00:00Lucy Paul, how are you? Good, how are you? I'm good thank you. So we meet you here at
00:05Ketley Business Park and a new venue for you, but not a new business. Just
00:09fill us in on what it is you do then. Okay, so I'm a personal trainer and
00:14photographer with my PT business. I do boot camps, one-to-one training, online
00:20coaching and also let loose with baby, which is mums that can bring their young
00:27babies to a safe space when they are ready to do some exercise. Photography is
00:32newborns, families, cake smashes, weddings, headshots, branding, the lot. So you've
00:39got this nice venue, you've just had your opening day last
00:43Sunday, you've got it all looking spic and span and you've got your first cake
00:46smashing photo coming up, just to make a real mess. So that's when literally the
00:53little ones, they have a cake and you get snaps of them as they're just having a
00:56whale of a time. Enjoying the cake, some of them haven't seen a cake before, so they're like what is this?
01:01Yeah, so where did it start for you then, the photography side of things first?
01:06It was a little bit in your family wasn't it? Yeah, my uncle always had his
01:10camera and at that point it looked like a nice swanky camera to me. One of my
01:16dad's best friends did a lot of photography as well and it just started
01:20from there, from a young age. So I did a night course whilst I was at Thomas
01:25Telford, because they didn't do that there, in order for me to get
01:28qualification to go to uni. So it's been a fair few years. Yeah, so you've got a
01:33few weddings under your belt now then? Yeah, I don't even know how many I've
01:37done now, but I really enjoy doing them. It's nice meeting a different group of
01:41people every time and to hear the feedback from my work. That's great.
01:46And the fitness side of things, have you always kind of kept yourself trim?
01:50Yeah, well I try to. I've always been into my exercise. At first I was a bit
01:58concerned whether I wanted to do fitness as a career because I was worried that
02:03I'd lose the love for it as a hobby, but now I think it's just pushed me to work
02:07even harder on myself as well. Yeah, well I love, I mean just a lot of people
02:13you know, the crossroads in life. Do I be a photographer? Do I do fitness? You
02:17know what, why not do both and that's what you have and I mean it's the spice
02:21of life isn't it? Yeah, absolutely. A lot of people said at some point you're
02:24going to have to choose one or another, but I don't want to, so I'm not going to choose one or the other. I like doing both so when it works, so yeah.
02:35A lot of the photography really boomed during lockdown. You were doing little
02:39photo shoots on the doorstep, is that right? Yeah, I was doing doorstep
02:42photo shoots for a small amount of money because I lost all my weddings, my
02:47newborn shoots, no one could go to anyone's house or anything. But yeah, I was
02:53charging about £10 per shoot and a lot of people wanted the photo shoots to
02:57spread some positivity, which is such a bad time and that enabled me to pay for my
03:02fitness qualifications. Fantastic. Yeah, doing alright now. So how often is the
03:06fitness side of things open here then? Monday to Thursday I'll do my fitness and
03:10then when it comes to photography I do pretty much any day of the week. Yeah, so
03:15if people want to find out more or book you for a wedding and so on, how
03:19do they get hold of you? Email or social media, which is Lucy Paul Photography.
03:24But yeah, Facebook, Instagram and my email address will be found online.
03:28Awesome work. And there's even a nice little tribute to your dear old
03:32granddaddy here on the wall, isn't he? He was a boxer wasn't he? He was, yes, a
03:35professional boxer, but unfortunately he passed away before I started Let Loose.
03:39But yeah, I know he'd be super proud, so I've got a little photo of him on the wall.
03:43A little is... Yeah, he's going to say, yeah, joy to be here. What was his name then?
03:48Let's give him a shout out. George Swanson. Well, if he's looking down from heavens above, I'm
03:52sure he's very proud of you. So, well, thanks for inviting us down Lucy and we
03:56wish you all the best with future success in business. Thank you very much.
