The TCU Horned Frogs are 2-0 for the first time since 2022, when they reached the College Football Playoff National Championship, after a shutout win over Long Island University 45-0.

A major emphasis in tonight’s matchup was limiting turnovers on offense. In TCU’s Week 1 win over Stanford, the Horned Frogs fumbled the ball three times, making the game closer than it should have been.

TCU utilized the run game more effectively than in the opener against Stanford, resulting in four rushing touchdowns, with Cam Cook leading the way by scoring three. Quarterback Josh Hoover also had a strong performance, completing 20 of 25 passes for 267 yards and two touchdowns, including an 18-yard strike to Chase Curtis to extend TCU’s lead over the Sharks.

The Horned Frogs’ defense was dominant, allowing just 127 total yards of offense by LIU — the fewest by a TCU opponent since holding Grambling State to 80 yards in the 2012 season opener.
