub kind of scene, you know, for them.
21:27The Clevelander is actually doing some special stuff for us.
21:30They closed the pool off, but they have these little glow balls, all neon.
21:33It's going to look really great. The graphics are going to be great, guys.
21:36You'll never get an opportunity like this, not on this kind of level,
21:40to witness this. It's going to be fantastic.
