00:08For the second month in a row, gyrating tech stocks rearranged the ranking of more than

00:12half of the world's 10 richest people.

00:15As a result, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg swapped places with Larry Ellison to become the world's

00:21fourth richest person again, Warren Buffett moved ahead of Google co-founder Larry Page,

00:27and Bill Gates overtook both of the Google co-founders to become the world's seventh

00:31richest person, up two spots in a month.

00:34Elon Musk maintained his spot as the world's richest person, worth an estimated $243.7

00:41billion, $3 billion more than a month ago, following an increase in the value of rocket

00:46firm SpaceX.

00:48Lately, Musk has been a vocal critic of a Brazilian Supreme Court judge over a ruling

00:53that froze bank accounts for his Starlink satellite internet business.

00:57Regulators in Brazil moved to shut down X, formerly known as Twitter, on August 30th

01:03to comply with the Brazilian judge's order.

01:07The biggest gainer in the past month was Mark Zuckerberg.

01:10His fortune rose by nearly $14 billion to an estimated $180.5 billion as Meta platform

01:17shares climbed 9% during August.

01:21That gain moved him ahead of Oracle chairman Larry Ellison to rank the Meta CEO as number

01:25four richest in the world.

01:28He's traded places with Ellison several times throughout the year so far.

01:32The biggest loser of this elite cohort in the past month was Amazon chairman Jeff Bezos.

01:38His fortune fell by $7.8 billion to $197 billion due to a drop in Amazon shares.

01:46Despite the decline, Bezos held onto his rank as number two richest.

01:51But the gap between Musk and Bezos widened to nearly $47 billion on September 1st, from

01:57just under $36 billion at the start of August.

02:01Gates' move to number seven richest, up from number nine a month ago, was partly due

02:05to a drop in the price of Google parent Alphabet shares, which shaved a bit more than $6 billion

02:11off the fortunes of Google co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin, now ranked number eight

02:16and nine respectively.

03:10At number three is Bernard Arnault, who is worth $189.7 billion.

03:16He had been the world's richest person from February through late May this year.

03:20Arnault, who is French, is the only person in the top 10 richest people in the world

03:25who is not American.

03:27At number four is Mark Zuckerberg, who is worth $180.5 billion.

03:33Zuckerberg, the CEO of MetaPlatforms, still owns about 13% of the public company.

03:39At number five is Larry Ellison, whose net worth is $174.7 billion.

03:46At number six is Warren Buffett, who is worth $149.9 billion.

03:52His fortune fattened by $11.6 billion in the past month, as Berkshire Hathaway A shares

03:58climbed 8.5%.

04:01At number seven is Bill Gates, whose net worth is now $137.2 billion.

04:09At number eight is Larry Page, who is worth $136.1 billion.

04:15At number nine is Sergey Brin, who is worth $130.4 billion.

04:21Rounding out the top 10 is Steve Ballmer, whose net worth is $122.5 billion.

04:28Together, the world's top 10 richest, all men who are worth $100 billion or more, are

04:35worth a combined $1.66 trillion, about $31 billion more than a month ago.
