00:00And the Tyreek Hill detainment video was was released.
00:05The body cam footage came out last night, probably around six o'clock ish.
00:09And yeah, it was bad.
00:12I mean, like, you know, the one thing that I was, you know,
00:16in my in this whole controversy when it was going down on Sunday,
00:21the one thing I was kind of like wondering, I think maybe Tyreek said.
00:26Yeah, maybe we've seen Tyreek.
00:27It's a pretty emotional, you know,
00:30pretty emotional on like the marina video that came out.
00:33You know, we know that he's done some bad things in his past.
00:35So, you know, you leave that window open, man.
00:38This video.
00:40He was like, calm down, calm down, relax.
00:43Do what do you want?
00:44This video is the fact that you see how aggressive he was banging on his window.
00:48You know, that's a sports car, right?
00:50You know that a crack is expensive.
00:53Oh, yeah. And they're not paying for that crack.
00:55If they definitely if the thing is, is that he even said,
00:59why are you banging on my window like that?
01:01Yeah. So aggressive. So aggressive.
01:04Right. Like I've never seen a situation.
01:08For a speeding ticket.
01:10Yep. And keep in mind, we see these videos all the time with these Karen's
01:15and these white folks acting crazy with the cop and the cop get their stuff,
01:19go get the ticket, give it to him and they move on.
01:21Well, I've never. Yeah.
01:23I mean, like, I've never kept my window down the entire time,
01:25especially in South Florida.
01:26He was on the phone.
01:28I'm trying to call his agent.
01:29You know, he was calling the head of security for the Dolphins.
01:31Oh, head of security. Oh, at first.
01:33That's who the Drew is. Drew Brooks.
01:34He's. Oh, OK.
01:36But he was like he was letting him know, hey, I'm you know, this is this is.
01:40Well, this is the thing that also is kind of lost.
01:42I mean, like when a if Tyreek Hill, it's not as big a deal, obviously.
01:46But Tyreek Hill, if he got a speeding ticket outside of that,
01:48it's still going to make a headline.
01:50And so, like, he's going he's like, all right, let me just get ahead of this
01:53and let the team know, hey, I'm getting a ticket speeding before the game.
01:57There's, you know, just it's going to be it'll probably be a thing
02:00because it's him like it's going to it's going to be a headline.
02:02And the whole thing that I was thinking yesterday was like, oh, well,
02:07you saw the videos that were there.
02:08The reason that they're all his videos is because, hey, that's Tyreek Hill
02:13outside of his car getting arrested.
02:15He probably if he was just sitting there with his window down
02:18the entire time, people are going to be like,
02:21OK, look, Tyreek Hill got pulled over by the cops before the game.
02:24Like so, yeah, I understand him wanting to keep some,
02:27but some some privacy there while that's happening.
02:30I have never. Never.
02:36Because first of all, like if you get stopped, there's other cars
02:39and usually the cop goes back to his car.
02:41So you roll the window up.
02:42Why there were four cops, that was weird, too. Yeah.
02:45And and so I like he said, you were driving recklessly or whatever.
02:51Or that's what they charged him with.
02:52So it was the seatbelt.
02:53It was immediately.
02:54Why? Why didn't you have a seatbelt?
02:55Yeah. Why don't you have a seatbelt on? Right.
02:57Like it's so when he drove up.
03:02When somebody asks you something like that and he drives,
03:05the cop drove like he a bat out of hell through traffic to get there.
03:11For a seatbelt.
03:13No, he got him.
03:13I know we got him for speeding on for speed, but but it wasn't going like F1.
03:17Right. But that's like, dude, it was like.
03:20But did you see the way he went after Tyree,
03:24even in a motorcycle before he got to here's the wild thing about it, right?
03:27Like this was the this was the part for me that was like, oh, this dude
03:33really blew this out of the water because. All right.
03:38You think that he should have rolled his window down?
03:40Whatever. Fine.
03:42If you're the most ardent arguer of you better follow everything the cop said.
