Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump faced off in their first—and possibly only—debate on Tuesday night, tackling issues like abortion, immigration, the economy, and foreign policy. The debate, hosted by ABC News in Philadelphia’s National Constitution Center, was also the first time the two candidates have ever met in person, after Trump broke tradition in 2021 by skipping the inauguration of his successor.

00:00Kamala Harris, what's up, good to meet you.
00:05Nice to see you.
00:06Have fun.
00:08She's going to my philosophy now.
00:09In fact, I was going to send her a MAGA hat.
00:10She's gone to my philosophy, but if she ever got elected, she'd change it.
00:15And it will be the end of our country.
00:18She's a Marxist.
00:19What you're going to hear tonight is a detailed and dangerous plan called Project 2025 that
00:25the former president intends on implementing if he were elected again.
00:29I have nothing to do with Project 2025.
00:33That's out there.
00:34I haven't read it.
00:35I don't want to read it purposely.
00:36I'm not going to read it.
00:38This was a group of people that got together.
00:39They came up with some ideas, I guess some good, some bad.
00:43They have abortion in the ninth month.
00:46They even have, and you can look at the governor of West Virginia, the previous governor of
00:50West Virginia, not the current governor is doing an excellent job.
00:53But the governor before, he said the baby will be born and we will decide what to do
00:58with the baby.
00:59In other words, we'll execute the baby.
01:01There is no state in this country where it is legal to kill a baby after it's born.
01:05One does not have to abandon their faith or deeply held beliefs to agree.
01:11The government and Donald Trump certainly should not be telling a woman what to do with
01:17her body.
01:18In Springfield, they're eating the dogs, the people that came in.
01:23They're eating the cats.
01:24They're eating, they're eating the pets of the people that live there.
01:30ABC News did reach out to the city manager there.
01:32He told us there had been no credible reports of specific claims of pets being harmed, injured
01:37or abused by individuals within the immigrant community.
01:40Well, I've seen people on television.
01:41Let me just say here.
01:42Well, I think this is so rich coming from someone who has been prosecuted for national
01:50security crimes, economic crimes, election interference, has been found liable for sexual
01:57assault and his next big court appearance is in November at his own criminal sentencing.
02:04I'm going to actually do something really unusual and I'm going to invite you to attend
02:08one of Donald Trump's rallies because it's a really interesting thing to watch.
02:12You will see during the course of his rallies, he talks about fictional characters like Hannibal
02:16Lecter.
02:17He will talk about windmills cause cancer.
02:21And what you will also notice is that people start leaving his rallies early out of exhaustion
02:26and boredom.
02:27And I will tell you the one thing you will not hear him talk about is you.
02:31I probably took a bullet to the head because of the things that they say about me.
02:36They talk about democracy.
02:38I'm a threat to democracy.
02:40They're the threat to democracy with a fake Russia, Russia, Russia investigation that
02:45went nowhere.
