00:00Hi people in Espanol, I am Isabella Merced, I'm here with Armani at the Venice Film Festival
00:08and I'm here to do a very special video.
00:12Many people say that the eyes are the window to the soul.
00:17I think, I disagree, I think it's the purse.
00:20I think the purse is the window to the soul.
00:23I'm a purse person, I'm a purse person, and I always have been.
00:29My family has always told me that's something I have in common with my grandma, Yolanda
00:33Merced.
00:34May she rest in peace, she would bring her purse everywhere, and that's what I do.
00:40So I'm going to open up to you today.
00:42I was nervous, I was hesitant because, well, I am always concerned and conflicted with
00:49do I want to come across as an elusive actor who you can picture in any role, or do I
00:53want to be transparent in myself.
00:56Turns out I can't be mysterious, that is the opposite of my personality, I'm way too excited
01:00about life and everything in it.
01:01So here we go, I'm going through my purse.
01:05First up, we have the Luminous Silk Perfect Glow Concealer.
01:09So fun fact, in this bag we actually have a little compartment for lip gloss, like a
01:15little pocket, okay, and then a little pocket for the mirror.
01:20And these come in like every Giorgio Armani bag if you purchase one, and you can just
01:24like use the mirror, use the lip gloss, anywhere you want, in the bathroom, in the car, whatever.
01:29I do this all the time.
01:30I find myself doing my makeup in the car all the time, so this is very helpful.
01:34So this bag is really cute.
01:36Armani gave it to me.
01:38And this is shade number six, this is the one I'm wearing right now.
01:41And now, let's keep going, I'm scared.
01:47I have, okay, something tame, something mild.
01:50This is glasses, sunglasses, that I'm going to wear with this outfit today.
01:54Cute, okay, great.
01:55You always want to protect your eyes from the sun.
01:58Also wear sunscreen.
02:00This is Agua Florida.
02:03I always carry some sort of oil with me.
02:06This specifically is from Peru, and we use it in sort of like spiritual sessions or practices.
02:13It's sort of like it cleanses your mind, body, and soul.
02:16It smells amazing.
02:17Technically, it translates to Florida water.
02:20It smells so good, and like, I put it on if, you know, you're around a lot of people, a
02:25lot of energy as an actor, so you want to like be able to bathe your soul.
02:29It's very nice.
02:30It smells lovely, and I love it.
02:33And usually they come in a really big bottle, but I found a travel compact size, which is
02:37really cute.
02:38Anyways, I have a Tide To Go pen.
02:44I carry these with me everywhere because I refuse to, because I'm a messy eater, and
02:50I refuse to not wear white, like exhibit A. I'm wearing white today.
02:53I'm eating Italian food.
02:54It's going to get messy, but I have my Tide pen, period.
02:58You just shake it, and then you just go.
03:01And I have, I have my pills.
03:05I love vitamins, so like it has all my vitamins in it for the week, and then I also have my
03:12home vitamins that I keep next to my bed.
03:15But this one is cute because they have like eight days of the week, which is interesting
03:19because I'm not familiar with that.
03:21I think the Egyptians had 10 days of the week.
03:27I think it was the ancient Etruscans who had eight, actually.
03:31Fun fact, and I like to fantasize about altering my perception of time and the passage of time,
03:38but just like the ancient Etruscans, the person who was in charge was the one who got to decide
03:45how many months in a year we had.
03:49Okay, this is a disco lighter.
03:52I love a disco lighter.
03:53It's fun.
03:54Very fun.
03:55A lollipop.
03:59Now, this may look like just a lollipop to you, and you'll be like, oh, it's a caramel apple pop.
04:05Well, it's much more than that.
04:06To me, it is, it's so much more.
04:11It's because, well, I used to run cross-country against my will.
04:15It wasn't fully against my will because I was promised at the end of every race that
04:19I didn't want to do that I would get one of these.
04:22And in an ingredient-only household, this was a treat.
04:25It was a delicacy.
04:28And I hated running.
04:30I hated cardio.
04:31But I was motivated by this because lollipops to kids, and to me, remind me of the simplicities
04:38of happiness and how easy it is to be happy when you're a kid.
04:41And it tastes like victory when you didn't think you could make it through a race.
04:45It tastes like everything.
04:47I love these, and I carry them with me.
04:51A tampon.
04:53Now, hear me out.
04:55This, to you, may look like just a random person carrying a tampon, holding one on camera.
04:59But to me, you zoom in, it's feminism, okay?
05:02Because why the hell are we charged $10?
05:05Okay, you know that every girl that is watching this video right now is very familiar with
05:08the feeling.
05:09You're out and about.
05:10You're just minding your business, and all of a sudden, you get the feeling.
05:13You know the feeling I'm talking about.
05:14Your heart just drops to your ass.
05:15You're like, oh, no.
05:17It's time.
05:18And you panic.
05:19And you're not sure what to do.
05:20And instead of camaraderie, we are faced with capitalism.
05:22We have to go into a local store.
05:24We're worried about our pants staining.
05:25We have to buy a $10 pack of tampons just to go home to the bulk stash we already have
05:30from months prior.
05:31Like, carry my PSA for today.
05:34Carry a tampon with you.
05:35I'm looking at you men as well.
05:37Be a feminist.
05:38Carry a tampon.
05:40Oh, okay.
05:41I have my keys.
05:43This is my key holder, my lanyard.
05:46My Jack Skellington key.
05:48My hot dog man.
05:51Because I love Legos, and I also love hot dogs with just ketchup.
05:54No mustard.
05:56It's a Zelda sword.
05:58This is from a friend, a woman, a lovely woman who heard I like Zelda, and she just gave
06:02it to me.
06:03I love gifts.
06:04I think gifts are amazing, especially when they belong to someone prior, and it meant
06:07something to them.
06:08Now they want it to mean something to you.
06:10And it reminds me of the beautiful message that everything is borrowed.
06:14And it's beautiful to let go of things.
06:18So give your things away.
06:20All the way.
06:21Worry Stone.
06:22I carry these because it's silent.
06:25It's very sound friendly.
06:29I got one of these for each member of the cast of the movie called Turtles All The Way Down.
06:34And my character, if you've seen the movie, my character has this bad habit of picking
06:37a blister on her finger repeatedly.
06:39And so I thought, let's do a callback to the movie, but replace it with a healthy habit.
06:44And yeah, it's green like turtles, and it's very soft, and it's very satisfying.
06:48It's called Worry Stone.
06:49You should get one.
06:51So yeah, that's my bag.
06:53That is what I've got going on.
06:55It's very serious.
06:56It's a very serious bag.
06:58Yeah.
07:00Thank you for being here.
07:02I'm gonna go have fun in Venice.
07:05And yeah.
07:07Bye.