03:45Right. Let's say you thought that he says, in fact, get out of the car.
03:50Tyreek's immediate words were, OK, I'll get out of the car.
03:54Why this cop felt the need to flip the door open,
03:57grab him when he agreed to his instructions verbally.
04:01You heard him.
04:04That I lost on anybody, throw him on the ground, throw him on the ground
04:06and handed me in the back.
04:08Yeah, I didn't. I was like, wait a minute.
04:10He said he was getting out of the car. At what point?
04:15Did he feel threatened or did Tyreek show aggression
04:19to where this was necessary?
04:23A person to be detained in that manner.
04:27Right. Or. Even more so.
04:31When he told Calais Campbell, you're dealing with me now.
04:36I'm like, wow.
04:37Yeah. You know what?
04:39General, I said, wait, he told me to get my car.
04:41I'm going to Calais or John. Was it John?
04:44Johnny was the one up front with Johnny was up front.
04:47Calais was in the back.
04:48Calais got out of the car with his hands up.
04:50Hey, I'm just, you know. Yeah.
04:54But that was like the one thing I was like, all right,
04:56maybe Tyreek said something really like really off kilter.
04:59Like and I still don't think word should have that kind of reaction.
05:03But now, do like I'm like, what?
05:05I'm sorry. Somebody said to me, Tyreek should have just listened
05:08and rolled the window down.
05:10I'm like, clearly like.
05:12And I got pissed off.
05:13Like, really? Really?
05:15That's what gives them the complex to start off with,
05:18that they think they can say some BS like that.
05:21The thing that's interesting, too, is when it's too much,
05:24when are you going too far asking somebody to do it
05:26because you have the power and you're supposed to live?
05:29Well, the guy, the guy who had the the tatted up arm,
05:32who is the one who grabbed grabbed him and then the guy who basically
05:36horsed collar brought him back down on the like, that's the guy
05:38who got put on a mission.
05:39They said that on CNN last night because I even said, like, hey, the cop
05:43who I was talking with at the window, he's like,
05:45I didn't really have a problem with him.
05:47But other dude comes over here and he's got to act like he's your muscle.
05:51Like, why you need him there for for that?
05:53I don't know.
05:55But like, why didn't all the other cops deescalate the situation?
05:58Yeah. Like, why did he why did he bring it to that level?
06:01And then he's like, and Tyreek's on my head, surgery on my on my knee.
06:05And he's like, oh, did you get surgery on your ears?
06:07Why didn't you listen to us?
06:08Like, what is this? Right, right, right.
06:11Dude, I was I'm watching like every angle last night.
06:14I'm like, you know, it's going to happen.
06:15This is crazy. Nothing, nothing.
06:17Because did you hear the police union come out and say.
06:23I saw the I can't read a word for word, I forgot it,
06:26but it was something along the lines of I could find it.
06:29I remember that. Yeah, they were like they said they redirected him,
06:32redirected him to the ground. Right, right.
06:34And I'm like, what is this? Really?
06:35What is this? A game of pong? No, no, no.
06:38What I I love the lie.
06:41It was only a couple of no, it wasn't a couple of minutes.
06:43It wasn't a couple of minutes.
06:44We in fact.
06:45So he got a speeding ticket, a seatbelt ticket,
06:48and he got taken to the ground twice.
06:50Yeah, right. And then he was and then he was given citations.
06:53It was the while in handcuffs.
06:55The way they made it seems like they gave him the citations very quickly.
06:58And he was like, like, oh, no, it wasn't.
07:00No, he wasn't.
07:02All right. Here was the the union's statement.
07:04This was I wonder who this was.
07:05I wonder who.
07:06Now, this was before the footage came out, which, by the way,
07:09obvious now why they didn't want the footage to come out.
07:12They had it. They were forced to because it's the law.
07:14Yeah, I mean, like you got like money.
07:17Everybody got to be accountable.
07:19Like before the Dolphins game yesterday, an incident that occurred
07:22where Tyree was placed in handcuffs before being released.
07:24First, to be clear, at no time was he ever under arrest.
