Jaja Santiago can't play for Japan national team
Now a Japanese citizen Jaja Santiago, who goes by the name Sachi Minowa has no chance to represent the Japanese national team due to a new rule of the FIVB which states that an athlete can only change federation 'one time only.' Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) and newly-elected Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) President Ramon 'Tats' Suzara said Santiago's 'federation of origin' was still the Philippines and therefore prohibited her from being part of the Japanese team.'

00:00I told Jaja that I supported her because of this new rule.
00:07Ang problema, Jaja already played in the National League of the Philippines 3 or 4 times already.
00:12So with the new rule, last year, she can never play in Japan.
00:17So she can still play in the Philippines, kredi ba siya?
00:21Because her federation of origin is Philippines.
00:24Hindi passport ang binabasinan ito, federation of origin.
00:29So Jaja is still Filipino by nature to play for the national team.
00:37Kung hindi siya na-national team, pwede na-transfer.
00:40He can transfer. Because why?
00:43What happens is, if you remember, lahat ng Cuban players kasi umalis sa bayan nila.
00:50Kasi ano man, hirap ng baano.
00:52And they played sa Italy, nag-asawa, ganyan.
00:55Suddenly Turkey became strong with Vargas.
00:58Lyon, from Poland, Cuba, became strong because of them.
01:03So ngayon dinistriktiwa na ngayon ng FIB because of that rule last year.
01:08Because they were national team players and they played also national team.
01:11Kasi you have to wait 2 years eh.
01:13But now the new rule, Jaja played kasi sa national team.
01:16Kung hindi siya nagdaro si Jaja sa national team, she can change federation.
01:20But since she played, by the record, FIB, she can change federation.
