A 34-year-old childminder has been remanded for seven days in connection to the alleged murder of an infant at Taman Kelamak Utama in Alor Gajah on Friday (Sept 6).

The mother of three is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

00:12The remand order was issued by Magistrate Noor Shalyati Mohamed Sobri on Saturday morning.
00:18The suspect was brought to the Ayer Kero Court Complex for the remand as the Alor Gajah Magistrate

00:37Earlier, Alor Gajah OCPD Superintendent Ashari Abusama said the eight-month-old baby boy
00:44was sent to the nursery by his mother and grandfather on Friday morning before the victim
00:49was rushed to the Alor Gajah Hospital two hours later after his nose started to bleed
00:54and body turned blue.
00:56He said the Alor Gajah Hospital has also conducted a post-mortem to determine the actual cause
01:02of death.
01:03It is said the nursery, which has been operating since 2010, has no permission to operate.