07:28He was briefly detained for officer safety
07:33after driving in a manner in which he was putting himself
07:36and others in great risk of danger.
07:38Upon being stopped, Mr.
07:39Hill was not me, not immediately cooperative with the officers on the scene
07:43who's pursuant to policy and for their immediate safety.
07:47Place Mr.
07:48Hill in handcuffs.
07:49Mr.
07:50Hill, still uncooperative, refused to sit on the ground
07:53and was therefore redirected to the ground.
07:56Once the situation was sorted out within a few minutes, Mr.
07:58Hill was issued two traffic citations and was free to leave.
08:01We would like to stress to the community and use this as an opportunity
08:04to remember that it is always best to obey lawful police commands
08:08first and complain later.
08:10We would like we have worked hard across communities.
08:13No, you have to bridge the gap between what people believe
08:15law enforcement should and can do and will continue to do.
08:18In this case, while we wait for the investigation to run its course
08:21based on what we know, we stand with the actions of our officers,
08:24but look forward to further open communications moving forward.
08:27We are confident in the actions that led to the stop at Mr.
08:30Hill as with any investigation.
08:32We wait for the facts to come out, along with an explanation.
08:34Mr.
08:34Hill may have for the actions.
08:36Mr.
08:36Hill, what about the cop that initiated this unfortunate incident?
08:40He initiated.
08:40What time was that?
08:41What time was that statement said?
08:42Because that was put out.
08:45Let me see.
08:46This was put out just before noon yesterday.
08:48Yeah.
08:49So here's what I would like.
08:50Here's what I would like.
08:52I would like that individual right there
08:55to read that while watching the video and explain himself.
08:59I don't think the video was.
09:01I don't think that individual sort of video.
09:02No, no, no.
09:03But I want him to do it now.
09:04Oh, OK.
09:05Well, yeah, I want him to do it now before he comes out with that.
09:11Yeah, because because he could have shut up and waited till he knew the facts
09:15instead of blindly supporting somebody.
09:17He don't know what happened.
09:18Yeah. Like we ask all the time.
09:22On the other side, we say, let's wait until we get.
09:26Let's wait until the truth comes out.
09:28Let's wait until we see, you know, what actually happened
09:31before we blindly make comments we are unaware of.
09:35So now who looks more ridiculous?
09:39The police, police, it's a really bad look,
09:42because you really got to look.
09:44I want him to stand in front of all of Miami
09:48with the video playing on the jumbotron, and I want him to reread those words.
09:54And what?
09:54Hey, man, there's an NF week.
09:56Could the Dolphins have sued the cops if Tyree got hurt?
10:00No, Tyree got him.
10:02Oh, yeah.
10:02I mean, I think the Dolphins probably could have, too.
10:04I mean, I'm sure the Dolphins would have backed
10:05and the Dolphins came out with a very strong statement yesterday.
10:07They were they were they were obviously I mean, Mike McDowell.
10:11You guys heard Mike McDaniel.
10:12Mike McDaniel was very upset about this.
10:14He was cursing.
10:15He was on verge of tears yesterday talking about this with his players.
10:18It's like, dude, as
10:21and here's what I hate about this.
10:25You have all these complaints.
10:28About. The relationship.
10:32Between. People of color.
10:37And police officers. Right.
10:41And this is the reason why.
10:46And this is why everybody gets so upset,
10:48and this is why everybody gets so pissed off about it.
10:54And then you have situations like this and.
10:58To make it even worse, you have a guy say the police did everything right.
11:03Well, the union, the union.
11:05So what? So I would like to know.
11:08If you're working on relationships
11:10and you do a really good job with your relationships
11:13between the community and police, how is that helping?
11:17How is what you said about this situation
11:20helping the relationship between the police and the community?
11:24I'm not defending it, but I think the whole point of having a union back you is
11:28that's what their job like.
11:28That's why you pay union dues like they kind of have to.
11:31Now, because here's what I say.
11:33If I was two of the other cops on that scene, I would be pissed off because.
