Former deputy minister and husband not involved in human trafficking, says IGP

Investigations showed that former deputy minister in the prime minister's Department Datuk Dr Mashitah Ibrahim and her husband are not involved in human trafficking activities in Myanmar, says Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain.

00:39He said police had recorded the statements from a total of 11 individuals and there is
00:44no solid evidence on human trafficking claims.
00:47He said their investigation is now focused on a person with the Datuk Sri title suspected
00:52to be a key figure in attracting potential investors to Myanmar.
00:57It was previously reported that the police are scrutinizing the financial status of several
01:01companies as part of the investigation into a human trafficking case.
01:06Dr. Mashita has denied allegations on her involvement in any human trafficking activities.