11:36Why didn't you say nothing?
11:37I know. I understand that.
11:39But it's like we listen.
11:40All the cops get in trouble, right?
11:42You know why?
11:43Because you sat there and you watch this egregious, egregious activity.
11:47Absolutely. But it's like.
11:48But it is definitely like you have this one.
11:50The guy who did get punished immediately
11:53is the guy who said this thing crazy over.
11:55They didn't even really punish him.
11:58OK, whatever discipline that they gave, they gave him before.
12:02They knew they knew or the person who was the head of the Miami-Dade police
12:06who is not part of the new right away, like they they came out immediately
12:10and like, all right, we're going to do something immediately because they
12:13when they saw that body cam footage, they knew what the reaction was going to be.
12:17And they knew that the guy reacted wrong.
12:18I don't know what the next step is of this.
12:20Yeah, I think all four of those guys, whatever, four or five.
12:22Can I ask you a question?
12:23They all they're all going to have to probably have some kind of consequence.
12:26I don't know what that ends up being.
12:27Can I ask you a question? Sure.
12:30If I take a similar situation,
12:32but make that an athlete, how much would people?
12:39One action right away by the league.
12:41Oh, right away in the league, in the league, Tyree kills swung on a cop.
12:45Even even with even with a union or whatever.
12:50The league would have acted already, probably.
12:53So understand.
12:55Now, the shoes on the other foot.
12:58And you want us as athletes, people who don't get the luxury
13:04of everything that this guy is getting right, this could have been George Floyd.
13:09No, the way they were acting.
13:11If he wasn't Tyreek, this could have been George Floyd.
13:14Evidently, the guys say he didn't know it was Tyree.
13:17And that's crazy.
13:18You don't people on the force did.
13:19But people who were there did say that they did know it was Tyree.
13:22One cop is on Mike, who says, you know, that's Tyree Hill.
13:26Yeah, you heard that.
13:27Yeah. So they can't stop crying.
13:30Yeah. Like really?
13:32Like, again, if and then he said, I hung up the phone for you.
13:36Like, is that legal?
13:37Are you going to do that?
13:38You can hang up somebody's call.
13:39Well, I wouldn't want nobody listening to the way I was treating him.
13:42No, I understand.
13:43But are you allowed to do that?
13:44Are you allowed to just take somebody's phone and turn it off?
13:46The thing, aren't you?
13:47Like, so they were calling Drew, right?
13:49The security guy. Yeah.
13:50Shouldn't the police have some type of.
13:53Interaction with the head of security of the Dolphins?
13:55No, probably. Yeah.
13:56So like that was probably why, like, it's probably why they eventually
14:00get you know, he got released and got to go to the game.
14:02Here's what I would say.
14:04And here's the main reason why.
14:08I'm upset about this.
14:11If the police's job is to de-escalate a situation.
14:17They can't be the reason why the situation is escalated.
14:21End of discussion.
14:22OK, even with even with how they treated Kalea's.
14:27Because normally, and I'm going to tell you like this in fairness,
14:30I've been in situations where.
14:33Uh, I had friends get in a fight and there was a bunch of cops
14:37and I called the cop over calmly.
14:38I say, hey, why don't you let me talk to him?
14:41I can calm this down instead of everybody yelling back and forth.
14:46He said, yes, we want this situation calmed down.
14:48I go talk to my boy like, yeah.
14:51And I said, you know, I can take him home.
14:55If you know, are you going to arrest them or whatever?
14:59If you take him home, no.
15:00That was it over.
15:03You understand what I'm saying?
15:04Why are the two calmest people
15:07not the all the cops standing around,
15:10but the guy in handcuffs and another guy pull over?
15:14Why are they the ones trying to de-escalate the situation?
15:17It was the job of the police is to de-escalate all situations.
15:22First, I would like somebody from the police
15:26to show me how they de-escalated this.
15:31I just I just know they made it worse at no point in time.
15:35Should a police officer make a situation worse
15:39if his main job is protecting, sir?
